Vegas allows everything. It's a full video studio software, and it's about $100, perhaps it costs less via digital download. It can render video in over 10 formats, and can render a sound file into an MP3. Very useful, haven't found a thing that cannot be done (titleing, effects, cut/stretch/shrink, creating sub-tracks, multiple layers, snipping, live recording, mixing, etc.) And as far as the FRAPS goes, I think you're misunderstanding the Record External Input part - that means "capture the sounds coming through your microphone", not record sound or TS3... Think of it like this - FRAPS is gonna record video and audio put out by your computer. This means all audio transmissions from TS3 and the audio from your game - indistinguishable from each other. If you allow it to know your PTT button, it will record you as well, choose either your TS3 PTT or your in game VOIP button, one or the other. I use my TS3 PTT button. Because it is overbearing of other sounds, if it is recording your mic the ENTIRE time, coughs and all, it may drown out other sounds - that's why we use that setting.
  3. Way cool training mission! The very best! !2cool
  4. Swat 4 sounds cool. Where did you find this one, Steam, or just DVD-ROM?

I'd be happy to help you get your FRAPS set up proper, I had the same issues when I first started using it for recording. You'll wanna check the Record External Input and also check Only capture while pushing: (your PTT button, whatever it is). As far as the size goes, you don't post raw FRAPS - they are always massive in size. It needs to be rendered into an mp4 video. I use Sony Vegas, some use other programs. Either way, you slide your vids into that program, do what you want to them, then render into a video that isn't more than 1GB.
  6. Yes, but then you can re-paste your personal profile config files one by one, until you find the problem. You should have no problem with the controls and shouldn't feel like you have to lose those (or your actual Profile itself). I hope this helps - if not, I will be online to help troubleshoot this thing, perhaps between all us techies we'll find a solution.
  7. I'd advise that you get Operation Arrowhead, when able, Pvt. Pirate. Arma 2 is way old, and very few missions and mods operate using it alone. Now, if you had OA but not Arma 2, you can simply install Arma 2 Free To Play and configure it to be Combined Operations Lite.

Well said, Airborne - we were barely scraping by with the small squad we had. CAS and dedicated transport would help, and are nearly necessary. We'll do this more! I had a great time! !fans
  9. I'm just gonna say one thing: Thumper. Iffn and I were playing a sortof 2 squad, with 4 men each team, trying to hold a Temple cap point in AAS. As a squad of NVA were flooding down a hill, Iffn and I took cover behind the massive trunk of some tropical tree, and as he was tossing grenades out to them, he shouted back to me a range of ~110 meters and closing. I raised my M-79 Grenade Launcher to sight in a range of 100, and strafed out a bit from the giant root I was using as cover. Thooomp..........BOOM! Blood and guts and spit'n ass everywhere!! Thumper. It kills NVA dead. now, if it weren't for the other 40 or 50 of them emerging out of the jungle, we might have made it out with our lives!

    New Teaser

+3 Number One Lucky Best Game of the Year of the Dragon!
  11. Yes, we are very happy to move into the wonderful world of Arma mods, and helping to spread the word about how easy it is to join a modified server playing any version of them using SixUpdater. It truly is like the difference between Battlefield 2 and Project Reality - in that the mods offer so much depth to Arma. As said, the MH-J6 "Littlebird" helicopter doesn't allow players to shoot off the rails; but the massive Arma modding community has addressed this issue. Also, standard vanilla AI Bots are a bit dumb, but scripts and mods allow them to nearly "think for themselves", throwing smoke to cover their asses and using cover as if they value their own life. The weapons packs alone make for some interesting combinations, and in the end, thanks to mods, one can train on a weapons system or military role so closely modeled to real life that the only thing you'll be lacking in the end is muscle memory! As Savage said, we tend to play too many "persistant server" missions, and by exploring the "ops" style missions of Arma 2 through scheduled and promoted events, we can experience the raw teamwork and cooperation of a simulated military operation.
  12. Sneaky bastards.... That was just devastating! After seeing what happened to the lead tank, I imagine the Syrian tank column commander, like the Joker, saying something like this (minus the balloons part): "Why didn't somebody tell me that he had one of those.......things?!"

