  1. I remember the original BF2 - it felt "small" compared to PR. Also, the nade spamming and dolphin diving bothered me, which is why I turned to BF2: Project Reality mod. In my opinion, BF4 is far more playable than BF2. But it's still a very cool game! I remember learning how to fly the Cobra on (IIRC) Dragon Valley offline, hoping to get into flying online. But, again, there was little teamwork online with active comms squads rare, just a bunch of grab-astic pieces of amphibious shit. I found the best cooperative team play in PR and PR COOP where people who lone-wolf are the rarity.
  2. Combined Ops is Arma 2 Original plus Operation Arrowhead - CO can play on OA but OA can't play on CO.... No worries, we can fix it, we can do anything - the webpanel is awesome, but I just need someone like PITN who knows the Arma 2 config stuff to help out.
  3. BLuDKLoT brought up that he'd like a few tours of duty on the old Domination by Xeno edited by Oniblood and I think we'd be able to run it on the 2nd Arma 2 server. Problem is, I stare at those lists of custom config lines that used to make perfect sense to me, and it's like I'm looking at chinese characters while drunk. I'm sure I could get it if I was the only one on the planet - but I know we gots peeps here like PITN who are currently active in that, and know their shit. TCAdmin is a sweet panel, we don't need to remove anything that's already running, just add a switch option for yet another game mode on that #2 A2 server. It already has options to start as an A2 ACE mission, and several others, but it is off cuz we're not using it right now, and we keep CPU usage to minimum by keeping our secondary servers off. They are still there, tho. We just need the old Domination mission file uploaded and configured. So... hey, PITN - what you doin this weekend? Wanna help add another custom command line to TCAdmin for the #2 Arma 2 server so we can swap over to the old VG Domi and turn that server on whenever we want? I can help with any of the TCAdmin stuff, I just don't know all the old Arma 2 config params and config edits that tell which map to load, etc... Or anyone who knows or remembers how to do this at VG using our TCAdmin panel - I just know that a few of them are busy or working (Poff, Savage, etc.). Whoever is available, whenever - let's make this happen.

    keepin it tight

Damn, that is tight!! Don't sneeze! haha
  5. Coders like Fastjack or Melon need to spend hundreds of hours coding the bots and updating the navmesh (whatever that exactly is) -- it's what Melon did to most all of the current maps people play on when PR 1.0 came out - it was going to launch without a COOP mode, so Melon got busy --- like biz---ay. Only a few people with the knowledge and some no longer have the patience or desire, AFAIK.
  6. We're talking in ts3 but I'll write it here for the record... if you go with Haswell Intel (LGA 1150) you can reuse your RAM - if you go with Skylake Intel (LGA 1151) it's DDR4 and you'll need new RAM.
  7. Falcon BMS Server restarted (actually it was around 7pm PST that I last restarted) - I must have missed this thread. Thanks for the report!
  8. Change the SSD to Samsung 850 EVO: Sequential Read/Write Performance : Up to 540MB/s and 520MB/s Respectively, and Random Read/Write IOPS Performance : Up to 97K and 88K Respectively retail $92 avg. Currently Selected 240GB SanDisk Z410 SSD is the middle set of numbers -- retail $71 avg. Sequential Read/Write3 Up to 535/410MB/s Up to 535/440MB/s Up to 535/445MB/s Random Read/Write3 Up to 36/54K IOPS Up to 36/66K IOPS Up to 37/68K IOPS It's worth the extra $20 to have the best SSD available right now - Samsung for the win! I use that same 550c Asetek liquid cooler, and it's quite as a mouse and rarely gets hot (maybe with games like GTAV or Arma 3). Also, if you can spring for the Pro Wiring, since you're not building your own PC, it might be worth the extra little $$ -- makes cleaning out the dust bunnies a breeze the way they route all the wires on the back side of the motherboard. also looks cooler, more airflow, lower temps by a small margin as a result. 600W is more than enough for this build, including the GTX 1070 beast of a GFX card... Should pull at least 120FPS in all games with gfx settings on ultra high, no need to dick around with lowering settings to get the games to play well. Just jam the sliders in most any game to max. A worthy investment, man - you'd only save around $300 if you were a PC builder and bought the parts separately, and for that $300 you're getting rush delivery, a warranty, and no headaches from the issues of building a PC (1 in 10 RAM sticks are DOA, I think that's the figure). Plus, if you can sell your old PC on craigslist or something, this build is even cheaper. Pro shit man.
  9. would prefer "veterans-gaming" if it allows the "-" hyphen symbol. If not, just leave well enough alone... And thank you!
  10. VG PR COOP Server Rules Nuff said. You will respect our rules while playing on our server. You will not use Mortars as a main attack asset - you will not fire danger close to friendly squads who have not requested fire support. I believe Jaki was more than patient with you. Basheer - if you continue this sort of behavior, you will be permanently removed from our server(s).
  11. Teamspeak is having issues, keeps restarting every hour or two.  At first, the bottom two channels would disappear when it restarts, now we're missing tons of channels.  For some reason, it reminds me of this crazy fantasy movie I saw in the 1980's called Never Ending Story -- the world is slowly disappearing into a mysterious fog because no one believes in the world of imagination anymore. :teddie_04:

