  1. I've noticed that the maps are generally very cool in design, they are very hard. It's ok when we play them at an event or when we have 20 experienced players on the server but in some time when the post-update player number bumb stops, no one will play them in their current shape as they will be impossible to finish in a reasonable time. Haven't played all of the new maps yet but those are the ones I think are too challenging: - Korbach (both layers, the american one overall [the huge cap zones don't help], the german one at the end) - Kunar (also broken I guess) - Gaza alt - new Ras el Masri (very hard at the end if I recall correctly but overall ok) - Burning Sands lrg (gets very difficult in the middle of the city, also the havoc's rangefinder is broken) all of those are very hard because the bots spawn very quickly and in large numbers so the infantry even with heavy asset support has problems to cap flags or even get to them. Also I've noticed that on Korbach lrg bots rarely used any vehicles even though they have a bunch of them. After all all of those are good maps in principle, just need some tweaking imo.   3. CUP has the most, we are not using CUP Terrains so it's not that bad, but still comes to around 23 GB. The rest of the mods are very light (it's probably around 0.5 GB) and some aren't even required. Also if it's the internet that is the problem, then you have a lot of time to download it.

Arma 3 Event VDV Campaign DAY 3 - Snake's Head SATURDAY April 15th 2023 - 1900hrs GMT (PRT) Server name: VETERANS-GAMING | VDV Campaign Day 3 | TS3.VETERANS-GAMING.COM IP: 5.9.23.136:2402 Password: probably something stupid BRIEFING: The Russian Federation has decided to attack an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.The Island is a neutral state with historical connections both to the US and NATO and USSR. After the Gulf War, the government decided to stop buying Russian equipment and started investing heavily in US gear. This war is TOTALLY needed for security of Russia's national interest. The war planners decided to strike at four separate fronts. Places markers on the map are places of a naval invasion performed by naval infantry and supported by the navy and the army. Those forces will be the main force. In the meantime highly skilled airborne units will capture all airports on the island and hold them until the main force arrives. CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVES: As part of the VDV you are tasked with infiltrating, capturing and holding an airport. However there will be no main force coming to help you. After establishing your positions near the airfield you will be resupplied and will take key targets to engage the units under NE command and do not allow them to reinforce other fronts. Throughout the campaign you will be able to find and use enemy equipment to your advantage. (e.g. if you capture a helicopter while attacking the airfield, there will be pilot slots added for the next day of the campaign.) OBJECTIVES DAY 3: After taking out enemy artillery support, minefields and AA defenses without losing the captured helicopter (because it didn't take off), their forces in the East of the island are weak, demoralized and lacking supplies. Though it is not the end yet. Enemy forces are spread out so fighting them head on is a very bad idea. We will instead attack key objectives deeper in the enemy lines. By taking control and mining the main road we can destroy any resupply attempts. The small village next to the first objective can be captured and garrisoned to further block the enemy. The main objective is simple. We will attack a holiday resort on the coast. It is suspected to be the place where the enemy HQ for NE front is stationed. Capturing the enemy commander and valuable intel will surely help us later on. We hope that encircling the spread out enemy forces will make them flee or consolidate in one area so any of our future plans will be easier to complete. In case of asset losses, the crew can join infantry in completing objectives. On day 3 you will get an arsenal and you'll be able to play dress-up within russian gear. If you want to dress up before the mission, either DM me and I can send you the export from ACE Arsenal or join before mission start and do it then. OBJECTIVES DAY 2: After a successful raid on the airbase and establishing a forward operating base we have been resupplied by cargo planes just as planned. I mean almost. It was attempted, we got some kit, reinforcements, a few light and RRR vehicles. The rest of the supplies cannot be safely dropped due to a SAM network still operational in the area. Your priority objective then is to disable the SAM site and a radar installation, that our air-force managed to miss. Thanks to our EW capabilities the long range SAMs are temporally offline but it won't stay this way for long. Thankfully our intelligence was able to locate the objectives. As you might have noticed our base is very easy to find and even easier to level with arty. One of our reconnaissance drones located a position of heavy artillery getting ready to fire. If we want to have an airfield to come back to, we need to destroy those artillery pieces.   17. I'm just worried that they will need a lot of time. They have been working on this for years now and didn't even add those basic features before launching the game.
  18. I'm glad to see they are not goving up after that failure of a launch. Maybe soon it might be an actually viable option for mil-sim gamers.

Parachute in the cover of darkness and land NE of the airbase. It has been reinforced with a FOB and some checkpoints in anticipation of an invasion. I'm interested how you feel about a campaign. I have 5 missions planned out for you if you are interested. If not, no hard feelings will make this a single mission and move on. You will start with some pretty standard russian kit on day 1. After that you will get resupplied before day 2 which means you will get an arsenal and you'll be able to play dress-up within russian gear. All the assets that you find can be used to your advantage, assets requiring specialized crew (IFVs, tanks, aircraft) will be provided to you with proper slots in sign-up for the next day. There will be weapon cashes for you to loot and add gear to your arsenal for the next day. More in the brief before the mission.
