I'm glad to see they are not goving up after that failure of a launch. Maybe soon it might be an actually viable option for mil-sim gamers.

It is making progress, slowly! I am confident given enough time it will become not only viable and will replace what we are playing now. Squad is in decline, ARMA is simply way to bloody complicated. I have high hopes yet few expectations.

I'm just worried that they will need a lot of time. They have been working on this for years now and didn't even add those basic features before launching the game.

You need to play operation flashpoint

Arma Cold War is Operation Flashpoint after rights drama ended decade ago between latter creators and publisher. And from personal experience, ARMA Cold War still has a blast of campaign and is fairly engaging entry into Arma series. Wouldn't advice either Gold Edition or Arma 2 as those lack charm of original and options of newest. Either go with OG Cold War or straight for Arma 3.
