  1. I'm hitting $900.00 on this build. You need to check your PSU stats and make sure you can support this video card. You can probably save some money on the motherboard. You need to find one that has the features you want. I found some for $100 bucks. Do you want to go crossfire or not? how many ethernet ports? etc. The MB you picked has tri pci-e16x. Are you gonna run three video cards? Win7 Pro 64 - $140.00 and yes you want win7 pro 64 and not home or ultimate or whatever or 32bit. Always get the full version and never an upgrade. You picked a boxed CPU so u don't need an aftermarket fan unless you are going to overclock. I picked the 955 and not the 965. For ram try a better brand. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145263 And try this video card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127490 And don't skimp on the case. You need some good cooling power. This is the insurance portion of your investment. You don't want to cook your new parts. Try a coolermaster HAF 922. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119197&cm_re=haf_922-_-11-119-197-_-Product If you insist on going Intel then these are the main parts to pick. This is a rock solid combo! People are overclocking to 4ghz with this setup. You may have to get a good fan though. Asus P6T motherboard. i7 930 CPU w/fan 3x2gb (1600) sticks of ram for a total of 6gb. Corsair or G.Skill etc. no cheap crap. if you overclock you can get this fan on the net for $30. It kicks ass in cooling. COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
  2. For an nVidia card get something with GTX in it. Memory for new INTEL system should be ddr3, so dimms need to be in triplets or about 6gb. You can go with 2 dimms and 4gb with an AMD system Give me your budget and I'll design you a system. Just three questions. Are you upgrading an existing system and reusing the motherboard or other parts in your new system? Are you going to overclock? If you are overclocking, how will you cool the system? Water or air? I just ordered parts for my new system and my bill is 4k. I went absolutely ballistic. 6-core, dual sli, etc. I'll post specs and pics when I get it all together. I also may have a q6600 ddr2 system with 2-4gb of ram going up for sale soon ( if I don't make a media server out of it first ).
  3. It's not free time, it is quality time. Lemmings need not apply.
  4. Arma requires planning, logistics and a strategy. It can take 30 minutes to preposition equipment for a coordinated attack. It can take forever to drive a main battle tank across the map and one hellfire to send it back home. To support armor u need: AAA or air superiority An ammo truck A repair truck and engineers.
  5. Check out this thread about freelook which does the same thing as Track-IR. http://www.veterans-gaming.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?396.post
  6. Harry, No other mods. I'm still learning the game. I have mostly been a sneaky infantry guy. Some rotary. Mostly in the Seahawk doing lifts and wrecks. Some UH-1Y, Cobra and Apache. No fixed wing as my joystick doesn't like ARMA that much. I have to get into my joystick profiles and set it up to work right. To lazy atm. YOU GUYS NEED ARMA! It's a whole new level of play!
  7. No. I've been running around the 7thCAV server and their COOP mod.
  8. More goodies. A T-90 and a KA52 I stole on some side missions. Some .50 cal support during a night mission.
  9. Holy thread resurrection. Helldiv3r, no t enough interest. So it's shelved. Vision, true. But, this is info for the player. In real life you wouldn't stand 1 foot behind it and press the button.
  10. Only $37 at newegg.com http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832329005&cm_re=arma_2-_-32-329-005-_-Product "http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832329005&cm_re=arma_2-_-32-329-005-_-Product"

Redgoose LAN_WROTE ... I want to buy sun one of this PC.s but have anyone of you a good or bad experiences? Or any suggestions tnx. 1) AMD Phenom II X6 1035T (2.60GHz, 512kx6) Legitieme Windows® 7 Home Premium - Nederlands 1GB ATI® Radeon? AMD is still dual channel I think. Can't remember. Also if you plan on playing older games you should get Win7 Professional. It can emulate WinXP etc. The radeon is good but if your going nVidia get a card that has GTX in it. GTS is the basic card. Say a 460 Are you building your system or buying from a vendor?
  13. Oh, and when you want to do a little fishin.
  14. I'm running at max settings. I'm sitting right around 30 and hitting low 20's or teens when the explosions get crazy. I honestly haven't noticed that much. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 6/28/2010, 12:51:09 Machine name: FUZZY-B51C88246 Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.100216-1514) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: NVIDIA System Model: 122-CK-NF68 BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) Memory: 2046MB RAM Page File: 681MB used, 5803MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.5512 32bit Unicode --------------- Display Devices --------------- Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce 8800 GTX DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0191&SUBSYS_C8313842&REV_A2 Display Memory: 768.0 MB Current Mode: 1280 x 1024 (32 bit) (85Hz) Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor Monitor Max Res: 1600,1200 Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll Driver Version: 6.14.0011.9745 (English)
  15. I've been playing a mod for Arma2 called Chernarus Life: Revolution. You are warned if you fire a weapon in the spawn area. By the third shot you're placed in jail for like 3+ minutes. There's a lot of developer drama behind the mod but it is pretty cool. You can play a civilian/terrorist or a cop. Makes for some hilarity anyway. You guys should try out the [HGs] server when they get it updated to 1.07. I've tried looking for the PBO file on the net but the only version I have been able to find is an Australian one and it is an older version. Blud, I saw the VG arma2 server. I'm still learning. When I dry of my ears I'll come hang out there and get the population up.
  16. CryENGINE 3 looks fricken beautiful. But that is comparing apples to oranges. I have Crysis and it is awesome as singleplayer. But on MP it just sucks. It rewards individuals vs. teams. After dealing with script kiddies, exploits and hacks I shelved it after a week of MP. CE3 is being designed for consoles as well. It's gonna be fricken beautiful graphics. But it is being used for arcade type play. Why do I play PR and now ARMA2? Because I get a bigger sense of accomplishment from team goal oriented play. Planning a strategy and executing a flawless mission against a dynamic opponent is fricken awesome. Why I don't play multiplayer Crysis, BF:Bad Company, MW2 or the upcoming Medal of Honor? Because these are games specifically designed to be ARCADE style. Engineered for consoles first and then ported to the PC. It's absolutely boring to play one of these games just to have some 15yo camp the spawn or whatever. Btw. How large of a map does CE3 support? Because the maps in Arma are fricken HUGE.
  17. The graphics are amazing in max. I sat in the ocean on a RIB and there were 3 foot swells. The engine needs some polish. I would get certain graphics bugs here and there. And night time is pitch black. You are really screwed without some night vision goggles. And you need to know how to read terrain and a map. Brush up on your land navigation skills.
  18. I think everyone should get it just to flyn the V-22. :D
  19. Did you ever wish that you should have stayed in bed that day?
