Get ready to rumble folks! Sem's ready to kick butt, bring yer diapers along on the first mission ROFL! I found some help from this thread so I can fly Helis in Squad with my joystick for anyone interested. You might have to check "Hidden items" in file manager to find the file though. Seems to work straight out of the box except for the collective which is controlled by the left shift key (up) and the left ctrl key (down). I got this working with my HOTAS Warthog, just needed to add the lines below to get it to work. Might need to add an S curve to smooth out landing though, its pretty rough. My version:

Check your steam account @=VG= SemlerPDX

@=VG= SemlerPDXI have DCS A-10C too but I never use it, I just thought he might have been posting in the wrong section, my bad. BMS Falcon 4.0 is the ducks guts @=VG= keed, get your ass into an F-16 see you at Angels 5.

Are you flying DCS or BMS?

A good place to start would be the Game Server Administration Guidelines that @=VG= keedposted previously, generally I would say that =VG= already complies with most of what is posted in that article even though it was last updated 2017. To your point @Hoops0320re: vehicle claiming:

Awesome stuff, I agree lets get it up and try it out, I'm sure it will become obvious what rules will need to be in place after a few weeks. We could start with the PR model for rules but with Squad being a Player vs Player platform we'll need to modify it accordingly.

We've got more than 20+ admins out of 33 players who potentially own Squad or did I miss something? The following suggests you need a licence to show up on the primary server list, otherwise it will be on the custom server list. How much will this cost to get a server up and running? What will the server licensing system do? The system will allow the development team to issue server licenses to reliable teamwork oriented communities & clans, which will cause their servers to be shown in the primary server list in game. This license will come in the form of a key which needs to be listed in the server’s config files. All other servers which don’t have a license key will be shown on a second custom servers menu tab. The second tab is meant to show the full list of servers, and will be the place where servers with custom rules and mods are listed.

Did you manage to create and join a mission Daniel?

Hey guys, I was on the BMS server earlier, fragged a flight out of Seosan but it wouldn't let me start the mission. Logged out and tried again, same thing. Does it need a reset?

If you have TrackIR5 its even better, just roll my head to the side and peek around corners, I still get my head shot off though rofl! I was on an Aussie Squad server last night because the ping was good for me, server was full but compared to PR the communication is not as good, may have been the squad I was in. I think we could easily find a niche in the Squad community just by doing what we do here at =VG= ; communicate well. It would not take long to bring this game up to speed. I don't like the map, its too cluttered because the icons are huge, We need to get together and do some basic training perhaps on a quiet server so we don't annoy anyone?

Yep sounds good to me.

The squad servers I've played on so far have been pretty disorganized, they mostly play like they do in Counter Strike, all individuals shooting anything that moves and little to no team work. The =VG= mentality could easily attract players to the game even if you based it on the current PR standards. I need to play a few more games to bring myself up to speed with the comms, and weapons in a combat situation, but its pretty difficult to do with guys who cant or won't communicate like we do in PR. If you're up for a few games together Keed name the server and time and I'll be there! Kav

Its the Battle Star Galactica fleeing from the Cylons!! ROFL! FFS!
-
Add dog tags to the list!

Ok I thought I would put together a poll to gauge the interest in SQUAD from the members on this =VG= Forum. lets see how many are actively playing SQUAD or might be interested.
-
Yeah sucks in the communications department, I'm creating a voice attack profile for ARMA which changes channels based on my voice commands, that might be useful. That cuts out the need to cycle through the channels to get to the one you want. See what you've started here Sem!

Thanks for organizing that event @=VG= Sausag3, it was my first ARMA 3 event and I had a ball or should I say "balls"? It was a lot of fun and I know you and the guys put in a lot of effort to make it happen, top job!! I was pretty sceptical that we would make it past RV1 but we kicked ass and completed the entire mission, even though you nuked us all at the end! Permission to kill the commander!!!? Awesome team work all round. Well worth the pain in the ass of downloading every damn mod on steam rofl! Well done! Kav

I logged in ok, and checked it out.

My noobie Helicopter Training base.

I agree with all these comments in general because the assumption here is that the squad leader of a heavy asset squad is a responsible player and playing the game in the right "spirit". Sure, kick players who are deliberately not doing what they're told or wasting assets etc but also allow new players to join your squads and learn how to play the game (exception perhaps noob pilots). They are never going to learn without being in an environment where they can see how to behave and work together. So yep I agree that the squad leader has the right to decide who stays in the squad but what about the scenario where the squad leader is incompetent or kicking the entire squad because the players don't quite meet their expectations? That to me, is the scenario where the admins need to determine the situation and perhaps resign that particular SL for disrupting the "TEAM". That's the 'gray' area where we leave it to the discretion of the admins who are on to keep an eye on anyone adversely disrupting game play.

Thanks @=VG= l3RY4N that was a very useful page you set up.

I managed to download the mods your server requires last night and got on to it for a few minutes, looks good so far Sausag3! Kav

Why do we need so many mods? You may need to resign me, I don't really want to fill my computer up with crap!
