  1. Hi chaps, As some already know, I have done series of mini events during some of the evenings on the past few weeks. The events consist mostly of VIP rescues or just simply having civilians running around the city, forcing BLUEFOR to double and triple check their targets before firing. On bigger maps I sometimes set up additional challenges, like extra stationary AA/AT positions which the BLUEFOR needs to destroy - Once down, they won't be rebuild. The main reasons for those mini events are : 1. To bring a little change to the everyday turkey shooting and flag capture 2. To prepeare and teach COOP only players the Deployment environment, Mainly the insurgency gamemode, where you have to check your targets as insurgents do have civilians running around and killing just 2-3 may cause your team to lose the round. As we already know, there are and there will forever be trolls on the COOP who try their very best to ruin the game for others. And that's the reason I'm making this post. If it's ok with everybody, I would like to do a few changes to the COOP server rulebook, that takes effect only when these mini events are live. The event start will be announced on the Forum and the server name/description will be changed an hour/2 before it begins. The gamemode (Civilian or normal AAS) will be announced beforehand as well. Here are couple of rules I had in mind : Civilian missions : 1. Regular COOP server rules 2. BLUEFOR is required to restrain their use of force and double check their targets before firing. Intentionally killing a civilian will result in the player getting warned/kicked or banned. 3. All civilian roles must be announced to the BLUEFOR by the event host at the beginning of the event/during it, so new player can know which vehicles civilians operate. 4. BLUEFOR may stop civilian vehicles for questioning or to request repairs if the civi is driving a logistics truck. The questioning is mostly nessesary when there are more that 1 person in the civilian vehicle. 5. Special rule for =VG= Recon - NO poking civilians with knives/bayonets! AAS : 1. Regular COOP server rules 2. BLUEFOR has to complete the objectives to achieve victory. The mission will be failed if the round ends beofre objectives are completed. Let me know what you guys think. If you have any additional ideas, feel free to post them below. Also, if you vote NO, please also let me know the reason behind it so I can do some changes if possible. =VG= TED(F)
  2. Logi trucks work like other light support vehicles/jeeps - Whoever gets their hands on it first, claims it. The squad name "Logi/Logistics" makes it easier for other squads to find who has it and also makes it a lot easier for armor squads to communicate for repairs when needed, but doesn't make it claimable.
  3. Because using your legs is too mainstream Not a good way to go...
  4. Royal Tank Regiment is looking for fine chaps to man the almighty scimitars. We offer : 1. Free healthcare 2. Brand new scimitar after every 5 minutes, should you happen to lose one, 3. Tea and biscuit breaks every 15 minutes 4. Free One-Touch Tea Maker BTM800XL 5. Bigger paycheck than the rest of the army (should you happen to survive the mission) What we expect from candidates : 1. Ability to think outside the box 2. Basic knowledge of scimitar and it's functions 3. A !crazy mind. Bravery 4. Will to sacrifice Yourself in order to protect your CO Challie
  5. Additional filming cancelled until further notice
  6. Like I already sayd on the server, it's impossible to get PR do what you want it to do. There are limits to certain things. If I could get bots to go to certain places and do what I want them do to, that would be great. Also, as our PR tech wizard was away during set up, the maps couldn't be changed. I do admit, the Ramiel ticket fail was my fault as I forgot to check that one ticket wise and since all of the other ones worked as intended I didn't bother to look it over later. You got to use a lot of imagination when doing scenarios on BF2 Engine. Esspecially on that Ramiel one as it was impossible to remove other guys from the map. I'm not trying to create a 100% reallistic, full military campaign/scenario. The extra objectives are just meant to get a break from normal bot stomp and flag capture. I did have a few more objectives planned out, but I got too tired to send them all out. I do appreciate constructive criticism, but the constant moaning over all chat during the round does get frustrating. If you have something to say about the event or someone, please at least have some respect towards others who at least try to make the scenario look like it should, and post your complaint here, on the forums, not out there on the field. (I apologize if it sounds too grumpy again. written in 3 AM) EDIT - Also, could we move this to somewhere else so we wouldn't spoil Recon's video post?
  7. Everyone, who missed the signup/signed off and would still like to join, feel free to jump on to TS before campaign begins. If we get any MIAs before start, then you'll have a chance of getting in the action in their place. The selection will be first come first serve basis, which means, who pokes me first(at Zero hour), gets the spot. That also means, to all signed up dudes, - If you are late to the start, then you might lose your spot to someone else, so please try to be there on time !winker
  8. The roaster is full and signup is closed
  9. The countdown seems to be 2 hours behind :)
  10. @sp0nge1337 - Welcome aboard! I'll squeeze you in somewhere. Check back later, can't decide right now. Also, by having 30 people in the roaster, the sign up is officially closed! Thank you all who joined in. Those who missed it, nothing to worry about as there will be at least 2 more episodes coming - 31st Oct. (?) and 14th November. Also, as the we are at 30/28 players strong, I'll try to make the missions a bit more juicy than the last VIP one. Be ready for everything. Remember that the CO will be the b(e)acon !crazy between HQ and SQLs, so if you happen to see the yellow/golden icon pop up, down on the right hand corner, pay extreme attention! GOOD LUCK & I'LL SEE YOU ON THE FIELD!
  11. Sledgehammer LAN_WROTE ... So now Sparky knows exactly where to place his IED's !rofl If it makes you feel better, me and Sparky agreed to leave the hospital on Fallujah IED free. I'm a bit worried that if I let Sparky down there, then ,taking it from previous deployment rounds, you guys would be stuck there for the rest of the campaign !crazy !crazy Also, I doupt Sparky ever checks the forums, so your plans should be quite safe !crazy @be_jaki - added you to Logistics squad. If additional ppl show interest in joining, then I'll open up another support asset squad.
