Guest Guest Chaz Posted October 5, 2010 at 03:08 PM Guest Report Share Posted October 5, 2010 at 03:08 PM Was able to download the beta via a torrent at a respectable speed. Here is a video of ramp, engine start, takeoff and cruising around. Nothing epic. Just toolin' around. Still lots of settings to be tweaked. Iffn Posted October 6, 2010 at 10:22 PM Report Share Posted October 6, 2010 at 10:22 PM Awsome move, keep going !amazedI had some issues with my joystick, my framerate is pretty low (on medium settings) and the plane is shaking much more than the ff/f4af planes but i think i can fix these problems in the next few days. The game might realy have potential to attract a lot of virtual pilots, who are waiting for a new flight sim since the release of f4af or il2, especially hen they connect it with DCS Black Shark, an Apache or even a M1 Abrams simulator. Guest Guest Chaz Posted October 7, 2010 at 10:49 PM Guest Report Share Posted October 7, 2010 at 10:49 PM If VG plans to "support" this sim, how about a Digital Combat Simulator forum with an A-10C subfourm, multiplayer, etc?

=VG= BLuDKLoT Posted November 22, 2010 at 12:30 AM Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 at 12:30 AM Cool!i haven't given A10 much love, I didnt like the flight model. It was to bouncy. I might try 3 and see if its any better but we FF5 all the time :)
Guest Guest Chaz Posted November 22, 2010 at 03:16 PM Guest Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 at 03:16 PM Beta 3 runs much smoother. But I agree, the flight model leaves something to be desired. I had to adjust my axis and trim settings to minimize the bouncy effect. As you said, there's always FF5!
Iffn Posted November 22, 2010 at 05:14 PM Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 at 05:14 PM @flight model:Feels right for me. The A-10 isn't supposed to be a nice plane to fly like the f-16.But i need the new version, i'm running it with 10fps on the lowest settings right now which isn't realy something to enjoy. And btw, who has it?-Chaz-BLuDKLoT-Iffn-jackless89-Aspanybody else? Asp Posted November 22, 2010 at 06:40 PM Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 at 06:40 PM I'm digging the flight model. It has stability augumentation but that is about 7 % of F-16 fly by wire FCS.break:dl latest FF5 and patch on new complicator but it displays mostly jumbled, scrambled hash of colors then CTD. My new system is:Dell studio xps 8100Windows 7 Home 64 biti7 870 (2.96 GHz)6 GB DDR3 SDRAMSeagate 750 GB SATA HDD21" flat panel displaySapphire Radeon 5670 1GB 256 bit video adapterAny suggestions to resolve much appreciated.Asp
=VG= BLuDKLoT Posted November 22, 2010 at 06:55 PM Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 at 06:55 PM You need to reinstall man, make sure you uninstall FF via the uninstaller in the main FF folder then reboot.reinstall in this order:1. 5.5 Installer2. 5.5.3 Patch3. Cockpit PackNotes: At the end of the 5.5 install, it will ask you if you want to run the config editor, select yes. Then just click apply and exit. Also, do NOT open FF at any point during the installs. Just run them one after the other. Once you have all 3 installed, open the game and adjust your settings. If you're still having issues let me know.
RAR_Dingo Posted November 22, 2010 at 08:41 PM Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 at 08:41 PM If that doesn't work, try running in 32 bit mode (like this machine), found it runs older apps & games much better.I also run win 7 in XP mode. =VG= BLuDKLoT Posted November 22, 2010 at 09:07 PM Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 at 09:07 PM Might try that first, see if it works if you're sure you installed properly.

Bones Posted February 10, 2011 at 03:52 PM Report Share Posted February 10, 2011 at 03:52 PM BLuDKLoT LAN_WROTE ...Cool!i haven't given A10 much love, I didnt like the flight model. It was to bouncy. I might try 3 and see if its any better but we FF5 all the time :)Blud,Go into your stick settings for Pitch and Roll and adjust the curves. Depending on your HOTAS the default settings can be a little to "agressive". One thing to keep in mind is that unlike many of the older flight sims (Falcon, FF5, Jane's etc) you have to actually (just like IRL) trim your aircraft to maintain level flight and desired speed at Angels, not just when your aircraft takes damage. This is one thing that most digital pilots have never had to do before.
=VG= BLuDKLoT Posted February 10, 2011 at 07:09 PM Report Share Posted February 10, 2011 at 07:09 PM Do you have a profile I can use?
Bones Posted February 10, 2011 at 07:15 PM Report Share Posted February 10, 2011 at 07:15 PM What HOTAS are you using? I can find one for you as long as I know what you are working with. Or I can hop online with you and talk you through all the important key mappings. As you know everyone has their own preferences but I am willing to help out.
