Duly noted. Thanks for the update.
  2. Well done Melon! I know many of us are looking forward to a fantastic event and unpredictable experience.
  3. Nice to hear. Could we have another crack at the same maps?? Go on! Please Give us another GO!!!
  4. Great Stuff!! I look forward to viewing the action!! Thanks for the Video!
  5. Great Stuff! Well done to all who took part. I envy you all. Being part of the first ever event is a milestone in its self!!

  7. Greetings. I just got on, I had a medical emergency. How did it go? When is the next one.
  8. Best to download the current standalone version of PR directly from the PR web site It is just under 8GB. Then check the first post in this thread for Melons Magic Maps.
  9. Questions are good. Plans are Fantastic. However, remember that the "plan" is usually the first thing that suffers in combat. That is why it is best to have the USMC approach to warfare. "Overcome and Adapt". We do it all the time and I am sure it will be the same thing on the day. We will obviously assign and take up roles on the fly, during the event. Considering the calibre of players we have on the server, I predict we are going to pwn the maps in record time!! After all, we will all be directly working together.
  10. Try tinkering with your graphics settings. I was getting CTD when I added anti aliasing values.
  11. I know how frustrating it can be. Please stay the course and continue the good work. However, with consistency and the enthusiasm of a few keen folks, it can be a tide that will turn for the better. After all, we only need to set the standards and others will follow. I understand that not every one is a "true" team player. Working on drills with accepting and dedicated team players should be not include such players. Most of these simply do the bare minimum to support fellow team mates. It is important to identify these players and obviously ensure they are left to their own devices, as in some cases they can be of great use as either cannon fodder, agitators or "agents provocateur" for the OP FOR. They are "kill oriented" and see the score they achieve as the be all and end all, rather than an incidental outcome of their commitment to team play. Trust me it works. It happened in the past and is happening now. You find that if the team play is exceptional and effective, even these soloist join in, as they really have no choice.
  12. I would also like to add that If I had a choice, on the day, I would be honoured to run a Logistics/Repair/Rescue Squad, comprising mostly of Engineers and Medics. It will be great fun to get called to an "incident" to either repair damaged vehicles, revive injured troops or rescue downed pilots & stranded crewmen.
  13. Any Ground Pounder Role, critical on the day, is Good for me.
  14. Like the first time a round, I am looking forward to continuing the routine running of Recon Team Tactical Sessions and Boot Camps for Players with limited Collaborative experience. A Big Thank You to all the =VG= Community for making me feel welcome and supporting my efforts in getting this going. There is no disputing that there is already an impressive level of teamwork. I am just looking to focus on getting new players up to speed and help other great regulars be better at collaborating Areas that I will be looking at will be Ground to CAS communication and team work. Taking more than 1 minute or 30 seconds to respond to a strike request is too long. Another area will be infantry and squad tactics, with the primary task of getting players working together and trusting their squad mates. This is especially important for Specialist units such as Medics, AT, Engineers, and Snipers. I look forward to the day we get back to the time when it was a case of how quickly as a team we could finish a map was the main challenge, and not player conduct or game play issues. I am also hoping that we will be able to go with a group to a deployment server and do some serious pwnage like we did in the past. So if you see me out there doing something you do not understand, please remember it is usually part of a training exercise. See You All Out There!!
  15. Well Done, Matey. Your hard work on getting and keeping the interest in modding in the spotlight, for COOP, is highly commendable.
  16. Greetings General!! Have a Happy New Year.

  17. Impressive....Well Done. More Please!!!!
  18. A player called Mr MEdic hacked the server spawning tanks, humvees and admin killing players. What can be done about these and what is the means to resolve this if and when it happens again?
  19. Thanks for all the support and kind regards guys. It is so refreshing. I must say that there is going to be a little time lag before I get on ACRE n ACE with you guys. I hope you had a great session on Saturday. It looks impressive, the numbers you have been able to assemble. The TS3 channel is always full. I am a firm believer in doing ones home work on the basics. So for now I will concentrate on learning the idiosyncrasies of this great game. That way I can ask you guys questions on the advanced stuff. I am happy to be a follower as well as a leader. So Savage, as squad leader you can yell at me any time.. After all its an integral part of the fun experience!!!

    New Begining

Wow! Just got Arma 2 over a week ago and I am finding it incredible!!! I have been going through the training sessions in boot camp and reading the manual, however some tasks and things need to be experienced to get the hang of how they work. A lot of folks have been very helpful too. It was great to see and get so much support and encouragement. It is a testament and tribute to the =VG- spirit and community. Keep up the good work guys. It was also a blast to play with all of you too. The game play is so different from PR but has its own appeal. A little buggy at times, but at least it loads very quickly, so in most cases a restart of the game is all you need. The numerous utilities that can be used to start the mods and core game are great. They update your mods automatically and launch the vanilla game. For all you doubters about Arma 2... It is well worth the money. The learning cure is also not that steep. Just make sure you got the hard drive space and a decent graphics card. Can't wait till we have our own DayZ server back up... That will be an awesome addition. While I still Love PR and will forever be a Diehard of BF2, I acknowledge that Arma 2 has a lot to offer us all. Hope to see more of you out there and may we continue to see more excellent teamwork.
  21. Sorry Guys for the Looong Absence. Got a lot on. Real world wise. So gaming for now is on the back burner. I will return. You can count on that!! In the mean time, keep up the excellent team work and community spirit. Play a few rounds for me while yer at it too!! B
  22. Good to hear from you. Real life is really that, Real life. Join us when you can.
  23. Good job all!! I can see we got a lot of creative talent here at VG. Here's looking to more expression in the future. Even though a choice has been made, I think it is a great idea to keep this thread open and let folks continue to submit ideas and concepts. After all it is one of the many ways folks can continue to contribute to the adventure. Once again, Congratulations to the current winner.
