  1. Thank you. wow you guys really do get into the nitty gritty of this old platform. Amazing what you guys have done. Currently, we are unable to set maps due to the lesser admin rights being removed.
  2. Semler - you did an awesome job - even if you say you're somewhat noobish ;). I think you're being modest....You "adapted" quickly, GREAT JOB! Your past experience shined! Hope to see you on more.... (**EDIT*** And Semler - I think of it more like a gathering of sorority girls admiring someone else's wedding ring. ...all bunched up and crowded together - looking at a central point in a circle ) Seems to be human nature in this game....why do we tend to look inward at each other rather than outward - covering the medics healing? 2 of the best ambassadors to the game of PR. Kavelenko & HaterOneActual! "Kav" for his Zen master calmness, patience & sense of fun. "Hater" for his ability to instill confidence in his subordinates, ability to adapt so quickly to the situation, and both for their communication skills and allowing their people to do the job assigned to them. When my PR avatar grows up, it wants to be just like theirs....lol Thanks to VG for the event! I did have fun. We're so used to advancing all the time in COOP, I especially liked the fact that we were attacking, defending to the last man - literally - and withdrawing to support each other. Something we don't see regularly in COOP play. The coordination (especially on Fools road?) was a thing of beauty. I felt like a beat dog afterwards, but man! what an adrenalin rush.
  3. I don't know if this has been suggested before, but..... People talk about the coop server being too difficult or too easy. Part of that is how many people are in-game - and to some extent - the experience of the player. If the server population is low, it becomes to difficult and people rage quit. Consequently, the server population has been low or non-existant at night. Even now, there are only 5 or 6 people playing the VG coop server. Is there a way of spawning bots/bot vehicles/bot assets depending on the number of BluFor players? (i.e Low Blufor population, Bot vehicles don't spawn or re-spawn as quickly. As the BluFor players increase, at a certain point, the bots & bot assets spawn as normal? ) This way, we get a challenge no matter how many players are in-game.
  4. Hey Double, I was just a squad member. I was just commenting on things I saw going on. I just felt terrible for my squad leader. It was tough to hear his orders through all the superfluous, long winded, conversations going on. Some banter is awesome and funny at times. But the constant complaining...yikes. I just expected alittle more from some of the experienced players who kept spamming voice. Then the other stuff kinda handcuffed us as well. I enjoyed the intent of the event though.
  5. Suggestions for the next event........ 1) LET THE SQUAD LEADERS LEAD Stop with the "I wanna do this" "We need to do this". The SL is talking to other SL's and commander. Let the SL lead. You don't know everything going on with "THE TEAM". 2) CLEAR COMMs keep talk to a minimum (call out contacts). Let the SL talk to other SL's & commanders. Most of us are experienced PR players, I've heard women talk less If you're not the squad leaders and you want to give orders to other experienced players, START YOUR OWN SQUAD. 3) STOP WITH THE KIT STEALING The SL chose a particular class for a person based on their proficiency. Stick with that kit unless you're asked to change. We had an Engineer squad. Why take the engineer kit when they need it???? Why try to take an AA kit when someone was designated to us AA??? I dropped ammo for the AA guy. I knew he was there. Maybe too much talking and not enough paying attention? 4) STOP RUNNING OFF ON YOUR OWN This is a team event. It's to showcase teamwork - We complain about lack of teamwork on the standard coop server and yet some still behave as if they're self important and behave just like noobs. Listen to the SL/Commander. Defending doesn't mean 6 guys defending and you deciding you're better moving off on your own. Ask the SL. 5) READ THE EVENT INFORMATION a. Limited kits - The informaton tells you, we have limited kits. b. Early Spawn - The event info tells you if you spawn early you will give an advantage to the OPFOR team. WHY SPAWN???? If your squad leader takes a long time to spawn, WHY SPAWN???? Wait for the team to be ready. Thats why we also have teamspeak.

