Arma 3 Training in Combined Arms/ Weapons and features of ARMA III

29 August 2020

2000 HRS -GMT

Max 22 Players

 1 to 2 Hours Long

BRIEF 

After capturing a part of the Island without any casualties, NATO forces made a stop at a church to pray. That s it, nothing more!

Objective : 

After a good prayer, NATO forces decided to play a game of lets kill some RED for fun so they took another city from their enemy.

Just go kill something. And then capture a city. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Assets 

1 --> Comanche attack helicopter;

1--> UH-60 Black Hawk;

1 --> BTR-K Khamysh IFV;

2 --> Hunter MRAP;

A bunch of --> ATVs

 A bunch of other stuff like arty that can be requested via in game radio. Or if you are a squad lead you can poop rally points. The commander can also drop a rally, just like in PR.

Rules :

2. Infantry is not allowed to Rambo. This is a coop mission, not PR! What am i joking about... JUST GO KILL THEM! 

4. NO KIT RESTRICTION! You can be a cyborg or some tinfoil specialist!

I will need someone with experience to be a commander! Also has the role of a second teacher for the team! We will all start with a very short briefing. And if anyone has to join mid game: No problem! Its a training mission not a real event!

I ll try these couple of days to make a tutorial for everyone about how to use certain stuff like the scripts which will almost, all time, be included in my events.

I ll add more details till Friday.

Yeah sure I ll spawn whatever you guys want after we do the first task which will be capturing the town and a military base. After that i Will spawn in random shit for you to play and test! Might work on a second mission which will be a TDM look a like. Hopefully i have the time to do it by Saturday!

If I'm feeling well, I'll be there -- will fill out any role or squad that needs another man.  If they're all filled up and I'd be in a squad of 1, I'll play as the camera man instead and attach to and float between squads.

Do you guys want a PVP battle before the training where you can save some of your loadouts and test the pre made kits?

PvP info: - Capture The Sector

                 - Both teams must fight to control a sector. 

                 - Ticket respawn system. (reduce the enemy tickets to 0).

Nah... wait for the big half the map, cas playground that will soon come after :))!

That was good fun guys thanks for that event Blizzard.

One thing I was wondering about related to CAS was is there a way for the commander or SL on the ground to mark targets that CAS can view while we're flying?

For example I can hold shift and left click a location on the map and I will see that way-point on the HUD.

Can this be done by other SLs or the commander who may be closer and can view the target? Perhaps, its a lack of training on my part but I was unable to see any lazed targets.

The shift and left click 3D marker is only visible by yourself. But anyone can place a marker on the map or draw a arrow f.e. You could then place your own 3D marker on the map. Bear in mind that the 3D marker is on by default but may be disabled my the mission creator.

 

For situational awareness you can open your sensor page. If someone is lazing there will be a red lazer marker there.

Sure thing there is shift and T or shift left (just for yourself) click or use the markers (double click on the map to make a point while being on the global/side/group channel for everyone/just your team/just your squad to see... point is default and can be changed to another marker on the top right of the map).Shift+ T is mostly buggy and sometimes it works for all squads or just your squad, but i m not 100% sure how it works.

Btw if you didn't know it already, the laser point HAS to be visible to the aircraft/it's sensors else CAS won't be able to see it.

 

That's why you should try to paint the roof of the target or some part of it that's visible to the aircraft. If it's bombs you can try to laze the ground near the target if you can't get a good one directly on it.
