  1. I'm more worried if the JSRS will dowload in time...
  2. sure! just PM me, Calv, Sav, Sem... etc. when you have time :)
  3. WOW! the FTs are filled now! btw. Calv I edited your post in my enthusiasm by adding ColdNfreeziN :) I bet we are going to need some reserves, for more may come and/or some might not come.
  4. well I lost connection when we started so jokes on me :) it happends!
  5. yeap, the teams will probably change a bit after we get on but at least i know what gear we have available!
  6. FTL - M16A4 M203 ACOG FT1 - M16A4 ACOG/RedDot (most junior player on FT) FT2 - M16A4 ACOG + M136 (most veteran player on FT) FT3 - M249 ACOG (the player who wishes it most) possible?
  7. looks good! can you add the gear or role of the FT members?
  8. hmm that's a problem, got in my plans to play with my pal's and bro's when I get it, but you guys will be mainly on US :/
  9. OK guys, since no one is offering to lead the Pacific team only one is mine, Thursday 16:00 UTC. not sure how many can join but lets hope we will get atleast a FT up :P Can't host later due to need of sleep (going to Estonia on Friday)
  10. Hey Pirate you should really read all the comments before doing that yourself :) + I added you guys notify that the dudes on this list should be worth checking if you're up for training and he's online too :) Iffn LAN_WROTE ... ...- It might be useful split some of the smaller training sessions to fit into the European and American/Australian time schedules... Castor =VG= LAN_WROTE ... ...to make this easier we should divide into at least 2 groups, Team Pacific and Team Atlantic. these teams will have different schedules but preferably same content, who's up to lead the team Pacific?... Castor =VG= LAN_WROTE ... ...check this post later for a training event!...
  11. also the big event is at Saturday so you will just miss some basic training :)
  12. Hmm, good idea Iffn! Everyone is an rifleman before anything else :) so we are going to go with this first, but not a bad idea! need to keep that in mind! also the separated schedules is a perfect idea, we cant hold everything on the same day anyway :P Next training session would be on Thursday! we are going to familiarize ourselves with the gear and train mostly FT functions, also ACRE and ACE will be included. to make this easier we should divide into at least 2 groups, Team Pacific and Team Atlantic. these teams will have different schedules but preferably same content, who's up to lead the team Pacific? EDIT: yeah copy Iffn! it's great that you guys are getting Ideas as well :)
  13. both would be great, after all we need to learn them sooner than later :) enhances the gameplay a lot!
  14. OK, so you guys can get to know and explore the map, check this post later for a training event! nothing fancy just training with the gear, comms, weapon use, FT-stuff, vehicles, tactics ACE and ACRE... anything you might need in ARMA 2 :) Players ATM: 1. =VG= Castor UTC +3 2. =VG= SavageCDN (Engineer) UTC -5 3. Wooz2770 (Support) UTC +1 4. =VG= Terremer (Recon) UTC -5 5. AirborneAlways (Sniper/Spotter) UTC -6 6. =VG= Renainn (Sniper/M1A1) UTC -7 7. Murderface (FTL/Pilot/Inf) UTC +13 8. Pvt. Pirate UTC +2 IF YOUR NAME WASN'T MENTIONED PLEASE NOTIFY ME, ALSO YOUR TIMEZONE AND A SUGGESTION ON THE EVENT DATE WOULD BE APPRECIATED! and special thanks for the map to Calv, we love you mate! :D 1337083359_1247_ft25091_vg_training_ace.zargabad.rar 2nd server now running ACE + ACRE with signature checks off and no battleye Password is still acre Calv's ACE trainer is available in mission list. -Thanks Savage! The map contains a shooting range, kill house, kill house located in an actual compound, contact drill area, and various target areas around zargabad with simple targets that teams can practice assaults on. Equipment consists of M4 and Mk16 rifles that can have the various attachments add/removed by using the ACE Self-interact key while at the weapon crate. When changing attachments it is technically removing and adding your weapon, so it will switch to you next available weapon, usually pistol or grenade. So check your weapon selection before firing. All main AT weapons are available and various respawning targets are on the range to practice on. Both the M249 and M240 are available, attachments can be added same as with rifles. M40A3 sniper rifle is available. There are additional weapon crates near the supply trucks one has ropes for fastrope and sling loading, the other has basic ordnance like claymores, bouncing bettys and M4 SLAMs for explosive practice. 4 humvees are included for vehicle formation and mounting/dismounting practice. Blackhawk and Littlebirds are also available for use. Vehicles are set to respawn so will vanish if left vacant.
  15. umm, pirate remember to read all the comments next time :). I've highlighted the point of this training a couple of times, to re-train the skills we already have learned and to do just the things you are saying, to make sure everyone keeps up and that if you wish additional training you can get it. the ultimate point of this and calvs events are (in my opinion) to get us up there on top ranks in ARMA 2 as a unit or with events. ALSO TO HAVE LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN WHILE BEING AT IT! :D /locked
  16. wow, sounds like a great dude. I'm sorry for your loss, but he will always live in your memories for clearly he made an impact peoples lifes in a positive way.. hang in there!