    PR Bans

Best ban ever..... Nearing the end of a game, someone deliberately crashed the Osprey to increase our ticket bleed. "go ahead and kick me" was his comment before crashing the Osprey. I laughed so hard when I saw his temp ban!!!! ROFLMAO I wish I could remember the guy's name. Still...nice one, to the admin responsible. Hopefully, he (the player) won't do that again.
  7. Something I have never seen before........ Most of the game, I didn't have any issues. Then a few minutes ago, when I put the scope up to shoot, the graphics looking through the scope LAGGGGG. I asked if other people were having that problem and they said yes. Beirut map. aim with Iron sights, no problem. Running around, no graphics lag. aim using scope.....LAAGGGGGG Any ideas guys?
  8. Sometimes, it just stops working without any warning. Sometimes, my screen will flash white (win10). There is no speaker that is crossed out, at bottom right corner, until I restart mumble and it still doesn't work. I tried to shut down mumble and let it restart - doesn't work. I switch to lobby and when I try to switch back to squad "you are denied access to squad x". I tried as commander...."you are denied access to Commander channel". So I get stuck in the lobby. In the end, I have to restart the game. Sometimes that doesn't work. Sometimes, I have to restart my computer. It happened 7 or 8 times last night. Hasn't happened at all - tonight - so far.
  9. NOt sure what is going on. Sometimes, my mumble stops working mid-game. I try to fix it using "move to lobby then back to squad", but I get you are denied access.

    FOB update

The Bots also do this on Fallujah west. There is a compound just north east of US Main where there is destroyable corrugated fence. I like to take advantage of it by letting the bots - just get stuck there, trying to jump over the fence. After 15 or so bots, it makes the Hospital manageable with few people on. Unfortunately, some people don't think strategically and destroy the fence and kill the bots - letting them respawn at hospital. So in the end, it's not so much of a problem. But I thought I would mention it.
  11. Well, that makes sense....sort of. Some people like the vietnam maps, but they don't wanna play insurgents because they don't have scopes???? Too funny. As for playing OPFOR....I could swear, during one of the updates, I jumped in the server and was playing the MEC side on Muttrah. I know this because there were 20 people at MEC main - not knowing what to do - and I was in a BTR running bots over because my gunner was afk (on the gun) for most of the game. But I understand what you are saying. As for the Bots, they prioritize their targets pretty well. It just seems to me, either they 1 shot you with impossible shots or they don't pay any attention to you - while they are looking at you - and there is nothing else around for several grids. I get what your saying though. can you blame a guy for trying?
  12. Operation Barracuda: This map just isn't playable late at night with a dozen people playing. 1) all the choppers are shot down long before CAS can see shilka on thermals. 2) Our LAV can't make it to shore before being killed by BMP 3) shilka kills anything coming inland 4) with only 1 infantry squad, it's just not playable. Maybe if we had the best pilots & best APC & best infantryman....but c'mon...seriously...what caliber of players do we really get. Could it be removed from the map rotation, late at night?
  13. Thanks Kav, that explains it.... I thought you could use UAV from anyplace on the map. I guess it depends on a person's/player's viewpoint of what PR is. Is it a game only? Or is it a "tactical game"? As a tactical game, I'm amenable to being micromanaged on the virtual battlefield....just like IRL. It's part of military realism that PR was trying to inject into this game. If it were just "a game", I probably wouldnt listen to anyone and just run around shooting anything that moved. Like COD or BF4.
  14. 1) I was curious if there was any interest from VG players and player base of playing the OPFOR on maps as part of the rotation? Has this been attempted before? Muttrah 24/7 US side, Muttrah 24/7 MEC side (an old Muttrah version had a MEC CAS chopper on the tall tower). On Deployment, we used to alternate sides. I enjoyed playing Sbeneh, on both sides. It's different and breaks up the monotony. Thought it might be the same with the other maps. 2) Has balance between armor, air, and infantry been taken into consideration? For each map? Or does the map rotation reflect infantry heavy on certain maps, armor heavy on some, and air asset heavy on others? For instance, Kashan desert has become primarily an armor map. By the time an infantry squad (if there is one) gets to south bunker, it's time to attack MEC Main. I realize part of that is the experience of the player base. Sometimes 10 people can win Muttrah. Other times, 30 people can't hold East city. 3) As I understand the difficulty was turned down to the point when I spawned in front of 3 bots, they looked and me and kept walking away. Then, it was turned up, whereby I was head shot by an AR, with a single shot, from 100 meters while both of us were at a full sprint. I don't know if that is the difference between 91 and 92 or 91 and 93. I seem to notice that there doesn't seem to be a "perfect" balance. Either we are killed by impossible shots or the bots don't respond timely to enemy presence. Is that just the way the difficulty is? Is that something that can be adjusted? Turn up the bot's reaction to enemy presence, but have reasonable accuracy? We aren't accurate after a full sprint, why not the same for bots? ....kinda thing? Just asking.
  15. Love Dovre Winter. It's not utilized enough. I think it's one of the more fun maps, from what I've seen, with the constant, taking/re-taking of flags. Maybe it could replace Bijar in the rotation? Bijar seems to crash alot....and now Kashan. I can't help, but love Muttrah 24/7 though In the 8+ years I've played PR (Coop & Deployment).... A CO needs to have some credibility with the player base to be taken seriously (i.e. Kavelenko, Saltbush, Hateroneactual, ZT, WCCBadploy, =VG= tagged player.....sorry if I didnt mention you directly.) I've seen jokers, newish PR players or unrecognized players take the CO position and usually no one listens to them. IMO currently, the CO position is used to build/remove fobs, assets, call area attacks, and or get a specific kit or just to play alone in a one man squad driving around with their own personal logi truck. On occasion we will get great coordination with a CO when the experienced (read teamwork) players are CO & SL's. We don't mind defending and sometimes just waiting...waiting...waiting... How do we change that? Identify the proficient CO's currently. Hopefully a =VG= member or current crop of recognized SL's that know the CO position. Identify the SL's who's squads are always full - they will be recognized by a larger portion of the player base. Have the proficient CO's help the proficient SL's learn to be CO's. Also, we need to train SL's. I see the same people as SL's over and over and over and I'm sure you get burned out after awhile. But if you do train people, let them make the mistakes. Don't take command of their squad. Just provide alternative suggestions if the new SL seems lost or unsure. As SL's move to CO's, a new crop of SL's will become proficient and be recognized by a player base and thus a new crop of CO's can be trained. I agree with FrankoIT, I too have trouble with the commands, keystrokes, for specific orders/markers/UAV utilization. The manual only covers what you "can do" with the CO kit, not "what keystrokes" to use. I suppose one could create a local server and spend the time to make all the mistakes and learn, but it would be a heck of alot easier if someone with experience could tell us the specifics. For instance, I have trouble with the UAV. I keep getting a black screen when I try to zoom, whereas the manual shows a nice screenshot of zoomed in buildings...those kinds of things. Unrealistic suggestions?
  16. uh oh... Soggy, in addition to the mines, any chance we could place C4 on Double's vehicles? That would give us "half" a chance. Cya Saturday.

