well i honestly think that it's better than having a password. If TS has a password, then NO random people can get into it. This means that griefers cant get in, but it also means that NO ONE can get in that doesnt go through the process of posting on the site to get the password, sending PMs, etc, which take time if no one is on, and discourages people from trying to join TS/play with us in general. Currently anyone can get in the TS, but you have to ask to be moved if you aren't known. At least it lets people get into the TS, and since we can go in the channel and actually talk to them, it lets us get to know them better initially and then move them based on that. I'm not sure though, it looks like its password/full protection with a lot less chance of new players joining, or the current situation which is slightly less protection, a lot more hassle, but allows a lot more new members to join the TS without getting turned away with a password.

well you fixed it for me by changing me from a friend to a member. it must have to do with permissions allowed for certain levels, such as friend and lower not being able to see people in other channels.

"These guns are so innacurate! This isn't realistic at all! I could fire an m16 full auto and hit every shot!" etc, etc

if you want to cover your squad in an inf squad, you either get a marksman kit or an auto rifleman...i do love the people who think that a regular sniper can just walk down the street with the rest of the squad and then suddenly set up and start taking shots.. that's what the marksman/DMR is for. or a dedicated sniper squad that sits across the map and spots 90% of the time. But that's too boring for people i guess.

yeah it's really based on the fact that the server crashes before it can get too far down the list, so you end up playing muttrah,ramiel, karbala, etc over and over. i think we tried to mix in the map pack maps before and it ended up in the server losing 15 people every rotation cause they dont have the pack. im not sure what's the best way to do this.

im currently backing all mine up cause i want to do a clean OS install...ive got like 80gb of installed games and like double that total...it sucks man. i mean you can try to look around on steam support forums to see if you can import your steamapps folder, but idk man =/

oh god, never never never uninstall steam without making backups... basically if you uninstall steam you also uninstall every game you have installed through it. You can back them up manually, but other than that they cant be recovered unless you re download them. i'm not sure why you cant import games into steam from your HD without a backup, im guessing its a kind of DRM so you dont just copy the folder of someone else and import legit to steam. most games now should keep your saved data and settings in the steam cloud, however. sucks man. i had to redownload all my shit once when i had to reinstall my OS to fix some problems..not fun.

I'd rather have people playing assault to get kills and also be able to heal/revive me, than pick a class that's pure offense and have no support skills. I think that the medpack is actually the best trade, because if you play on a server with no regen health, medpacks are extremely valuable, as they prevent a death in the first place rather than waiting to die and get revived. Medpacks also encourage lone wolfing, which is part of the reason medic was preferred in BF2.if you only have a defib, you have to be really careful, as you cant bring yourself back up and keep going. Just my opinion though, I almost always play engy for the fact that it has strong guns at close-med range, and is extremely useful for destroying and maintaining vehicles. Now that the javelin has had a bit of a buff, and the laser designator is needed to unlock the new sniper rifles, engy is more multi-function with the javelin for air and ground targets, and a strong carbine for clearing buildings or tight streets.

installing mods is about as easy as putting them in a folder and adding a few letters to your launch parameters of the shortcut. its not all that bad. and yeah sounds good man, good luck!

Well honestly i only registered here at first to download the PR mappack. But then I'm at the point where I almost dont play ANYTHING online without a true bro there at my side. I mean i'm long past the point of jumping on a game with 'pubs' and playing more than a few minutes without getting angry and leaving. I've got a few guys i've met over playing a few games that i play EVERYTHING with. That being said, just like in real life, you can't put a value on a true bro, and when it comes to gaming (or id guess in the military as well), you need to know that there's someone always watching out for you and helping you out. Thats why i stuck around here, it turns out that everyone is great to play with and all cool people to hang around with as well. Especially with the terrible community that most games seem to exhibit nowadays (hell even back to the first competitive games), having a group like this is quite rare, and i wouldn't have it any other way. Another plus is that the majority of members and community here are mature and dedicated to being a good player, while at the same time know when to joke around and have fun. that's about it..lol

yeah what he said, its used heavily in online PR (Deployment) and its really awesome. we dont really use on coop though, its not as necessary since most people are in ts anyways we dont use on coop server because 1) i dont think you can make an empty mumble channel for PR, theres channels for the main online servers though and 2) most people dont use it on coop and most people are all in TS anyways

im pretty sure mumble overlay kicks in PR, so id assume TS overlay would as well, haven't tried though. you'll start to learn people after playing with them a while though, dont worry about it

Just did this training mission where you hunt enemy ships...its really fun! mavericks against first pair of ships. Got some good hits, they're huge targets and easy to lock: A better view of the ships: I hit these as well...but it looks like the missiles hit water, not sure what happened there: And this isnt the best shot, but me flying over a big ship after i dropped a GBU on it...you can kinda see the smoke in the targeting pod...also the first time my laser actually worked right, lolol

day 2 of practicing with bombs..set them on 400 ft delay between and bombed the hell out of this runway! however it was supposed to be ccip, but my angle was off and i ended up releasing them on the delay ccrp mode that comes up...im still working on that angle, lol. Third pic is four tanks being introduced to my mavericks...theres one trying to escape at the bottom right of the screen, lol! i had to get really close to screencap that one, was fun though.

lots of pictures that i took while playing with CC, robot, and poffadder on the minecraft server...we made this massive TNT tower, spawned all kinds of things on it, and destroyed it. it was hilarious...we had all these snowmen and chickens all over it. the aftermath reveals a massive hole all the way through the map, as well as this solitary enchantment table that withstands TNT...lol

i was quickly configuring something on my joystick before the flight and i somehow unbound my push to talk button on it...and when ram asked i was diving straight down and couldnt take my hands off the joystick...lol it was fun though
