  1. Hi there, I have a couple of perplexing questions, please anyone that can help.? Just a quick count on a complete number of maps including all variations, we seem to have around 112 maps in total. Of this total number is there any information on how many are in their "original" version 1.5 format, how many have been 'screwed' around with and how many have been 'screwed' up ? You guys on Veteran's gaming are most fortunate in having the huge pool of players able to access your site and retain a reasonable playing ping, which is generally reflected on the consistent playing numbers exhibited on your site. The current list of available servers in a position to offer gaming on Project Reality in cooperation form is generally around 6 or 7 at this time, generally with the exception of Veterans gaming the large majority of these coop servers are well under their player capacity, some due to their geographical location, others due to language inconsistencies and others maybe quality control is below par however, it has certainly been most obvious that ALL servers have been suffering reduced participation rates since the introduction of version 1.6 and it's few patches to date, along with this many of the "old" long term players have also been scarce in their appearances. Why is this so? Well although my gaming time of late has been limited due to other commitments, I have managed to participate in a couple of the "screwed-up" maps mentioned previously, namely Kashan Desert ALT & STD, Bamyan STD and Jabal ALT. My "home" server although player number is limited to 24, prior to 1.6 was operating on a reasonable comfortable basis at around 75% occupation and at certain hours at 90%. Since the introduction of 1.6, we are extremely lucky if we can entice a number over 6 to join in and of that six, the vast majority are "new" gamers, whom when confronted with the types of "screwed-up" maps mentioned, find they are being slaughtered by a relentless never ending stream of undefendable armour and are either unable to access any armour to defend with or find what underperforming armour available all require 2 men to operate, leave the game in frustration. I feel the dilemma of our server is not in isolation and there is no doubt that Veteran's gaming numbers have been reduced of late and comprising of many "new" players, so in conclusion, what in the bloody hell can be done to return the PR game we all love and enjoy playing with like minded people, to one which whilst entertaining, is also competitive, free flowing, achievable, winnable and "server friendly" whether you have 5 or 40 players on line? In respect to my first question of concern on which of the 112 odd maps are still "as per version1.5" and not "screwed-up", knowing what maps are still virtually untouched by the 1.6 kiss of death, enable my server to cut these maps out of the regular rotation and ensure those left can be tackled by a smaller number of gamers and ensures those gaming can with some effort and fair play, be assured of an amicable conclusion and possible win. All of the concerns mentioned have 1 other degree of difficulty and that's being able to get through a game without the bloody thing crashing !!!!!!!!!!! Long winded, somewhat, but I just felt the need to air my concerns - thanks for your time & consideration.
  2. This is where I need your help: first enter a map as squad leader, change kits to a crewman, find a "2 man tank/AAV/APC" , enter the tank or asset of choice & you automatically occupy the driver's seat, next press either F1 or F2 and let me know what happens. You must be in a 2 man with no other troops inside. Next, find a Blackhawk or Huey, select the pilot kit and enter the Huey/Blackhawk pilot seat, then hit F1 or F2 once again and let me know what happens. the aircraft must be clear of any other troops. (I don't generally fly helicopters) I understand it's not accepted protocol to use a 2 man armoured vehicle on Vets however, you must remember not all servers have the luxury of having enough players to fully man 2 man vehicles and although there is "usually" a 40 odd second delay before the gun comes up, you did have the option of using it when required, sometimes necessity on a map is the Mother of invention !!! My activities on Project Reality cover numerous years as many on Vets would be aware of and I do know the difference between a BOT and flyable helicopter and what kit is required to use the asset. Thanks once again.
  3. Hi Kav, since updating to NBN (National Broadband Network) in Australia my map load time is around 2 minutes or less on GDO. In regards to the asset use mentioned by both yourself & Stark, I just did some "farting" around on Muttrah and deploying all listed assets was fine however, trying to use the asset is another story. Whether it be HMG, AA, TOW, shifting from pilot to passenger to gun in a helli, moving from driver to gun on a 2 man tank/AAV (to use as a single driver/gunner), you get the same warning followed by death "you cannot operate this vehicle position". (I haven't yet tried accessing the TOW on a Hummer so equipped) So yes, there is a monumental "stuff-up" in the 1.5.5.1 up-date that does need immediate attention from our friends at Project Reality, it's turning players away from the game as you cannot access the assets required to defeat a BOT enemy. This is mainly effecting the smaller and less populated co-op servers, as the larger ones such as Vets generally has the man (player) power to over come the deficiency. As I do not play on the "deployment" servers, I can't comment on their functionality, maybe some of you guys that do, can comment on the abovementioned function discrepancies - thanks.
