FatAlbert Posted September 6, 2017 at 06:10 AM Report Share Posted September 6, 2017 at 06:10 AM Tonight, I turned on my PC and noticed two red pixels on one of my monitors. Anyone have experience with fixing something like that? Anything I can do to fix that?

If your monitor can handle it, try colourstimulations at other frequenzrates... but i dont get the point of stimulations with audio... it is true that in europe there is a frequency of AC 50hz and in the usa of AC 60hz. but after the power supply of the monitor you have DC. then it should make more sense to trigger in frame rate than in the power-net-rate because the rate of DC is 0 (or 1). or am I totally wrong? Two different things. which two things do you mean?the framerate and the rate of the electricity net have very little to do with each other...thats clear to me but I understand the approach of the video. what has a pixel on your monitor (which works on dc after his power supply) to do with your ac 60hz powernet? Seriously, do your research. That video that was linked to is a joke. ThioJoe only started doing "real" tutorial videos as of October 2016. As this video was released April 2016 with the word "Free" in the title, it is clearly a joke. To quote Joe from his own channel: Quote YES HELLO GOOD DAY - I make technology videos, including tech news, reviews, and discussions. I aim to make fun and entertaining videos that anyone of any technical knowledge level can enjoy. I used to make joke tutorials but recently switched exclusively to real tech topics. ━━━━━━▼ Frequently Asked Questions ▼━━━━━━ Q: Are your videos fake? Ⓐ: All the "free stuff" tutorials are fake. As of October 2016, I now make real tech videos and discussions. Q: Where are your real videos? Ⓐ: I now make real tech videos on this channel. Q: You're just trying to ruin people's computers! Ⓐ: No. The joke tutorials don't do anything at all. So, in conclusion, the method in the video doesn't do anything at all and you are trying to understand "real science" through this joke gibberish. Stucked pixels are pixels whose inputlines are interrupted or clogged. with a bit of luck you can change that but mostly you can do nothing against it. one path would be the stimulus with colour, the other and much more dangerous path would be a circular massage around the pixel...but you can quickly destroy even more and I would advise against it if it is only a single pixel which is dead. Quote Stuck versus dead pixels Stuck pixels are often incorrectly referred to as "dead pixels", ... ...Stuck pixels, unlike dead pixels, have been reported by LCD screen owners to disappear, and there are several popular methods purported to fix them, such as gently rubbing the screen (in an attempt to reset the pixel), cycling the color value of the stuck pixel rapidly (in other words, flashing bright colors on the screen)... from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defective_pixel
FatAlbert Posted September 7, 2017 at 02:03 AM Author Report Share Posted September 7, 2017 at 02:03 AM I tried rubbing the pixel in circular motions, but all that happened was - I got excited. It's like VR porn, with tactile feedback I tried color stimulation with a special program - Note to self: don't stare it for half an hour - all you see for several hours after, are bright colors flashing randomly. Yes, ThiJoe is totally fake!. I came across one of his videos last year. "How to double your internet speed" wrapping a cable around your internet cable.....ahem....not that I tried it... I'll try swapping from DVI to HDMI to see if that helps at all. My Asus 1ms gaming monitors served me well. I feel lucky they lasted this long (bought in 2011). With 3, 23" monitors and a 46" connected to my GPU, I think I can ignore a couple of stuck pixels. Thanks for your suggestions.

TEDF Posted September 8, 2017 at 02:51 PM Report Share Posted September 8, 2017 at 02:51 PM You'll need to drop a patch on it to get it unstuck and then poke it with epipen for revive. Works most of the times.