NOOOOOOOOO!! Not getting that stuck in my head for another 20 years.... No offense, but I'm not clicking on that one... :)

  12. Sav said he'd give it some time when he gets back from his vacation in a week.
  13. I am looking forward to that game "Squad" -- it's being developed by PR Dev's AFAIK it's not finished yet. Might be a great team game. Also that Insurgency seems nice as well.
  14. The TS3 server and our game servers are down for now and we will post updates as we are able. Thank you for your patience.
  15. Very cool man! Thanks for linking the other guides as well! These things are so helpful to players. Thanks for taking the time to flesh out a VG specific guide!
  16. Restarted to Day 1. BTW - the DMZ is a troubleshooting step to check: "Can he connect at all?" and if so, "What part of the modem is blocking it?" and to fix that block as running a PC in a DMZ is absolutely a massive safety and security risk, a PC in a DMZ can be a portal to every computer on the same network, it is just plain not good. Again, only for a troubleshooting test... If he can get through while in DMZ, he needs to check everything from port forwarding to NAT filtering to QoS packet scheduling and more to find the way to allow the game to run through the modem. DMZ is not a solution, though I'm glad to hear he got a chance to fly online! Now that he's hooked, let's get him set up proper (and safe!!).
  17. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse - and not reason enough to unban you. You intentionally trolled our server, and by our rules that is a permanent ban. I will be modifying the 24 hour ban to make it permanent. Unban request denied.
  18. Looks like a 530D -- pretty large payload in the 530's, something like 65 lb frag warheads and speeds of around Mach 5. Awesome screenshot!!
  19. Been loving Fallout 4, and I know it has a ton of popular mods, some that add things, some that fix things -- and I do want to just play the game through once, with no mods, as I know the game has TONS of replay value and mods only add to that.

But this issue of not knowing what my character is going to say when I choose a dialogue option is very frustrating.  Oniblood turned me on to the Nexus mod site to find the mod that shows exactly what you will say when you choose an option, and I am a very happy camper!!  Gonna keep playing the game with this one mod, and I gotta share the info for those who might not know it cuz it's just that helpful!! Huge thanks to these two modders!

Here's a screenshot from my current mission, a long dialogue back-and-forth with the Synth Detective - and I am so happy I can see the full dialogue now:

That indeed Jack, but I kinda wouda loved the mod to have the text that the guy is gonna say next to the vannila choices,e.g. Have the vannilla choices then in brackets the words that he is gonna say. Just my opinion tough...

After using this for awhile, I've learned that the vanilla choices are always still there - it's the first part of the extended choices.  In the picture above, for example, the vanilla choices are:  "Why do you ask?" "Doesn't really matter." "I don't know, Nick." and "Yeah, I'm alright"
So basically, the vanilla choices are the first part of what he is going to say.  With this mod, it also still shows the vanilla choice of "Sarcastic" in brackets before that choice, when it is one of the choices.

Ok, didn't know that. I did play F4 before and I wasn't certain what my character is going to say at each of thoose options. Shure I got a small glimps of it but maybe it woud turn out to be something I didn't want...
