ooh... this is awkward... sorry, I do not believe Justin Roiland or his humor would be popular "in the land down under".... not mainstream, anyway.  He's famous for his show Rick & Morty here in the US.  I forget how diverse this crowd is sometimes ;)

  3. Once again, I have reviewed all Server Settings and permissions, and there is no VG specific setting or Bot that is kicking you out. We have no AFK monitor, and no system in place to do anything to people who have gone AFK. I have gone ahead and googled your problem and found many users who have experienced your exact issue, of course, not on the VG Discord. This issue seems to be part of the Discord code itself, in one such post I saw that the user reported it gone after a Discord update. Basically, we have no control over this, Discord does not operate like our TeamSpeak where we have direct control over everything from a program that is actually installed on our server. Best wishes and good luck to you!

  5. Hey, no worries, guys -- it's a video game and it's not perfect; glitches happen. Seems you were somehow able to rejoin, but you are indeed banned for now, and it has not been lifted yet (for the record). Please do not attempt to rejoin the server until someone from this forum thread has informed you that you're unbanned. Rejoining our server and playing while banned (by taking advantage of some glitch in the code) will not look good on your record as we investigate your Unban Request. Please be patient and respect our PR Admin's wishes. Thank you! This is the stage we are at now:
  6. I'm just gonna say this once and hope that both players and our PR Admins learn something -- sometimes we ban someone when necessary to cease behavior knowing that it will open up a dialog in the forums during an Unban Request thread, as we are doing here. Not saying that is what happened in this case, but we're here now, so why waste an opportunity... The constructive criticism being raised here is not intended to hurt your feelings but to get a word in edgewise to tell you how to move forward if you continue to play on our server(s). Regardless of the matter of your ban, assuming your are unbanned after all of this, you must understand the following things or you'll find yourself right back here before too long: This is not a training server - while it's okay to play while you learn as Infantry, this is not okay in vehicles and we expect you to learn how to operate those proficiently offline or elsewhere. Your use of the in-game chat system is bordering on spam because you average at least 3 messages every minute, and it's easier to count the minutes you didn't chat up than those you did while you were online. While we encourage communication, we also encourage brevity. Doesn't matter if it's Squad Chat or All Chat - you need to dial it way back. Our Admin Team will expect you to learn and adhere to the rules of our server, and while some information may be offered, the burden is upon you to educate yourself in our rules and SOP's, and you're expected to avoid any discussion or arguments about rules/SOP's with Admins during gameplay.
  7. GOG has a decent sale going on right now; picked up a pair of classics for less than a fiver -- Sid Meier's Pirates (the 2004 remake) and Railroad Tycoon 3
Always nice to put a few more cheap titles in the rainy-day games bin :dirol:

  8. First, you list 4.33.4 U5 -- if there is a typo, that is okay, but U5 is: 4.33.5 Build 16084 Let's be sure we are on the same page with the updates, so launch BMS and check the lower right corner of the main menu - be sure it looks like this: One easy thing you can do is to copy and move your modded Acdata folder to the side, and use a clean un-modified version for use on Public Servers such as ours. When you want to play offline or elsewhere using mods or custom items, you can move the modded Acdata folder back into position. Be sure BMS is not running when you move these folders around. The path to this folder is: (your programs folder)\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Data\Sim Here's a copy of a default un-modified Acdata folder for 4.33.5 (U5) from my own installation: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m7v7oxvid329ped/Acdata.zip?dl=0 I keep that folder at that link until the next update, and usually do it for every update - if you ever get mixed up and need a fresh unmodified Acdata folder, just refer to that link. I might get it into the Downloads section here for easy reference, because basically it's the go-to fix for the error you posted.
  9. Take care and fly safe! See you when you get time!
  10. Not sure off the top of my head, cannot remember the last time I had to deal with a crash log. You may find more selective help on THIS issue on the BMS forums, as the devs themselves (as well as several long time members) have far more collective knowledge between them. We could try all day here, but I'd feel you'd not be getting the expert help you deserve cuz we're just taking shots in the dark. Chances are, over at the BMS sim's actual forums, someone has helped someone else out in the last 18 years who had your exact set of issues and PC hardware.
  11. Glad we could help! Good luck with your setup and re-familiarization! See you around!

