VG Servers are Back Up! *UPDATED AGAIN* TS3 Server is back; PR and Mumble are online, Arma 3 Servers are online but still need VG specific missions and configurations, should be done before end of week...   04/15/2017

      UPDATE Sunday April 23rd:
Most everything is back online now.  The PR Server is running, and Mumble is working.  We have not yet made PR Updates available in TCAdmin, but several more people have access to update the PR Server (including me) and there should be little to no server downtime from future PR Updates.

I've installed a second PR Server and still need to expand the VG PR License for it - it can be used for whatever, but I called it "PR EVENT SERVER" to start.  I figured we might also want a development server for things like FastJack's PR COOP Insurgency Mission testing, and we will take care of that this coming week as well, if able.

The Arma 3 Servers have been reinstalled, and they are running basic versions of their former missions.  They still need to be configured, but they will remain online until this happens during the week (when PITN gets time).  I've set up A3 Servers with a Steam Update button in TCAdmin, any Arma Admin can now update to the latest Arma version much faster and easier, and without needing to wait for a Head Admin.    -Sem

      Sunday April 16th 2017:
I've just received an email from the Server Host in Germany.  They host the server that runs our TS3 and various game servers here including Project Reality, and Arma 2 & 3.  Apparently, there has been a fault with our server host, possibly a hardware failure or such, but all servers in one part of their data center were affected including ours. We do not have further details at this time, but unfortunately this means VG Servers will be down until we can regain access to our server.  We were not given a time frame estimate or specific details of what damage was incurred, and we do not know if we have lost any data that was on the server.  We've been with this host for many, many years, and we've had nothing but great connections and fast servers.  Clearly this is a rare occurrence and we need to be patient as we weather this storm. I feel particularly bad for our loyal Project Reality players who were very patient waiting for our server to get it's most recent update, and I wish I could do something immediately to fix this.  It's a sad truth that it is out of our hands for the time being as we await contact from our host, and get a detailed damage report and estimate of how long until we are online again.  Of course, I've contacted the other head administrators at VG and apprised them of the situation.  We will update you all as we get information. Thank you all for your patience and understanding!

Falcon BMS 4.33 u3 for Xmas

37 posts in this topic

Hi, sorry for breaking the conversation, but I've been looking for a flight sim for a while and all I could find was DCS World, which seems to crash whenever it feels like it wants to. What is Falcon BMS and how can I download it? I've seen some footage and it looks cool.

If Im not wrong its a mod for the 1998  game falcon 4.0. You can read about it here:

Well I tried it, I tried clicking some buttons, I crashed. I tried spawning at the Ramp, couldn't close the canopy, became deaf, looked for a tutorial, tried doing what it did, nothing happened, uninstalled. I'm more a Google Earth simulator guy.

Sweep: Downed two Mig-19,  two Mig-23 + one 23 damaged: but got my AI wingman shot down. I punched out after losing a duel with two SA-2

The DPRK has the upperhand atm. Lots of enemy air streaming south across the DMZ. Lots of ADA/AAA.

Some escorted SEAD would be helpful now.

Is this even playable anymore?  I saw Cobalt on just now while checking the server, clock was frozen... shortly after committing (I assume) Cobalt left... then the clock started up again.

If it's still a fight, I'm more than happy to leave it be - if you all think it should be called a "loss", I'm happy to restart it.  Just let me know.

Day 6: 10 AM

Observation/opinion:

DPRK is driving south onto and consolidating across the DMZ. I've been flying SEAD\Sweep last 3 days in the west and it seems to make them back off and stay north of the western DMZ.

Lots of A/A to fight with.

None of the AI wingman and support flights I create show up so my missions have all been a flight of 1.

Looks like I'm flying between 2100 to 2300 GMT daily now during the week.

Check Six

DPRK has the numerical advantage to make up for their generally outdated vehicles. Russia and China also entered the war, further encouraging a push. So, REDFOR is expected to be aggressive like that.

The reason these units are diverting east is simple: somebody took out the western bridges, just north of Seoul. Your SEAD efforts didn't have a direct impact, but they might have opened the corridor for the responsible Strike packages. ;)

Are you talking about support in the form of a Tanker or actual combat flights (escort etc.)? Can't say for certain what's going on but there were issues with 'dropped' flights/packages before.
The AI wingman is a slightly different topic. Ramp start defaults to 20 minutes before takeoff, taxi to 4 minutes. If you commit 'by the book' these 20 minutes are more than you actually need and you might be inclined to taxi after just 5 minutes. Your AI buddy however doesn't care and will wait until taxi time. If you move beyond 30 miles from the airport, while your wingman is still on the ground, the plane gets deleted and you're on your own.
Set the TO time to +10 instead when going for a ramp start (shortening the wait time) or try ordering 'rejoin' once you taxi (not sure it still works).
