Well a HD6990 is too loud, have been playing with the idea of watercooling the CPU & GPU but for now I will have to put those plans on hold so HD6990 is a no go. 590 is the only high end option I have on my plate but still 900usd is too steep for my economy right now.

So I finally ripped the last parts off the old rig and got my new one up and running, my GPU is now my weakest link. Part of me wants to flesh out for a 590GTX but that's like 900usd over here and I'm studying at the University so I'll have limited time to play on this rig. Any decent suggestions for a card or cards that will hold me 3-4 years, might even buy one now and just add the same on later on as I need more power.

Havn't had any issues with playing with Versus in the past so I'm guessing the new guy is being a prick, and since he's new I don't have his beguid in my archive.

Conflicting dll's, I went through http://dev-heaven.net/projects/171/wiki/Troubleshooting_FAQ_Bug_Reporting as my last resort which should probably have been my first thing to check. As for the dsound.dll bug I have no idea what caused it, my guess was that I had a bad version of it as it would crash my game every time.

You are trying to find arma games through the ingame multiplayer browser? It sometimes changes to lan not internet hence not showing you any servers, but I'm guessing that's too obvious.

Suppose I will have to learn ACRE now

After mucking about with the damn thing on and off for a few days I finally got past the launch and into arma but ts (with plugin) still won't talk with acre. Any ideas?

Calv LAN_WROTE ... Are you getting any specific error messages? Couple things that may sort it. Go into your steam/oa folder and make sure the game is set to run in admin mode. If you have combined ops, make sure you have launched Arma2 and OA from steam without any mods to ensure correct register entries are present. Did you install ACRE via sixupdater? Linked error message. OA does run as admin. Thinking about just reinstalling arma and oa to see if it will fix it. And yes I first installed ACRE via sixupdater then I deleted the updated version and used the ACRE version supplied with ts.

Well I see your point even though I prefer a human pilot, and I did as you stated above. Called in, gave it a target and dug down, I was not aware I had to fire some kind of fire command for it to engage.

The only issue I have with those parameters is the A-10 mode being AI. It kinda works as intended as long as the server is lag free but that is very seldom. An example being our attack on mulladost when we encountered a AGS-30 that pinned us down, I called in cas and the A-10 simply flew around the area while we where supressed. After some minutes we managed to put a sniper in place who took out the AGS-30, as we are tending to our wounded the A-10 comes in and just levels the area of town where the AGS-30 was along with one of our squad members. In my opinion a face smashing mouth breather who slams his head into the keyboard and the A-10 is a equally wasted asset as a lagged out AI controlled A-10 that can't hit a target when you need it to. So while it's a good idea it falls short simply because it's AI controlled as well as it can't take into consideration the situation on the ground.

Found out yesterday that if the team leader asks the squad (including pilot) to board the littlebird the squad member that is piloting will get ejected and chopper will rtb. Dunno if it's something you can do anything about.

Quick tip that makes it quicker to ban these freaks is for you to grab their battle id, you can do that by typing #beclient players in any chat, that will print out all active id's that are active on the server. Hit - and use page up to scroll to the player(s) in question and take a screenshot if possible.