  15. For the People, By the People Bohemia Interactive has just announced a Play & Contribute Beta for Carrier Command: Gaea Mission. Starting April 6th, 2012, players can purchase one of two P&C betas - either the regular version, or the premium Supporter version which will ship with the beta-access, the digital soundtrack of the game, and a full copy of the game from Steam and the BI Studios Store. The price is $40 euros, and sales start tomorrow. Though the beta will not feature the full story line and campaign, players will be able to play and test the true essence of Carrier Command: Gaea Mission in it's free roaming environments, taking control of any unit under their command at any time on the vast planetoid Taurus. Here's what the CEO and founder of Bohemia Interactive, Marek Spanel, had to say about the Play & Contribute Beta: "Our aim is to open up the project so that people will be able to contribute not only in terms of funding, but also by helping us to further improve what we feel is already a great experience. For us, as an independent developer, involving outside enthusiasts like this is extremely valuable and we greatly appreciate the support of everyone willing to join in." "When we started this project in 2008," Marek continued, "we set out to re-imagine the original Carrier Command in a way that captures the spirit of the 8/16-bit classic, while making optimal use of all the technical and game design opportunities available today. It has been a long and exciting journey, and now, after more than 3 years of passionate work, the game is even better than we had envisioned. Still, we remain dedicated to making it as solid as possible. By allowing it some more time and involving gamers directly, we hope to release a game that stands up to its great legacy. We plan to announce more specific release plans for Carrier Command: Gaea Mission by the end of this month." This is a remake of the 1980's classic game, Carrier Command, and Bohemia Interactive is very excited about their version of it. Players reception of this sci-fi real-time strategy gameplay is important to them, and they are rumored to be using this beta to determine if the final release date of the game should be pushed back to September of 2012. I find this a far better business model than to release a product to the public that desperately needs it's first patch to function as advertised. Well, I'll be there playing Platoon Leader, providing Artillery Support, Logistics, and UAV RECON. !cheers
  17. I plan on spending much more time on the CLAfghan server playing as the Commander. I think a lot of that sever's problem is the logistics end of it. By providing proper RECON and artillery support, it will be much more playable. Also, the idea to host and promote gaming nights is a great idea, and we should start right away. I'll be on later tonite, and again tomorrow.
  18. Yes, it is a good thing! Now, if they can just give the navigator some FLIR, we'll have us a bitchin RECON bird!
  19. Yea, this is for reals. lol It's gonna happen if whether we believe it or not.
  20. Already signed up! That's one hell of a headset! 7.1 surround sound - amazing.
  21. I've been keeping a close eye on this one, and this past week I've done a few tests with that mod. It works, and it rocks! I knew it could be done, and they have pulled it off! !fans
  22. Calv LAN_WROTE ... Been looking at getting something like: http://www.playseat.com/shop/eu/uk/flight-simulator/flight-simulator-chair.html But it's a fair amount to drop at once. Holy crap, yea! I think you could buy you an acetylene torch, and arc welder, a padded seat, and enough 1" square tubing to build one of those for that much money!! Seriously, that is rediculously expensive compared to other "gaming seats" and I don't think it brings that much more to the table anyway. !crazy
  23. Goodbye my darling, hello Vietnam.... Veterans Gaming News: BF2 Project Reality Vietnam Kiss me goodbye and write me while I'm gone...
  24. PR:Vietnam is no joke! Exactly two years ago from yesterday, the Project Reality Team seemingly teased gamers with the announcement of an upcoming addition to their award winning modification of Battlefield 2, Project Reality. The fact that it came on April Fool's Day had many players wondering if Project Reality: Vietnam was in fact a Reality. Again, just yesterday, Project Reality Dev AncientMan posted a PR:Vietnam announcement on the RealityMod forums. Is this just another cruel joke, or has the joke been on us this whole time? The answer is yes - PR: Vietnam HAS been in development for 2 years, and IS going to release it's first public playable version this Friday, April 6th, 2012. This Friday, we will finally get a chance to experience Battlefield 2 Project Reality style gameplay in a recreation of the battlefields of the Vietnam War. Fighting as the US Army, United States Marine Corps, and North Vietnam Army, players will struggle for territory and control points in 2 new maps made specifically for PR:Vietnam, as well as 2 PR:BF2 maps modified for Vietnam gameplay. Plenty of Vietnam-era weapons, equipment, and vehicles will be at our disposal in what is sure to be the coolest Vietnam mod and game mode to ever grace the EA and DICE blockbuster that is Battlefield 2. The mod will be available for download on April 6th, and in the future will be integrated into the main Battlefield 2 Project Reality build in the version 1.0 coming soon. Check out this awesome new game mod this Friday, and be sure to check back here as we will most certainly have many screenshots and some videos of Project Reality: Vietnam! by Aaron Semler, Senior Editor VETERANS-GAMING
