  1. Hi Guys, I just thought I'd post some footage of an earlier mod of Battlefield 2, Battlefield Play 4 FREE. This game is where I created my player name "Kavelenko". When you created an account you had to decide which side you would be on and it was a choice between Russia and the USA, so naturally I chose the former just to be different. So I googled a few Russian sounding surnames and stumbled across Kavelenko, which I found out later is really a Ukrainian name, oh well whatever. Anyway back to this BF2 mod, in Battlefield Play 4 Free there were four main classes of soldiers you could play, Assault. Medic, Engineer, and Recon. I made my reputation as a sniper and could routinely snipe players at the maximum range of 353 metres with an M95, a beast of a sniper rifle. The weapons they created in this game were just awesome compared to PR sniper rifles which are just total crap. Take a look for yourself. The server I played on was Australian, and it was full most days but it was limited to 16 vs 16 so yeah we were all playing deployment back then!! It was an Adrenalin pumping action filled game and very addictive to noobs until DICE decided to kill the whole thing off, the bastards!!! So after they did that I wandered around trying to find another game that was as much fun, I tried BF 2 Bad Company, BF3, BF4 all crap compared to BFP4F, finally found PR and the rest is history. Anyway here's some bad ass footage of me playing BFP4F. Enjoy! @InchPincherToo was a big fan too its a wonder we never played against each other. I owned virtually every sniper rifle variant, the SKS was my skirmishing weapon of choice, I loved the way you could drop claymores at will on the run and take out guys chasing you, also the satellite was cool for tracking down targets, but the bad ass weapon for long range sniping. was the M95. The M823 was good too. I was well over 10,000 sniper kills by the time I finished playing BFP4F. Best game ever! Medics were real cool because they had defibrillators to revive downed soldiers, Assault class had all the ammo and kick ass CQC weapons, I liked the Engineer too because they had the best mini machine gun of them all, the german-built UMP 45. That was lethal for CQC fighting! Here's my playlist:
  2. I read as many Marvel comics as I could get my hands on as a kid. I remember my teachers and parents saying, "It'll rot your brain, comics are not good for you", etc, etc. WTF did they know, Stan Lee became a millionaire and had an estimated net worth of $50-80 million!! R.I.P. Stan Lee.
  3. Even easier than that is to leave borders on, then you just drag each gauge to whatever position you want, even across to a second screen if you wish. Once you've got them in place, turn borders off.
  4. My real point is we don't need to change rules about kit stealing to protect Volod's ability to keep his MG. If someone steals a kit, you see it and you're an admin warn him, kick him if he does it again, ban him if he persists. Its pretty simple really. Sem is right we should not be condoning TKs for something admins can handle. I don't always trust someone who !reports a person allegedly stealing kits unless I witness it. Same thing with TKs. We are not expected to be everywhere at all times. If you're an admin do your job, if you're not report it.
  5. I don't agree entirely Double but I do understand the player's frustration. But where do you draw the line? Kits cannot be owned by anyone, if you are dead unless your medic revives you why should that kit remain yours because you happened to pick it from the crate before anyone else? There's also the assumption that the guy who has a specialist kit actually knows how to use it properly. Do we let a complete noob "own" the HAT kit because he got it first and the whole squad gets blown to hell because he has no damn clue how to kill a tank? So there's a whole lot more to kits than simply saying don't steal kits. The squad leader should have the right to tell someone to drop their kit if they think that member is incompetent and someone who has the skills should be using it. If you have a squad of noobs then it doesn't matter. The issue on the VG server is limiting kits for the entire team once the noobs have grabbed the HAT kits and left them on the battlefield we're all left with buggarall to defend ourselves. Happens quite a lot, not when the server is full I'll admit.
  6. Cheers Melon! Is it back to 6 squad members for full kit access?
  7. Ok no problems I thought it was a bug. So how many to get one HAT?
  8. Hey guys, I was on Muttrah Std the other day with 7 squad members and no-one could access a HAT kit, have there been changes to the kit restrictions or something? We kept getting "unavailable for your forces right now message". This makes life difficult enough when there are only 7 players on the server but I always thought any kit was accessible with 6 players in the squad?
  9. I still reckon the Harrier lands smoother and with more control than that F35, holy crap they must damage the under-carriage a lot!
  10. Good points there CptHawk, what I'd like to know before I screw up my default settings is what the hell do we use for picking up kits, using the T command, using H for local? Plus when a noob starts the game and cannot even talk using mumble , now we've got to remember not only our own key binds but we also need to remember the default ones? Not very practical imo. I get it done with WASD, no idea what he's whinging about.
  11. Stick ya key binds, HOTAS rules!! Love the accent though.
  12. I always take ages to login to a map, for me it sits on 15% for more than 9 minutes sometimes it used to take longer but since I've created a static IP address and set up my game ports for port forwarding its a lot better. I personally think the speed is down to an old crappy laptop which I'm resisting to upgrade because my mate BrokenArrow can login before a lot of other people because he's running a better spec machine.
  13. Was on Fallujah West and built a TOW, unfortunately you cannot get on it because it thinks you are trying to enter a vehicle! Nice one. Oh I see Stark mentioned this already so it looks like a common problem across several or all maps?
  14. Yeah you're right Colbalt, I just checked this out on my laptops, and PR will not let me join the same server, I get a error message, "Wrong CD-Hash" something like that. But I can login to a different PR server on one laptop and also login to a different PR server on the other laptop using the same internet connection. I just assumed I could the same server. I even tried a new PR account and same error. I'm not going to do an install of BMS to see whether this is a thing so if someone wants to test that out be my guest. Vanilla suggested using a VPN which might work, don't know I don't have an account.
  15. They should be able to create a static IP address for each computer and connect that way, I can connect to the PR servers on two separate computers using the same internet connection, never tried it with the BMS server but I imagine it could be done.
  16. No problem that's your bloody image that you gave me to use to set my BMS configuration!!!
  17. Hi Bamma, It could be those JanHans models that are affecting it or you could have one of the configuration settings out. Have a look and see that Same Acdata Files Required' is unchecked as below, and get back to us.
  18. If you did something like this on the Falklands Map I'd be real interested. So would Sem, I bet!
  19. Daniel and myself are flying BMS this coming Saturday and possibly Sunday. I'm in South Australia so we're hoping to meet up from 9:00 ZULU and fly a few sorties. Its been 3 months since I last flew BMS so I'll be a little rusty. If you want to join us meet up in TS this Saturday 28th.
  20. Sounds like Ranger's provider could be throttling his internet connection, apparently if a VPN increases your speed that's usually a good indicator. I've tried a VPN for a month and it actually slows my speed down.
  21. He got that from my speedtest.net results. According to this page the Veterans IP address is coming from the data center in Nuremberg. Not sure which server that would be on the speedtest.net page so just picked one.
