Even easier than that is to leave borders on, then you just drag each gauge to whatever position you want, even across to a second screen if you wish. Once you've got them in place, turn borders off.

My real point is we don't need to change rules about kit stealing to protect Volod's ability to keep his MG. If someone steals a kit, you see it and you're an admin warn him, kick him if he does it again, ban him if he persists. Its pretty simple really. Sem is right we should not be condoning TKs for something admins can handle.
I don't always trust someone who !reports a person allegedly stealing kits unless I witness it. Same thing with TKs. We are not expected to be everywhere at all times. If you're an admin do your job, if you're not report it.

Pending the original question. Kitstealing is simply the same as stealing an asset and should be kickable. Personally I see no issue when a person teamkills a person who is deliberately stealing a kit as it is impossible for an admin to keep track of this and kinda bullshit to wait to even see if they respond.
I don't agree entirely Double but I do understand the player's frustration. But where do you draw the line? Kits cannot be owned by anyone, if you are dead unless your medic revives you why should that kit remain yours because you happened to pick it from the crate before anyone else?
There's also the assumption that the guy who has a specialist kit actually knows how to use it properly. Do we let a complete noob "own" the HAT kit because he got it first and the whole squad gets blown to hell because he has no damn clue how to kill a tank? So there's a whole lot more to kits than simply saying don't steal kits. The squad leader should have the right to tell someone to drop their kit if they think that member is incompetent and someone who has the skills should be using it. If you have a squad of noobs then it doesn't matter. The issue on the VG server is limiting kits for the entire team once the noobs have grabbed the HAT kits and left them on the battlefield we're all left with buggarall to defend ourselves. Happens quite a lot, not when the server is full I'll admit.

Noted. Thanks for that Melon.

Cheers Melon! Is it back to 6 squad members for full kit access?
-
Ok no problems I thought it was a bug. So how many to get one HAT?
-
Hey guys,
I was on Muttrah Std the other day with 7 squad members and no-one could access a HAT kit, have there been changes to the kit restrictions or something? We kept getting "unavailable for your forces right now message". This makes life difficult enough when there are only 7 players on the server but I always thought any kit was accessible with 6 players in the squad?

I still reckon the Harrier lands smoother and with more control than that F35, holy crap they must damage the under-carriage a lot!

That's what I'm saying. In the video he uses his index finger to hit the Z and X keys, he even makes a point of how dumb it is, but in normal typing, you would use the finger that would be in line with it. Normally that would be the pinky for Z and the ring for X, however, if your using WASD, it would be your ring for Z and middle for X, or use your thumb.
I was just making a point on how a major gripe of his about using WASD is having to use his index finger to hit Z and X, but I suppose that's all up to how he learned to type in the first place. Also, if you move to the TFGH, do you not have the same problem with the CVBN keys now that he first had with the (backslash key for him) and ZXC keys?Good points there CptHawk, what I'd like to know before I screw up my default settings is what the hell do we use for picking up kits, using the T command, using H for local? Plus when a noob starts the game and cannot even talk using mumble , now we've got to remember not only our own key binds but we also need to remember the default ones? Not very practical imo. I get it done with WASD, no idea what he's whinging about.

my problem is on loading...it takes me about 9 minutes to load into the servers now...not just VG...like 2 flags are capped by the time I load in...I stay on 15% for literally 5 minutes. Maybe the graphic settings changed on update...I will start there
I always take ages to login to a map, for me it sits on 15% for more than 9 minutes sometimes it used to take longer but since I've created a static IP address and set up my game ports for port forwarding its a lot better. I personally think the speed is down to an old crappy laptop which I'm resisting to upgrade because my mate BrokenArrow can login before a lot of other people because he's running a better spec machine.

Was on Fallujah West and built a TOW, unfortunately you cannot get on it because it thinks you are trying to enter a vehicle! Nice one.
Oh I see Stark mentioned this already so it looks like a common problem across several or all maps?

Never heard of That Kav but if you say so. Not in this country.
Yeah you're right Colbalt, I just checked this out on my laptops, and PR will not let me join the same server, I get a error message, "Wrong CD-Hash" something like that. But I can login to a different PR server on one laptop and also login to a different PR server on the other laptop using the same internet connection. I just assumed I could the same server. I even tried a new PR account and same error.
I'm not going to do an install of BMS to see whether this is a thing so if someone wants to test that out be my guest. Vanilla suggested using a VPN which might work, don't know I don't have an account. -
They should be able to create a static IP address for each computer and connect that way, I can connect to the PR servers on two separate computers using the same internet connection, never tried it with the BMS server but I imagine it could be done.

You are exactly right - the models.
That one check box would apply to the host of a game, definitely important to have it set as desired if the machine will host a session either by LAN or online server, but if we connect as mere clients to another server, it won't do anything. Same with the SameTileSet thing - will come into play when we want to host a session. I could see it being useful for a PvP environment so people aren't flying out with "48" AIM-120C's in a Harrier - haha!!
Thank you, Kav!No problem that's your bloody image that you gave me to use to set my BMS configuration!!!

Hi Bamma,
It could be those JanHans models that are affecting it or you could have one of the configuration settings out.Have a look and see that Same Acdata Files Required' is unchecked as below, and get back to us.

Daniel and myself are flying BMS this coming Saturday and possibly Sunday.
I'm in South Australia so we're hoping to meet up from 9:00 ZULU and fly a few sorties.
Its been 3 months since I last flew BMS so I'll be a little rusty.
If you want to join us meet up in TS this Saturday 28th.

VPN increases stability of your entire connection as it creates a tunnel that doesn’t hop to different nodes. It might be his provider tends to reroute busy traffic to other nodes (and those might be ....).
from personal experience.
Sounds like Ranger's provider could be throttling his internet connection, apparently if a VPN increases your speed that's usually a good indicator. I've tried a VPN for a month and it actually slows my speed down.

Well, it's not. Not sure where that information came from, but I don't always know how networks and the infrastructures connect. I just know where our server is physically located, in a massive datacenter... more than 200 km from Kassel in Vogtlandkreis. They have another one in Nürnberg, but still that's quite a distance from Kassel. Just FYI
He got that from my speedtest.net results. According to this page the Veterans IP address is coming from the data center in Nuremberg.
Not sure which server that would be on the speedtest.net page so just picked one.

I set up a static IP address and port forwarded my router specifically for Project Reality, that takes a wee bit of time to setup but I find it is more stable and reliable.
"Routers were not designed to allow incoming network requests and some games can play tremendously better if an incoming connection is forwarded through the router to the game ". quote from this page on port forwarding". You add the following ports for Battlefield 2TCP Ports 4711, 27901, 28910, 29900, 299 UDP Ports 1500-4999, 16567, 27900, 29900 I used the following link to help me set that up but there are other threads on the net that go into more detail if you need it.

I read as many Marvel comics as I could get my hands on as a kid.
I remember my teachers and parents saying, "It'll rot your brain, comics are not good for you", etc, etc.
WTF did they know, Stan Lee became a millionaire and had an estimated net worth of $50-80 million!!
R.I.P. Stan Lee.
