There's more to it than that: Lack of transport on a huge map Actually I'd say it might be the distance not the amount of vehicles but still a logistic nightmare Trees and mostly those French bushes 2 logis that take for ever to resupply and drive back to the battle Bots shooting Garands as quick as AKs or M4s The insane amount of enemy armor that we can't counter because we have no supplies and the friendly tanks just get LATed through trees Not seeing any enemies on the first few flags... ...that leads to only CAS having fun for most part Of course if a tank is hit and needs repairs it takes ages just to get a repair from a logi (and even longer to get to main and back) There's probably some more staff too. I think that's sadly not possible. The Vietnam maps didn't really change. We adapted our tactics, we can use smoke now, but most of them are maps with at least some cover, terrain changes and most importantly trans helis and logis that allow for quick transport and a proper supply chain. On Kassel there is of course some cover but between the objectives there is just an open field (and some trees but that doesn't really help). On Vietnam maps we can just call a trans heli to not waste time trying to cross an open field but that's not possible on Kassel. The change I think would be the best is making a smaller layout for it. It would concentrate the enemies more and allow for better logistics. But of course as this is not a game made by a multi-million dollar company but by DEVs working quarter-time for free, we can't expect everything to be perfect. Suggestions and discussion are always great but we need to also remember that those people have a ton of other staff to do. Also probably dragging LangMaster into this thread would help to show his perspective on those issues.
  2. From my experience if you play the singleplayer missions you can learn basics in an hour and some more complicated stuff in the rest of the missions. And I haven't played any of the ArmA games before.

  8. Marksmen and Garands bots can shoot way too quick. basically like a normal M4 or aks. Makes all WW2 maps even more annoying.
  9. Are the bot AA kits supposed to have unlimited supply of ammo? Or at least more than one missile? Because if so it's very annoying and should be changed. They can already do a lot using just one missile.
  10. Server is rubberbanding for a lot of people. Some have unstable ping, some have ping 4x higher than usually. Don't know what is going on. Maybe something to do with the new AI scripts?
  11. LATs still too accurate. HATs seem fine for now ( or maybe its just less of those). A ton of enemies including AT keep killing people the millisecond they peek a corner. Edit: Nvm HATs are too accurate too
  12. Well see that's the problem right there. You can still hover like 200 meters above the ground and away and the bots will not target you. This is problematic for the players that actually try to get engaged on closer ranges or lower altitudes.
  13. I'm enjoying the changes. Finally there's something new about how the bots play. The only thing I noticed that annoys me is the accuracy of LATs (or maybe I'm just very unlucky). It seems to me that no matter how quick I move or how far I am from the LAT, it always manages to hit me. Also the bots prefiring is a problem, but it has been for ages so I guess it's not easily fixable.
  14. Every one minute or so we get this error for every player in the server. No idea what it means just letting the smart people know.
  15. PT-76 hits helicopters no matter what. Looks like it maybe has aa ai logic or something. I think it may have been a problem before too but I'm not sure.
  16. If you mean the F-16's bombs, they have been broken earlier. Even before 1.7 the kills didn't count if we killed something with the bomb on Bijar. And personally I am 100% positive I didn't drop bombs on friendlies. Just saying though to make sure you know the bombs were broken before.
  17. You are missing my point. I like hard maps, but not the kind of hard that requires perfect actions of the hole team to even play more than 10 mins. I prefer hard maps that are hard because of a lot of enemy assets or/and lack of friendly resources or just terrain working to our disadvantage. Sure, and Charlie's can be finished in 15 minutes, but that doesn't really prove anything. Well I wish you good luck, but probably not a lot of admins will want to set this map since it can be a waste of time and loss of a lot of players.
  18. That sucks. Most of the time we will lose it not even because of wrong decisions but random events leading to and during the map. And every time we just lose 15 minutes. Lose a few ppl on map load? 15 minutes and probably a few more players lost. Got a teamkiller at the beginning? 15 minutes lost. Got a slow loading team? 15 minutes lost. Driver's or SL's game crashes? 15 minutes lost. And I don't care if we lose. I just want to have fun playing games and this map will be either tryharding or losing 15 mikes, neither of those are fun. So the only thing this change will achieve is convincing more ppl not to play this map.