    FOB update

I like the idea and I have no issues with it, but I prefer not digging fobs. My mouse finger get's tired. As for the razorwire, AH C'MON! Nothing more funny than building instant razor wire in front of a door, in the basement of Hospital (Fallujah), line up the noob squad, aiming at the door, remove the razor wire and watch 15 bots come pouring out....then hear the reaction of the noob squad as they tear through them - hootin & hollarin! "Teamwork" - DONE! "Fun" ACCOMPLISHED! new PR player - HOOKED! In all seriousness, for experienced players (and enough of them) digging assets is not an issue. It's when you have a combination of casual players, new players, non-english, no mic, not responding, or "I just wanna shoot something" players that it becomes a bit of a pill. Late at night, with all the 1 man squads, there won't be enough players to build a fob and/or defenses. The worst case scenario has been, I'll see 1 person as infantry (I no speaka enlgihs), 5 people in Trans, 6 people in CAS. And everyone in air assets tk'ing over who get's to crash the next chopper/jet. And if we do get a few more infantry people playing, humvee, logi, helo theft as personal transport increases when there are no fobs. So, late night participation may drop for awhile. Let's give it a try though. Hopefully, Monkey see, Monkey do.
  18. I was asked to join Kavelenko's squad. I installed the maps, I can load them in local. When I try to play the map (road to Tampa), I can't spawn anywhere as the insurgent. Afraid that I might not be able to get into the game. What am I doing wrong?
