    Guild Wars 2

Mystery of the Lost Shores event this weekend! https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/november-2012/ Play for free between November 15 and 18, 2012. I can invite three people. If you are interested send me a PM. First come, first served for =VG= members/supporters. I am sure Ingo, Acer, and Renainn will be able to give away invites aswell. EDIT: In your PM I need your email so I can send the invite from GW2.
  2. Leadership. Leadership is nothing without trained soldiers in the unit. Commanders form the battle plan. Leaders carry out their portion of that plan. That plan changes upon contact with the enemy. Leaders explain the mission to their soldiers. Soldiers carry out the mission until it's completion or relief. I understand where Castor is coming from and a well organized fire team is four times better than one that is not. However, ARMA is a simulation and it cannot reflect every aspect of combat. Therefor you must work within it's limitations. When you understand these limitations you can then form missions designed around it. Understanding these limitations is why small unit tactics are the only sustainable mission for the Virtual Reality Engine. Honestly, if you want to blow shit up or you can't accept the boring jobs some squads must perform then just play Domi. But if you want to play as a team then Insurgency w/OPFOR is for the new to moderate player and ARMA:Project Reality is for the most experienced units. Over the last few days we have had some good coordination on the Insurgency server during peak Euro times. When we get a good squad we rock. When we get several good squads we dominate. I yearn for the same teamwork that Castor is mentioning. To accomplish this everyone needs to be on the same page and to do this you need to conduct training and battlefield drills. If playing as a cohesive unit sounds good to you then I recommend that you start playing with experienced leaders as battle buddies, then fireteams, then squads and eventually as a platoon. If you want to succeed as a virtual soldier then you must learn the vocabulary and tactics needed to be an effective unit. Semler pointed out an excellent guide by Dslyecxi. i recommend that you read it.
  3. The host needs to be contacted so they understand that packets are dropping on their network. Strange thing is when I did a trace I was dropping in the same spot. However, you don't play DOTA2 on the DE box, right? So the problem still has to be on your side somewhere. Spyware or a virus could be on your computer and when it runs you see the packet loss and performance drop, etc. SpyBot Search and Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/ Malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/ Micrsodoft Security Essentials http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/security-essentials-download These are free programs that are very good at removing nasties. You should run them in safe mode if you feel comfortable doing so.

    Guild Wars 2

i like it. We have Ingo, Rennain and Acer have the game aswell. Seems only me and Ingo are semi-active atm. Right now GW2 is having the Halloween events and the evil Mad King. Here are some Halloween screenshots. Mad King Costume, Candy Corn groupie, Witch Costume, Cat Familiar and the Mad King Moon.
  5. I played for a bit. Maps are small. Even on a low pop server you see people often. Loot spawn is low and crap stuff. I didn't find a melee weapon for an hour and 4 deaths. I have never found a gun. Character movement is clumsy and graphics are uninspring. Hitbox's in melee combat wierd. I am not sure if it is me, latency or bad hitbox's. It has potential but it has a ways to go to be even close to DayZ (the mod).
  6. Okay, I have three guest keys that are good for 48 hours starting on October 31st. !coffee
  7. So are you survivor, pioneer, or lengendary? It is $25 for Survivor and $40 for Pioneer. Legend is SOLD OUT. I see the game suffers from the same crap as DayZ. -Loot hoarding/abuse. -Ghosting -Server Hopping But I am tempted to give it a try. Do we have any other interested players?
  8. Post your traceroute to the server. Check it here. http://network-tools.com/ Check it for the ts3 ip of 5.9.23.136
  9. Both of these players have been banned for running 3rd party scripts on the Insurgency server. Piet 17c64fc1cbf7c1a08a3bb16f60f07190 Billi da Boy 888db3060f58a5812040b5e594eb564c

    DayZ Lingor

When every day is filling your shopping cart just to hide it under a bridge somewhere I soon realize that I may need a shower. !crazy
  11. So do we have any theories as to what it is for? And can we get the transparent PNG's of the logos and banner so we can play in GIMP?
  12. When a large group of individuals from a clan join a publicly hosted private server and then attempt to to control that server through a play style that is not what the host intends will not be tolerated here. Members of a clan that harass other players in a server not their own and then, after it is brought to their attention, they choose not to address that behavior immediately taints the entire clan. The two perpetrators have a permanent ban unless they publicly apologize for their behavior. Anyone wearing the ~3rd Recon~ tag will be dealt with individually. However, if it appears that this behavior is condoned by ~3rd Recon~ then anyone who represents that clan will receive a ban.
  13. This incident may result in a clan ban so I need more info. Let's clariify what happened so we can go from there. What happened? What did you do to address the problem? How did they respond? I noticed that you addressed Donutz, but was he in a leadership position or only a peer? At the bottom of this post there is a list of the Flagged 3rd Recon on the server. Was anyone else involved? 53da0b1d12ebf2168a67d3cd400bcf9d ~3rd-Recon~ Pookie<br />5111cc96b065f592c83f1f3e2652fdae ~3rd-Recon~ Cujo<br /><br /><br />ecbbd5f10637337b79a892b9636e1e99 ~3rd Recon~ D0nutz<br />6f602acef55c2f3f9a58ee893ae61ea0 ~3rd-Recon~ Lukeoverhere<br />e05563731752243ac2af753a82d624b7 ~3rd Recon~ Elkabong<br />45ba167bd862600c0b0921e7f0d3dc3f ~3rd Recon~ pooter<br />4f29bc90f346801f3b42a1d63222c6db ~3rd-Recon~ Dr.D<br />7412d6f5a98408fa862803b4911131eb ~3rd Recon~ Loading... edit... spelling

    Guild Wars 2

8.25.2012 OKay! Guild Wars 2 goes live today for pre-orders. I will be trying to start a character on the Americas server "Sea of Sorrows". I hope to see you all there! !neo Update......
  16. Script kiddie. Sounds like he set himself invisible and teleported to you. At least he didn't kill you. You should blacklist that server. The admin prob doesn't know how to secure that server properly and some DayZ server hosts refuse to let the leasee to run "signatures=2" so that leaves the door wide open to script kiddies.
  17. Request granted. As for 0.80 they will probably be on the server somewhere but not in the rotation. When I get 1.50 ACR sorted out then I'll make the USA, BAF, and maybe PMC versions in 1.50 as well. The 1.50 versions will then become the normal missions in the rotation.
  18. I'm up north. North of the big lake. Hit me up. I have food and water. i am running 1.7.2.5
  19. I have a long winded post but in short, Most OPFOR only grief. Few play the role as intented. GMG's can be countered with a civillian death counter / puunishment system. How to implement this correctly is another story. Scoped opfor, there is an SVD at the cache. Armor and toys, no. You are an insurgent. Steal your shit. This includes NVG and Scopes. Access to vehicles. Yes. I am thninking of a call system similair to the one BLUFOR has. OPFOR becomes automatically enabled when the server pop reaches 25 or 30 + players. When we first launched the Insurgency server we had OPFOR on because we had to. When enabled the OPFOR team would grief the newb players until they rage quit from the server. This is counter productive when you are trying to populate a server. So to combat this problem OPFOR was disabeld. Now with the server reaching capacity PFO can now be turned on and the players being griefed are OPFOR. So it now requires skill and cunning to attack blufor. Also, the last admin on during an OPFOR event needs to set the OPFOR to off before leaving. I came home to an empty server last night to find that OPFOR was still enabled and an OPFOR soldier with nearly 100 kills. Until the server has a population dynamic OPFOR script this needs to be adheared to.