  13. Go to BMS forums - first read this: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?6670-PLEASE-READ-THIS-BEFORE-MODDING-BMS Then search the forums here for the information you need (or ask around): https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?36-Community-MODs-WIP
  14. Can we assume that you've tried a test in BMS with all the graphics settings as low as possible to see if that increases the FPS? If it doesn't, it would be an indicator that something is not set correctly somewhere or that there is a literal fault causing an inability to display and run that game correctly. Double check your GFX card's settings, too, and be sure you're not trying to push something crazy like 8x Anti Aliasing or 16x Anisotropic filtering or something while trying to get more FPS in testing. Need to get some sort of baseline to see where your computer is hanging up, because it should get low FPS if there was an issue, not pinned down to 1 FPS. That sounds like the game is not doing something right. Also, re. uninstalling, perhaps you may need to be sure everything uninstalled completely, or maybe you did so before reinstalling? That would be important to be sure the fault doesn't carry over. Lastly, I'd go through the BMS Launcher, select the Configuration option, and go through those line by line, ensuring any hardware options are set correctly for your system and that any heavy performance options are disabled for the remainder of testing. This one is a real head scratcher, but I'd advise you to keep at it, trying different things, it could be something obvious staring us in the face, or something less so, but there is a solution to every problem if you keep working at it.
  15. Okay, so if other games are running just fine right now and BMS is not, and if you have reviewed your in-game graphics settings and they are correct, let's try the DX9 file thing... Go to the programs folder the contains your BMS installation (your Program Files\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\User\Config) and delete the file: dx9display.dsp Start up BMS and go to your setup and double check that GFX settings are correct, then go to Instant Action for a quick test. Let us know if it worked. Next step (AFAIK) would be to backup your logbook and user files, and reinstall BMS. I hope that won't be needed, but in the end might be faster than any further bug hunts.
  16. Check out this guide, it shows how to access the in-game controls of Falcon BMS through DirectX key input: http://www.blu3wolf.com/falconbms/Kolbe/Falcon BMS Keyfile Manual.pdf I believe that is where you will find your answers. If this is not what you want, please rephrase your question and we will try to help. Best wishes and good luck!
  17. Could be a few things causing that issue... Have you changed any hardware during your absence from playing BMS? What version did you leave on (did you have to update when coming back?) I just got back into it myself, reinstalled after backing up my files, configs... but there could be so many simple things causing an issue that it might be hard to run through one at a time back and forth in a forum. Do you have other games installed? I ask because it would be great to check that any game will run correctly on your monitor at that resolution, and decent FPS -- that would make BMS the problem to narrow it down. Not sure if this could be an issue with the DX9 file in the BMS config folders, it's been awhile and I'm rusty in places. That could be a thing to google, wish I could remember. You did the right thing with the Disable full screen optimizations. Let's just be sure the GFX card is working and that some game will play, and move forward from there.
  18. Sorry for the late reply -- been away all day. Trying to get back into all this, but it's slow going. RE. Server -- had crashed to desktop; restarted to last autosave. I'm a little rusty in places, but I think it's all fired up and working again. Thanks for the report!
  19. I'll be there, would love to do some video recording, so I'll be a redundant rifleman in some big squad on the front lines or w/e Thanks TEDF!
  20. Yea, ya gotta do the updates if you reinstall, but you can select them all and install all of them at once.
  21. I've removed it from the starter maps rotations, and added it to the disabled maps list until it gets fixed or whatever. Thanks for the report!
  22. Working on a DIY project right now between other things; "wireless TrackIR TrackClip Pro"

I have an old TrackClip Pro with several broken plastic pieces, so I'm using it for all sorts of testing and feasibility checks before cutting up my new working TrackClip Pro.  I want to use a small modern Lithium Ion battery and have the ability to charge it through USB micro-A connection, with a charging circuit, and a power on/off switch, but a few of the batteries I've tested so far have me scratching my head.

If this simple 3x LED device normally operates on a USB 5V 1A connection, I really only need to replicate that.  But I've already had little success with the batteries I have around my house.  I may have to purchase a battery specifically for the project, as well as the charging circuit.  It all needs to be very small and lightweight.

I've read several DIY forums where people already did this exact thing, so I have plenty of ideas for products and procedures.  I'm very patient and I'd rather spend a few extra dollars if it can be a little more sturdy or look a little better, so time will tell how this turns out.  Will take pictures once there's something worth taking a picture of.

    3. =VG= SemlerPDX

      =VG= SemlerPDX

Yea, Kav - I have seen that.  I'm hoping to avoid anything that looks that janky.  In that image they're using a battery pack that is zip-tied to the headset, with the wire going across to the other side for weight balance.  Those are a few of the things I want to improve upon with my build, as I've seen many of these DIY projects and have a few goals of my own to improve them:

Goal 1:  That battery has enough power and the LED's draw so little that this pictured setup would be able to stay on for a few weeks continuously (I assume).  This means the battery could be smaller, lighter, able to be placed elsewhere. (edit:  the CR123A 3V Lithium battery that my NVG's use seems small enough and powerful enough that it could sit inside or alongside the body of the unit, and is the next thing I'll be testing)

Goal 2:  The TrackClip Pro does not weigh so much that offset weight would be needed, so the appropriate placement for anything heavy would be top center.  But I wish to avoid wires to a battery pack if possible, and have gutted out a fair bit of foam in the base that could house a charging circuit, a on/off switch, and a very small battery.  Thinner, more firm foam would take it's place.

Goal 3:  A lot of this is affixed with zip ties, and I do not intend to keep my TrackClip Pro attached to my headset at all times.  This is how the last one broke -- and I'd like to minimize the time it is on my head and therefore vulnerable to getting whacked.  Mine will be easily removable for storage when not in use.

      =VG= Kavelenko

Yeah that implementation does look a bit dodgy I agree but I was thinking along the lines of not having to do too much damage to the TrackIR or its wiring, I would not have cut mine. Also that clip of the TrackIR is as crappy as hell, you'd think they would have done a better job for the price they charge.

Anyway keep it up buddy, looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

  23. A private pilot once told me that spending time flying a small engine plane is 90% boredom and 10% sheer terror. From the looks of that full size 757 jet airliner landing at Toncontin, that statement can at times be universal. If you want a good laugh, check out AirForceProud on YouTube - his best vids are him doing VATSIM like ATC in general public FSX (Steam Edition) flight sim servers.
  24. Check your messages, I've given you Admin access so you can take care of these things. Read the wiki for all the things you can do with it. Be a good admin and be fair, but ban assholes like Eric and Finn as fast as you can! You already have TCAdmin so you can restart or update the server if needed. We will have to wait for Zadra to do his job to fix save progress. I am unsure how to, and I know he was just waiting for the next crash/restart to apply a fix. I'd message him but I'm confident he will fix it as soon as the next time he comes online here. P.S. Zadra uses a text translator, does not read or speak English - just FYI to avoid any confusion
  25. Very cool! I wish I could afford it! My Ma has 100 hours in a Cessna from back in the 1970's when she was a legal secretary for Lockheed, did a little schooling with her employee discount. I've gone through Private Pilot certification in MS Flight Simulator several times over the years, I'd be ecstatic to do it IRL. Totally jealous of you, mate!
