  1. First the bad news then good news... I stopped the server this morning (Day 8) to repair the Day 1 save files and (current save) Day 8 files - one time, when re-loading the other, I made the requisite changes and then proceeded to overwrite the Day 8 save file with the Day 1 campaign. All that effort twice, only to end up with a proper Day 1 save - UG! So, I've lost the Campaign progress so far and have had to revert to Day 1 again, albeit with all the changes we wanted. The good news: I was able to change the weather as requested to have 90% reasonable skies leaving two 5% chances for inclement and poor weathers respectively. I've also gone through each airbase to double check our AI vs Player squadron setups. I did find a few issues and I've corrected them, and while I was doing it, I was noting each FS# and Airbase name for the requested 'official list'. There were no 40's for the players at Kunsan like we used to have, so I've removed the 80th from AI/HQ fragging, and Seosan had a few AI FS's HQ fragged and I've turned that off. Seosan should now have a very low volume of AI activity, if any at all, which is how we've run Seosan for years to give players priority at that airbase in everything from taxi to landings (especially helpful for newcomers). Here's the list you asked for, please note and post up if you ever find the server fragging different (i.e. "after server disruptions") This is not a complete list of all squadrons at these airbases, only the player squadrons (not fragged by HQ): Choongwon 600th FS F-16CM-52 908th TS KC-135 (AI Controlled/HQ Fragged)* 910th TS KC-10 (AI Controlled/HQ Fragged)* *to be used (not flown) by players for AAR support in missions Kunsan 80th FS -- F-16CM Block 40 601st FS -- F-16CM Block 52 602nd FS -- KF-16CM Block 52 Carrier VINSON 603rd FS -- F/A-18C 604th FS -- F/A-18E Osan 36th FS -- F-16CM Block 40 605th FS -- F-16CM Block 52 606th FS -- KF-16CM Block 52 Seosan 120th -- KF-16CM Block 52 157th -- KF-16CM Block 52 607th -- F-16CM Block 52 608th -- KF-16CM Block 52
  2. Thank you again!! I've uploaded the new Campaign and restarted the server to Day 1. It's live now - spread the word!
  3. I forgot about the keyfile changes when I updated. My personal set is Read Only, I started up the sim, flew an instant action and all my HOTAS and MFD controller commands still worked the same. Odd. I'm gonna go through the old and new keyfiles side by side to see if any of the DX commands I use on my controls have changed, but I might have gotten lucky with my particular setup.
  4. Okay - server is updated and running Update 2! Campaign is on Day 1. We'll be changing/updating the Campaign save soon, see below... I still need some help with the day 1 save file - we had a few custom options I wasn't able to recreate. The Carrier group that has a few player squadrons (also I think it was tweaked to be there day 1?) and a few other squadrons that were added here and there. I've attached an rar file with the Day 1 save file and a folder with pictures of the customized airbases and the added squadrons. I believe Brain added the tankers, but not sure who added the other player squadrons in the list. Whoever can help, it's much appreciated! Master VG Day 1.rar

    Turbo tub

Airbats rocks!! So glad he is trying to make a server you can play on from all the way down there in Australia Land!! Best of luck to you all - need any technical help, I'm available!
  6. This is for when you want to go boating but might want to take a nap later in the day?
  7. We'd like to add a few client side mod keys to the 2nd Arma 3 server (Insurgency) and I tried a few times but failed.  I have no idea what I was doing wrong, literally trying to drop key files in the key folder from TeamViewer File Manager, RDP, or even FTP.  Kinda frustrating - I must be doing something wrong.

Contact me when you can, maybe you know how.  They want st_hud, st_movement (if available), JSRS, and something called badbensonEM.

    Thanks!

(also, Nvram said something in chat "PITN Check your steam"  - whatever that means. maybe he sent u a message.

