SavageCDN =VG= LAN_WROTE ... Just checked mine is OK (667 hours in Arma?? I need a life..lol) Me too...858 hours in Arma and avg. 29+ hours per week. I think it's pretty clear that Arma (and VG) is my life....lol After my family stops playing Monopoly and sells that piece of shit dump on Baltic Avenue, I imagine I'll have even more time to play and improve my favorite PC game. At least I had the good sense to purchase it as a DVD-ROM, as I'm sure I'd go ape-shit if I had session logging problems like you are having, Sarge. I'll keep my "ears" open, but sounds like it could be a personal problem. Perhaps the Steam port got closed again on modem/router? Very odd.....try checking there first, then firewall ports, etc. You can speed tests and route traces online. Good luck, brother. !cheers

Depending on the games you play, there are some specific hardware upgrades that will do well. For Arma, 8GB of data streams off the Hard Drive during gameplay, so many have installed another hard drive, like me, and installed the game there. Some have even used a OCZ SSD (hard drive) to install Arma too, like Savage's lucky arse. I would also add that the hard drives I use for my OS in RAID-0 are Seagate Barracuda's, and their beauty lies in their 16MB buffer and 7200RPM speed. IMO the best consumor priced hard drives for a RAID setup. (RAID-0 is striped array, half data on one drive, half on the other for a 2x read/write performance boost) Summary: A new GFX card is a great idea, and will show instant improvement, but also examine how the data gets to it. You have a great CPU for now, RAM is fine, but can you increase the stream of data beween the 3 key parts up to the limits of the Mother Board? Guess it depends on the games you play. After building an Arma system, I realize that it eats all other games for breakfast...Arma is THE system pusher to date. \

Nice system! I see the desk has a PC coffin on the lower left. Time to get out the skill saw and give it a 120mm fan in the back, perhaps cut out a slat or two on the door and mount filter foam.... Then again, maybe your PC won't overheat in there... I WANT THAT VID CARD! Timing was bad when I got the 6770, two weeks later, they were all gone and 6870 was nearly the same price! !cheers

I love PDF's for their potential as instructional manuals. Like the one for Project Reality. This is an excellent guide you put up here, I'm now installing the program and am wondering if this is something I start before I start Arma or if it makes a Shortcut I can place on my desktop/taskbar/startmenu. I use many custom shortcuts on my desktop, they are for Scripting/Editing, or jumping straight to one server or another on load.

I just got Foxit installed on my gaming PC, but what is the name of a decent writer? I'm certainly hoping it has an interface similar to MS Publisher or that series of writers.

NEVER install addons by copying their contents to your Arma Addons folder!!! ]This is not difficult: When you download a Mod or Map, it is a RAR or ZIP. Look inside it for the @THISMODNAME Folder. Copy and Paste that into the Bohemia Interactive Arma Program Folder. Simple. Then either make a shortcut with a command line like this: "A:\Programs (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\arma2OA.exe" -mod=@NAMEOFMOD Obviously, the path to the program file will differ on your PC, but this isn't rocket science here and we all will help you every step of the way. If some dingus submits their Mod or Map for download, and it's just a bunch of PBO files, they are truly the saddest sack, but it does happen. When it does, you have to finish their homework for them, and then turn it in to the teacher with your name on it. !lol Sorry for the non-sequitur. Wecome to the club, beetlebaily1! Glad to hear you got your BMS sorted. I'm sure there are plenty more, but I can say that =VG= Poffadder and myself are old school MS FS pilots. Of course, I never graduated from a Cessna and Lear Jet, whereas =VG= Poffadder flies everything, including them big bad 747's. He and I both have FSX, but again, he's invested in hundreds of dollars in addons and sceneries. Iffn has been getting into Microsoft Flight Sim X with Poff, and they've been flying in Multiplayer via Hamachi. I keep nagging at Poffadder to make a picture profile here of his Screenshots - I have several as my desktop background and I must say, they are the BEST in-game shots from any game I've ever seen! People come into my office and see the desktop thinking it was a photograph from the internet of a REAL airplane over a real city. I'm sure Poff will be around more often soon, he's finishing up with first semester exams atm. Great to have you guys around! !cheers

Welcome and good luck, EagleIII! Say, it does sound like you are gonna need to create a profile for that X36. I feel for you, HOTAS set-up in Falcon/BMS can take awile. This, of course, is why we are trying to assemble the largest section of Downloadable Joystick Profiles on the internet. As we do not have your X36 version, might I ask that you upload your Joystick Profile and add it to the DownLoads when you are done? This will ensure that the very next person that asks about an X36 Profile has a chance to DL a Preset Example to use/modify. Thanks in advance, and have fun with BMS! !fans

then why, clippy, did you ask me for info on how to manually and completely uninstall your Arma game so you can reinstall it proper? !lol Oh wait, it was someone else who did....lololol Really, though, I'd meant to post this info up for some time as it gets redundant walking people through it as I have more than a few times to repair installations. Was for our good friend, tankmaster, specifically. And any who need to reinstall in the future.

We need a post specifically about Arma 2 lauchers, preferably with screenshots, and featuring instructions and pics for most the popular ones, or at least the most popular one. This would be a great news item, but I am a bit busy at the moment, and when I'm done I'll be busy connecting all my social network/blog/YouTube things so I can cross post all the info and vids from the new CLAfghan mission and for VG. Also, I still need to contact Raptor to see where he left off before he left VG, and perhaps get the files from him or re-do the whole thing myself.