  17. Yeah the idea is like small scale training and re-training from shooting to making sure people now what like ''staggered column'' means. at the same time we would learn to use for example grenade launchers (I forgot to use it in missions as an example), and making sure everyone who wants can get more experience. The thing is even if the weekend events are training they still are almost full blown missions and I for example would like to fare on them way better, after all we have always lost at least 50% of our manpower on every missions, not to count the ones we have failed, I am not blaming here for it was as much my fault those missions failed as it was others. Calv LAN_WROTE ... That said, if you want to have a persistent fireteam that is fine, grab three other people and get their agreement then let me know. Then it's down to you to arrange some sessions where you can train as a team, whether it's just playing on insurgency together or going through missions is your choice. I'm happy to put together some training missions that you can run through as a team if provided with a specific area you want to practice. (Urban clearing, patrolling in woodland/open terrain, night ops, etc) If you could make an ACE/ACRE compatible map kinda like ARMAX at start (all weapons, lots of vehicles, firing range, maybe somekind of killhouse event) we'd be setup. When we got stuff cleared we can go Insurgency for a while (lets say next thursday) and after that we could request more maps from you. also we can test new missions like the one charry is doing. where we can train using these mods while getting familiar with FT roles, movement, organization and other important stuff, everyone would be free to join (it wont need a dedicated server, lets keep it simple) This also makes your job easier for we will teach new players to use ACRE and other stuff you taught us. yeah fixed FTs are cool and make stuff easier tho it's not needed and might be better for long term ARMA 2 experience that you switch around, for you wont be playing with your mates all the time. gonna make another thread for this and depending on persons joining we can decide who runs the server. (if there is too many players from down under we will have to get someone from Americas to run the missions) that being said I'll gather a list for willing players, and after that I'm going to pic a date, the list a make here will be more of a guideline how many dudes I could get on. (most likely friday or sunday but if it can be arranged then in the middle of week) Players: =VG= Castor =VG= SavageCDN Wooz2770 =VG= Terremer IF YOUR NAME WASN'T MENTIONED PLEASE NOTIFY ME, ALSO YOUR TIMEZONE AND A SUGGESTION ON THE EVENT DATE WOULD BE APPRECIATED!
  18. yeap, excellent work on the mission :)
  19. ATTENTION!!! you guys are missing the point! the idea isn't to join the BIG EVENTS yet! the idea is the get more experience faster! the idea is to arrange a mass of smaller events where we can train for example only on using specific vehicles, weapons, etc. also training formations, Radio coms, Map reading etc. but to get 4 guys once or twice a week to play isn't that hard i think
  20. So what's the basic organization of L.A.M.B.S? It doesn't seem like a Clan or Community type of organization, if so I wouldn't need to join it I could just play with you regularly, right? also I had a hard time finding the web page of Lambs, does it have one? also savage the overall idea was to get experience with ACE/ACRE, leading, map reading, tactics, teamwork ETC. I didn't mean that the FTs would be locked but we would have a full FT or FTs available for smaller event or events ran by us and later bigger ones ran by =VG=, LAMBS, Shacktac, 15th MEU, etc. etc. EDIT: the SQ idea is pretty hard to make reality because it requires about 12 players
  21. Ok so after having so Fun time on ARMA 2 event last Saturday I had an Idea of setting up regular FT(s) or a whole Squad that we could use for playing with other clans and on events setup by others. I really dont have much else to add here even tho I feel like I should write like 1 A4 of stuff clarifying my point while augmenting it and such. ATTENTION! this/these FT(s)/SQ WILL primarily be in =VG= events and Secondarily on any other. also with this group we could play more often due to lower amount of players. so just a simple Question, who's up for it? and who's not, why not? Players ATM: 1. =VG= Castor 2. =VG= SavageCDN 3. Wooz2770 (Support) 4. =VG= Terremer (Recon) 5. AirborneAlways (Sniper) 6. =VG= Renainn (Sniper/M1A1) 7. Murderface (FTL/Pilot/Inf) IF YOUR NAME WASN'T MENTIONED PLEASE NOTIFY ME, ALSO YOUR TIMEZONE AND A SUGGESTION ON THE EVENT DATE WOULD BE APPRECIATED!
  22. Report, FT1. we started off by making sure everyone had their loadouts checked, Radios setup and ground rules understood. as a fresh graduate from FTL training I made sure I had an experienced combat veteran in my team, and so I recruited Ford/Gaz in my lot. Next team-members joined as they wanted meaning Speirs, and Charry. This way I had a motivated group with people who I could trust on and who trusted me. The landing on OP1 was smooth and easy, we cleared the small town nearby with no contacts, after this we regrouped with the remainder of FT2 and FT3 along with SL. We decided to do a flanking move while the rest of the Squad would assault. If I remember correctly the assault was almost perfect and we took the point with minimal casualties. After taking out the Artillery camp we moved back to the boats and went mainland. After regrouping on RP and setting up on the hills surrounding the barracks. We decided to move to the town nearby due to lack of visibility and cover on the hill, this was a mistake for the enemy saw us moving to town and started a barrage of grenades, at this point me and Speirs died. I hope Ford/Gaz can continue my report. (he succeeded as FTL) Our first attempt Kind of failed due to lack of players (some joined later) We should start these events with a random map to get comfortable with your team and get your mods set up. also getting some speed before starting really should make things easier. my FT worked really well under pressure and did everything as I commanded, couldn't have better men under my wing :) Another thing I must voice out is the lack of training, we should really make some smaller events (like locked Insurgency) where FTs can train their skills and situational awereness. And here is the weapon request: HK417 4x HOLO (1st choice). If not possible I'd like a m16a4 M203 ACOG.
  23. yeap, I'd be happy to take sam under my wing :)