  8. Server is going down for the update - I will need to remake the Campaign file - I will post up when it is complete.
  9. I am going to need some time to re-create the server campaign and config files for U2 - I've got the file now, I'll get it together later today. For now, the server had crashed so I restarted it, still running 4.33 U1 for today. Also, I saw some config changes in the changelog that look like additions to the server.cfg file (edit: you are right, line for line, like the installer stated - no config changes). Either way, I'm gonna be backing up certain files before I do the update so I have references to what we use now.
  10. Falcon BMS is pretty limited - and I don't know any coders these days. If this were Arma, I'd be able to crack out a request like this in a weekend.... Anyone know any way to do this?
  11. It's a server issue, not a game issue - this is why TS3 crashed as well as PR. I'm looking into it now. * ... and yea, it just happened again. We'll keep you all posted as we work through this
  12. You are assuming that it is okay to use the Mortars as a main attack asset. You may not use the Mortars on our server in the ways you describe. I understand English is not your first language, but we already have very clear rules regarding use of Mortars on this server, and I have already directed you to those rules. You are essentially taking shots in the dark with your Mortar fire, you have no requests for support, and you failed to cease fire when there were friendly troops nearby and they got killed. When you have a spotter or you have requests for fire from Squad Leaders, you can be sure you will be firing a few shots safely and effectively. *(You do not keep firing shots or that is spamming). If you use the Mortars in this way, you will be within the rules. The rules are already very clear and well written - once again, they state: 1. Using the Mortar as a main attack asset, spamming, or ineffective fire that results in team killing will result in your immediate removal from our servers. It's vital you communicate with ground forces to effectively use this asset. If you're deemed a nuisance player, or if you're continuing with the same behavior, you will be banned from our servers. Mortars are an over powered asset that have a wide area of effect and must be used properly with communication and teamwork or teamkills will inevitably result at some point. Do not create another post on this topic -- the issue is not with our rules or how they are written, it is with your misunderstanding of them -- do not ignore what several have already told you in clarifying the rules.
  13. For the record, there are clear rules for Mortars, and we are currently revising the PR Rules list. Here are the Mortar rules, the first one is the original, followed by the revised version - both will give you the details you misunderstand. Mortars are not to be used as a main attack asset operated by a sole individual who is firing without any communication or Fire Support requests. This is a COOP server, which means Teamwork and Communication are most important. The admins have said what they need to -- we will wait for an admin to post up that you have been unbanned. Please be patient.
  14. I never found them - didn't even know we had any anti-ship missiles in the Korean Campaign. Good to know! Where is the 157th based?
  15. I just remade the Reputation system here on the website to include many of the ribbons from the last website.  18 Levels just like the content count ranks.  Hope people enjoy it!  Feedback and constructive criticism is welcome.

I have a little question, do just posts affect your rank or rep points too?

Reputation is based on those green and red "Up" and "Down" arrows - the count shows on your profile.  The Forum Rank is based on Content Count, also shown on your profile.  They are separate numbers and systems.

  16. It helps if you get a players GUID - if you can screenshot it, it will help, it takes time the other way (looking through the logs) Type in: #beclient players and then get a screenshot - I believe you can use the up and down arrows in the text chat to scroll up if the list is long. Took me awhile to find his name in the logs, but he's banned now. /locked
  17. So, which one of you knows HTML and CSS? Any friends or friends of friends who know? That would be needed in order to implement that. I'd also like to see it implemented, but it would take some coding. I could fumble through it for weeks and weeks, learning as I go, I'm fairly good with LUA and Java at this point but I know only the basics of CSS and HTML and this is at least an intermediate coding project. Any takers?