  12. @deadpool - added you to mech inf, random kit slot. Welcome aboard! Holy Moly! Didn't expect this to happen within such sort period of time, but looks like the roaster is full! Thank you all who signed up. If there are more ppl interested, post up. HQ is considering providing CO with additional support assets and if there are more brave souls wishing to join, then they shall have their chance! I'll see the rest of you on 17th. Make sure to give your sacrifises and prayers to the PR !angel so that the server would stay stable during the missions. Seals - Make sure you get together at least once to do a bit of training. !bb Same goes to pilots - A couple of minutes in the shooting range doesn't hurt !hunter Pack your gear and epipens. The operation has a green light!!
  13. @FPSGeraud -:Thanks for signing up as the CO. I'll send you additional info and tasks that need to be done before each of the missions are a go. @sillymoose - all additional info and objectives will be thrown to the CO during the mission. I like to keep you guys in a dark as long as I can !crazy
  14. @madsrm - Yes, we have few more slots available, Added you to mech inf as LAT @Recon - I kind of want to save the randomness and fun factor that the PR currently has. Turning into Arma PR kind of ruins it. That's why I have left few smaller bits out like big Commander plans and the massive Briefings. The Commander and SQLs would have to think on the spot and adapt to new situatations as they are thrown to them by HQ. Of course, I won't stop CO to plan it beforehand as most of the info is already given out. Also, the short planning time would give both sides few minutes to prepeare for the mission at the beginning. (specially for the badboys) And about !crazy snipers... !crazy We all know that as long as the event is done by TEDF, the sniper is a nonono no nooooo. !crazy
  15. That's why I brought the journalist kit up. It removes everything from the player - Map, HUD and the weapon. Only way to survive against bots is luck, friendlies and moving your little legs !crazy
  16. What I had in mind was : Missions 1 & 2 - You would stick with whatever squad you like & is willing to take you with them (except Mech inf for transport slot problem) and do what journalists do. Mission 3 - You would play the role of a VIP journalist, who happens to jump in a wrong BH at the wrong time and gets stranded in Ramiel alongside with navy seals and 2 pilots. Let me know what you think and if you accept the VIP role in final mission. Also any additional ideas are welcome.
  17. So if I assume correctly, you would like to play as a journalist guy who runs around with a camera and doesnt engage in combat? In that case I can easily spawn in a journalist kit for you. Also, that way I could join Sparky on the last mission and leave you as a VIP (?). It's up to you.
  18. Recon, is it ok if I put you in Seals team? Could use your expertise in impossible situations :-) Now in terms of respawn timer - I would like to keep the wounded time as it is because Melon's minions havent evolved that far to know how to give up and respawn. 2minutes wounded would mean that if a mech inf squad runs into pack of bots and defeats tem, then the rest of the team would have another 3 minutes to roam around freely without any resistance until the buggers finally return. @evergreen Thanks for reminding me, totally forgot. The players are requiered to stick with the role they signed up as. It is not allowed to request any other kits from supply creates. However, you are allowed to pick up kits from fallen brothers. UPDATED RULES SECTION
  19. Most of the things are mentioned in the briefing. My original thought was to act as a HQ that gives the commander additional orders and then it's up to him to direct the resources and manpower as he sees fit to accomplish the objective. If we don't get a volunteer for lead, then I'll foward HQ messages over as a server message during the round and it would be up to SQLs to decide who goes where. Ideally I would like to make the operation as realistic as possible in comms and command wise, meaning that the CO would be the one leading the show. Stucture would look like as following : 1. Order comes from HQ 2. CO recieves the order, plans out the course of action he sees fit, assigns nessesary assets and gives out the plan order to SQLs 3. SQLs carry out the plann by leading theyr squad to the objective using the resources that have been assigned by the CO. Once objective is complete/failed, report back to CO !offtopic Also, as one of the Navy Seal team members propably wont be able to attend, the spot for a breacher is open.
  20. 20.00 seems to be the most reasonable right now. Yes, it would be quite late for eastern europeans (11 pm for me), but we'll have to look at a bigger picture here. 20.00 would be : 1) around 12AM -1 PM for West Coast guys - Could squeese few hours down from the event start, but... 2) around 6-7 AM for our Aussie brothers which means that our most dedicated PR dudes would have at least some chance to join.
  21. I have a special request to the now full Navy Seals Team - Please take some time to get together and practise working with just 4 of you in a squad on a normal round, before the event. Find out your strenght and weaknesses. Also, wouldn't hurt if pilots could spend few minutes in the shooting range as well !gundown Only 9 original slots left! Thank you all who have already signed up. If the original roaster gets filled and there's still interest in joining, I'll add more additional slots to the half-empty squads. !cheers
  22. Heads up to all who have or are planning to sign up to Navy Seal team - I know that it's cool to be part of elite SF squad, but Think this through, before applying. You'll be going against 48 elite difficulty bots with only 2 pilots equipped with pistols as backup. Aslo, you all propably already noticed that Sparky will be playing as one of the Badboys which means - watch your step! If you fail in protecting the VIP, you'll also make it more difficult for the entire team to achieve their coals in the next Episode. (No pressure !crazy )
  23. mectus11 LAN_WROTE ... Would be nice if there is some realism factor in the squads as in your forum rank matters in that squad, a proper working chain of command would be lovely. I was thinking of having a proper comms system, meaning that all requests and chatter must go through the commander = Need supply drop - call the CO, Need reinforcements, call the CO and so on. Not sure how well it would go tho. Will look into it.
