  1. Leave it on DOMI.

In Domi a m107TWS sniper with MWAHS can clear an AO. It is very easy imho. But all the new guys need to play the game and learn the mechanics.

I saw a mod yesterday called TFOR or something which was interesting. It's like DOMI but had units scattered across the map. It was too short tho. 4 mish accomplished and it was over.
  2. I suggest we play with the server set private with a password. If we leave it open then we need to have admin access and lock the aircraft to VG. Otherwise you will get A-10 whores capping the AO alone or bombing the shit out of the main. I've seen some settings where if a player fires a weapon in main they will be kicked.

Beside if we are alone we can do some training on the game mechanics and not be disturbed.
  3. Pain in the ass, isn't it. I surfed for a month while building and rebuilding my new system on paper. I was triple checking compatibility and all that BS. I've built enough systems by now to know that if you don't check everything that fancy new feature will nott work to it's full potential unless you get the compatible part.

It used to be that just the CPU and memory needed to be checked for compatibility. Now you have to make sure the PSU, video card, and MB can all play nice together as well. The only shit truly plug and play anymore are the USB devices.

On a side note: I finally ordered my crap and now I just received a notice that UPS is gonna delay delivery for another day. Grrrrrrrrr.
  4. Just saw your PSU. JUNK!

    Let me look for one.

okay. I can't find a really good one for less than $120.
I recommend 550w for single vid card and 750w for 2 vid cards.
    I also recommend modular plugs.
Go name brand like Thermalake and Corsair, etc.

This is a non-modular and I'm not sure of the company but it's 750w with decent reviews and in your price range.
KINGWIN ABT-730MM 730W ATX 12V Ver.2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply

Otherwise try this one which is modular. i.e. removable cables.
    Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-775M 775W ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE
  5. Your motherboard has an nVidia chipset. The radeon will work but you can't go crossfire later on. Tthere may limit it's full potential and I am worried about unforeseen conflicts between the vid card and the motherboard.

Try an AMD chipset or if you like that board we need to find you a nVidia gfx card.

Here is a MSI board that has the latest AMD chipset and can support 6-cores so you can upgrade later.
    MSI 890FXA-GD70 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Bump up to a 500gb hard drive. It's only $10 more. Get 1tb if you can swing it. Or if you are not worried about losing data. Go with two 500gb drives and run them as RAID 0 for a nearly 2x performance boost on read/write speeds.
  6. I'm hitting $900.00 on this build. You need to check your PSU stats and make sure you can support this video card.

You can probably save some money on the motherboard. You need to find one that has the features you want. I found some for $100 bucks. Do you want to go crossfire or not? how many ethernet ports? etc. The MB you picked has tri pci-e16x. Are you gonna run three video cards?

Win7 Pro 64 - $140.00 and yes you want win7 pro 64 and not home or ultimate or whatever or 32bit. Always get the full version and never an upgrade.

You picked a boxed CPU so u don't need an aftermarket fan unless you are going to overclock. I picked the 955 and not the 965.

For ram try a better brand. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145263

And try this video card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127490

And don't skimp on the case. You need some good cooling power. This is the insurance portion of your investment. You don't want to cook your new parts.
    Try a coolermaster HAF 922. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119197&cm_re=haf_922-_-11-119-197-_-Product

If you insist on going Intel then these are the main parts to pick. This is a rock solid combo! People are overclocking to 4ghz with this setup. You may have to get a good fan though.

    Asus P6T motherboard.
    i7 930 CPU w/fan
3x2gb (1600) sticks of ram for a total of 6gb. Corsair or G.Skill etc. no cheap crap.
if you overclock you can get this fan on the net for $30. It kicks ass in cooling.

  7. For an nVidia card get something with GTX in it.
Memory for new INTEL system should be ddr3, so dimms need to be in triplets or about 6gb.
You can go with 2 dimms and 4gb with an AMD system

Give me your budget and I'll design you a system.
    Just three questions.
Are you upgrading an existing system and reusing the motherboard or other parts in your new system?
    Are you going to overclock?
If you are overclocking, how will you cool the system? Water or air?

I just ordered parts for my new system and my bill is 4k. I went absolutely ballistic. 6-core, dual sli, etc. I'll post specs and pics when I get it all together.

I also may have a q6600 ddr2 system with 2-4gb of ram going up for sale soon ( if I don't make a media server out of it first ).