  19. I was thinking this might look better for the top portion: Rules Enforcement: Standard Operating Procedure If you violate our rules expect to be punished. The rules below are enforced by our admin team who adhere to strict guidelines. If you feel you have been punished unfairly by one of our server admins, or wish to report a player, post here: Complaints/Report Disruptive Players When no PR Admins are online or in the TS3 Channels, use the !R report command in game. If you need to make a private report, message TEDF, MelonMuncher, SemlerPDX, or BLuDKLoT Project Reality Unban Requests go here: PR Unban Requests (Start a New Topic - do not reply to other unban threads) (and then this bit at the very bottom after the last rule) Project Reality Unban Requests go here: PR Unban Requests (Start a New Topic - do not reply to other unban threads) If you would like to Appeal your Ban, please provide the following information: 1. Banned Username 2. When did this happen? 3. Reason you were banned 4. Describe the events leading up to your ban ( how did this occur and why? ) 5. Personal Statement ( Why should we unban you? ) As a courtesy we look into all unban requests. The nature of the offense and the information you provide in your personal statement will determine the final outcome of your Appeal. (the admin who banned you must also agree to the terms) We try to resolve all bans within 72 hours of the Appeal. All unbanned individuals will be placed on a watch list for 30 days. If any further issues occur during this time, your Ban will be reinstated and any future appeals will be denied...permanently.
  20. Done - but it could look better - I feel like I ruined the very nice looking rules list by adding that to the top the way I did. Any ideas to make it look better, or better wording, or maybe whether it should be move to the bottom of the list... or maybe if we should just jot down the Appeals format at the bottom instead of linking people to it AND the unban requests forum... feel free to change it or provide input. Also, about the end bit, "False Allegations", I feel it needs to be expanded in a small way. It comes up very rarely, but I've seen it happen a handful of times over the years, and it just did again: A player bypasses our system, after a short period of time has passed (often following a denied ban appeal) someone will misrepresent themselves as someone else or use certain subversive means to minimize or outright mis-tell the events leading to their ban and if not enough documentation is found or research performed by Admins, a simple unban can be issued to minor and major violators who have indeed been given a "permanent ban". It is rare, but we cannot allow any incident where a previously denied unban appeal is not referenced or know in this type of "second appeal" - though they do fly under the radar once in awhile. "Going to Mom cuz she will say 'Yes' after you already got a 'No' from Dad" All VG Clan Members who are PR Admins must check the website periodically, and preferably as often as necessary, to watch for posts in the VG Admin section of the forum as well as PR info and unban requests that may date back some time or even those that already have been addressed - things drop off the Top 5 on the front page fast, you must check the forum topics themselves from time to time. Obviously, non-VG PR Admins need to be checking the PR forum sections often as well. **Also note that when we hand out a permanent ban to a player on the PR server, in some cases it is not automatically a ban from all of our servers until that becomes necessary - I can't stress it enough that this system has rarely been abused and we do not and should not automatically add that person's name, IP and UID's to our site, TS3, or other game server's banlists for every offense unless needed or until we have to - BUT such a player using our other servers is certainly on a permanent probation for all purposes. This means that any questionable actions or immature behaviors on any of these other servers will get them more attention, leading to further bans up to and including a FULL and permanent ban from the site, TS3, and every server we have a banlist for. ***obviously this is not applicable to, for example, the racist or the mass teamkiller or the intentional griefer - but only to the lesser offenders who became banned permanently for an action or behavior. Between the Regular Player and the Intentional Teamkiller is the grey area where the Nuisance Player exists - and they make it difficult for players to enjoy a mature teamwork based game without disruptions. A player who has been banned from one of our servers permanently who begins to make a proper name for themselves as a Regular player on OTHER servers DOES NOT lower or diminish their current standing on the server where they were permanently banned from, nor does a person who slides under the radar with a second unban appeal that doesn't take into account the previously denied one. This is because in order to remain fair and ethical to all players, VG Admins involved in Rules Enforcement must not hand out special treatment, unilateral pardons or blind forgiveness irrespective of prior decisions and lacking input from any admins involved in those decisions. A person who receives an unban from a 'permanent ban' status is especially subject to a subsequent permanent probation, they can and should be banned again if they exhibit any continued immature behaviors, actions, or disruptions on our servers. We are seeking a mature, friendly, and disruption free gaming environment, and while age is not a factor that is regularly enforced here, we don't need immature kids on our servers - anyone else who handles themselves in a kind and mature manner is welcome, even if they were 12 years old, for example. Most all of us are familiar with the type of lazy, insincere, and disrespectful unban requests that come around, and also those that are merely written by someone with a language barrier or genuine misunderstanding/naivety -- the first group often shows their true rotten colors after a few questions or interactions with them in their unban posts, just like the second group demonstrates the truth (or lack thereof) in their mistake or action on the server after a little back and forth, but at all times, there will be certain people who willfully attempt to misrepresent themselves or the facts to a degree that is outright contemptuous of the rules. If a person is deserving of a second look at their unban request, to be fair to all people who are banned, Admins have a responsibility to reference and include all previous posts, logs, or other Admins previously involved, and to make notice if any of these things were missing or unavailable -- not that the rights of fairness to all the people we've had to ban seems to matter so much at first glance, but it truly is the heart of fairness and our goal to be honorable to our community and each other as well. If someone, after a period of time, has genuinely matured and changed, and decides to attempt to appeal their ban once again with respect and a proper ownership of their words and actions, it will be open to the discussion of Admins, but including involved Admins and quoted references to all previous discussions. So, I've added Misrepresentation to the False Allegations section at the bottom, open to edits or changes to the details: False Allegations & Misrepresentation (Lying) If you lie to get another player kicked or banned you will be banned instead. If you misrepresent yourself as someone else or use any type of subversive means to present the facts or minimize to a large degree the events leading to a ban you are appealing, you will be banned from all VG servers.
  21. I've changed the wording on this line from Assets & Vehicles, from the Armor section. Nit picky, I know, but "fire support" refers to indirect fire such as cannons or artillery used to support infantry, and the APC, IFV and AAVP are "direct fire" vehicles which attack in support of infantry while having a direct line of sight to the opposition. changed to:
  22. First weekend of Fall had two of the last hot sunny days of the Summer - I went up to Long Beach, Washington to hang out with my cousin. It's about a 3 hour drive from Portland.
Nothin like seeing the sun set on the Pacific Ocean. Sunday night's was beautiful.
Got some fresh salt water taffy to share with my fellow landlubbers back home.
    Good times!
