Issues getting on and staying on the minecraft server

I finally was able to stay on the mc server for more than a minute. It appeared all was well, then black screen and back to the desk top. I do have a crash report if that would help. I have attempted to log on since, and I am taken back to the desk top after it loads onto the server.

Any ideas?

Does single player work?

you could try to install a new instance of the modpack "modsauce 2" because it could be corrupted. We do not require you to have any of the additional mods. If this issue keeps occurring I would like to get my hands on the crash report to see if it's a mod issue or a server issue.

Unless included in the crash log some basic info about your PC would be nice. Laptop or not, OS, RAM ...

Ran into a similar problem while on a backup laptop (Win7 64bit, 4GB RAM). It just couldn't handle the size of the mod pack and crashed back to desktop. Make sure you're running MC with 64bit Java (loads of guides how to do it online, easy) and try out single player. If that doesn't do it try reinstalling and test again, maybe lack of memory broke something while unpacking.
That's all I can think of now. In my experience CTDs like that are out of memory related (unless some files are broken). Report back if something works for you and otherwise include the crash log.

Sorry for lack of info.

Yes it works in single player.

My comp is:

Mini Tower PC, Windows 7 Pro, 16 GB RAM, NVidia GeForce GTX 950 on SLI with total video Ram 4 GB.

Is there a setting on the server that states if a connected player's ping goes too high they are disconnected?

Maybe you might have gotten confused with the ip listed on the forum "31.132.2.104"

and the actual IP we use 5.9.23.136

if this wasn't the case I suggest you delete the instance of a the modpack and redownload it.

Please make sure you have modsauce 2 and not modsauce. You won't be the first that makes that mistake.

And for your question about server setting.

no there is no setting for this it can be you lag out but other then that there are no max ping restrictions.

if all this doesn't work I would like to see your console log that the AT launcher has so we could see if there is a possible bigger issue

I noticed that once I log into the single player game, there are messages regarding updated mods, could that be an issue? The server has those updates and I do not?

No you should not update those mods since this will make your Modlist different then the one that are currently running on the server; thus making it impossible for you to join.

Ok so I checked the IP, correct. I decided to log on today. I managed to get on the server for about 2 minutes. Then the game dropped to windows. I do have a crash log if that will help.

It could be that your Minecraft isn't getting enough RAM to be able to survive for long on servers with loads of machines running at the same time. Go to your AT launcher - Settings - Java/minecraft tab and check how much max RAM usage is allowed. It should be at least over 2gb in order for the modded minecraft to stay active.

could be a problem with EnderIO and a witherskeleton issue, try this:
1. go to your modpack installation folder.
2. in this folder go to minecraft -> config -> enderio and open the file EnderIO.cfg (with notepad or notepad++ or ...).
3. look for the line "B:replaceWitherSkeletons=true" (somewhere around line 557).
4. change the true value to false.
5. start the game and pray to the gods.
6. if it works hooray, if not, change that value back to true so we don't mess up the game in another way!

some people had this issue to with the mods "Ender Zoo" or "Exotc Birds" but as these mods were not installed from what I see in the report this was a dead end.

I found that setting and it was at false. So I changed it to true and the same issue. I changed it back to false.

Failure description is at the very beginning:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Default value cannot be lower than minimum value!

Been browsing for a few minutes and it seems to be an issue with a value in one of the entities listed after "Forced entities". Every mob has a max and min value for damage, speed etc. as well as a default value for each. If the internet is to be trusted, one of the mods added a mob and for some reason it's attributes are incorrect, resulting in the error above.

removing EnderZoo has solved it for one person, if trying that is an option.

Other than that:
If you installed the modpack before switching to 64bit or increasing Java memory allocation, you may have had an issue while unpacking and installing (which happens on the first MC launch IIRC). Uninstall, delete the folder manually (if necessary) and reinstall from scratch. Painful, but let's you rule out a corrupt installation.
Just be patient on the first launch and don't exit even if it says "minecraft stopped responding". Of course it's not responding, it's busy unpacking / installing! I see 2.5 of 4GB being allocated in the log so Java should be set up properly by now.

If you want to dig through all the forum posts and maybe find a better solution, just search for the error message at the beginning. Loads of MC players have had the issue.

As Brian said it is a issue with a mob and vannila minecraft does not cause this problem so we can exclude all those entities (in your crash log) and after removing all the vannila entities we are left with:

Now the cricket is the only modded entity that is loaded in the game so this could very well be the cause, and by what I found out this is a mob added by the animalsplus mod.
Is it possible to disbale a mod on the server without messing the server up? If so you could try that.

If you could disable it on the server side this could work but if you disable it only on client side it would cause errors (servers says there is a cricket at X: ... Y: ... but client says it does not know what crickets are -> crash) (<-- what I think will happen). Could you see if the crickets work in singleplayer, spawn one or find one to be 100% sure cause it would be kinda strange that this is a server only issue (It could still be another issue that is causing the crash :/ ).

I'm sorry for not paying much attention to this problem before now. Do you get a similar error every time? I checked your coordinates in-game, seems like it's just outside my base, but I can't find anything suspicious. If it really is the crickets that makes you crash it should be safe to disable them on the server if it's possible through the configs, but I'd like to see some more crash logs to make sure it really is the cause.

I deleted the instance and reinstalled it through ATLauncher. I had the same issue, the game loads, I see the menu, select multiplayer, click on the VG address, starts to load the game up, then blank screen showing the cobblestone (normal behavior), then back to desktop.

Sounds pretty stupid but can someone kill that cricket at: EntityCricket['Cricket'/489521566, l='MpServer', x=983.69, y=62.97, z=123.22], if this entity is no longer there maybe you will beable to stay on longer (until the next one spawns) and so we would know if this mod causes the issue, but it's a wild guess ...
