Download link updated, expect the usual "wow why is their respawn so slow" or last flag that doesn't bleed, since I haven't been super thorough, mostly just checked the maps don't crash, with assets and flags being on the correct side

Hello! I've spent the last 2 or 3 weeks editing layers for the available BF2 maps ported to PR, and while I do actually test maps before I run them on events (as hard as it is to believe), I still can't accurately evaluate their performance with real players on, AI teammates can only really get you so far in local testing, so I've decided to do a public test run for this upcoming event to get a better idea of what issues I need to look out for. Keep in mind I've still got some things to iron out, and some infantry focused layers to make, which won't take much time. But this is why I've set it a little farther than usual. Respawn speed is fixed (yes I've said this for every event post, and it hasn't been true for any of them lmao) and there will be a script running for bots (thanks to X0R, absolute legend) so they actually respawn reasonably quickly now. Remember that this is a test run, which means I'll need people to actually note down or remember any issues they notice in maps, anything from weird bot behavior, difficulty concerns, ideas, or balancing changes. And either let me know on the spot, OR in the discord thread I'll make at the start of the event. I HIGHLY encourage mechanized squads to take advantage of this, and utilize their armor effectively even after dismounting at/near a flag, like dismounting infantry and then retreating to a safer to cover your squad from. For the sake of convenience, during this test (this rule may be considered again for the future) If a MECH INF squad has been made, and no APC squad is to be seen, you may create a second MECH INF squad to claim another APC for your mechanized squad, this is to encourage more usage of APCs. Standard VG Rules apply, do not teamkill, disrupt, or annoy other players, unless it's polish and do not waste assets or use them irresponsibly. MAPS: Daqing Oilfields Dragon Valley Great Wall Gulf of Oman Highway Tampa Karkand Redux Kubra Dam Operation Clean Sweep (not edited yet, will do after event) Operation Road Rage Operation Smoke Screen Road to Jalalabad Songhua Stalemate Wake Island 2007 Zatar Wetlands Huge thanks to TED for providing me with a large majority of these maps to edit, you'll likely notice 2 or 3 layers made by him which are still present.

Project Reality - BF2 Event - POLL (ENDED)
=VG= Sphee replied to =VG= Sphee's topic in PR Cooperative
Knowing VG, they're going to mutiny every commander who actually tries commanding and isn't just roleplaying euro truck simulator 2005. Sounds like a nice idea though, I'll consider it properly maybe for another event. The option is always available though in every event for a commander to encourage squads to do XYZ, and actually "command". -
Project Reality - BF2 Event - POLL (ENDED)
=VG= Sphee replied to =VG= Sphee's topic in PR Cooperative
Thanks for the feedback and ideas - The reason you steamrolled that one Retro map pack event was for multiple reasons: 1. Bot respawn speed wasn't figured out yet, I just dragged and dropped the maps onto the server, only making sure they don't crash beforehand on my local/dedicated server. I've properly went out of my way to make sure bots spawn faster now, using the same script the main COOP server uses. 2. Maps were very unbalanced, often leaning heavily in favor of the player side. Like on Gulf of Oman for example, BLUFOR got 7 APCs, and on the original Zatar, you also had a large amount of assets, with strange respawn times. like a 20 minute respawn osprey, for seemingly no reason. 3. Players were good, and there was a lot of experienced players on for that event, so they (ignoring issues with bot respawn speed and assets) likely would've bulldozed the maps anyway. The biggest culprit has and will always be the respawn times though, which I've said so many times were fixed for any upcoming event, only to then figure out it wasn't. I've properly cracked down on it like I stated earlier. It'll likely be similar or more difficult than the main server's parameters. -
Project Reality - BF2 Event - POLL (ENDED)
=VG= Sphee replied to =VG= Sphee's topic in PR Cooperative
You can always just ask and I'll force every faction we play to only get pistols and the bot team to only use MG3s, would make people really appreciate kit balancing. -
End Result: Quantity of kits available remains the same, however any person can take any kit even when alone in a squad. Thank you for your input. Hello, I am planning an event that strictly runs BF2 maps, and was considering to change the kit restrictions to be more similar to how BF2 used to handle kit distribution. Obviously not to the level of having 10 LATs running around with SMAWs, but I'll still tune some kits on certain maps to be closer to the BF2 equivalent, without taking away from crucial items. If you're having trouble figuring out what I'm asking, it's basically to figure out if you wanna see in the next event things like a friendly full squad running only medic kits, or a friendly full squad of snipers running around like hooligans in CQB. And if you would like to remove the minimum squad members requirement. Note: There will likely be 1-2 kits I'll still restrict regardless of the poll outcome, although you'll still get a higher amount than what we usually have.

reserve AA pls, dunno if I'll be available, I'll take an actual useful role if I do though like sniper to sit and camp on a hill 3 km away

[Project Reality Event] Rinse, recycle, repeat (ENDED)
=VG= Sphee replied to =VG= Sphee's topic in PR Cooperative
Hopes and dreams are what these maps usually run on, as long as your hope doesn't run out in the middle of a round, we'll be fine -
Hello! Thank you for attending, feel free to leave any feedback you have, or mention any issues you saw. After some time, making great use of the period between the last event, and definitely not procrastinating I'm glad to say another event is in works and will likely be ready sometime in May, maybe even end of this month if I'm satisfied with the maps. The selection of maps remains the same, 14 or so maps, included are Mao Valley and Hills of Hamgyong (+ Zatar, all from the Retro map pack, ty Helpman). I've decided to omit Operation Nightshift and Operation Compton due to their poor performance (gameplay wise weren't fun) in the last event. I've already modified some layers with feedback from the previous event in mind, and fixed issues like my dumbass messing up factions on Zee's Sbeneh Region Std, please keep in mind this is still a PR event, and made by me of all people, so expect anomalies like flags with weird names, a lot of crashes, and many sighs. I am still editing and adding to some layers, note that layers which weren't played yet from the last event (there was quite a few) will mostly be unchanged. I've taken the liberty to make some more slightly questionable layers. Because c'mon, when do you ever get to fight an Abrams in a Panzer 4? Hosted At: VETERANS-GAMING | EVENT Download Link (CLICK HERE) Date: 25/04/2026 @ 4 PM GMT - until 27/04/2026 Password: crash If you remember any feedback you may have from the last event, please don't hesitate to tell me, I appreciate any guidance towards making non crap events.

bravo grenadier pls, if bravo SL isn't taken when you start, and I don't go afk for half of the event, I'll probably take it
-
butcher 1-1 rifleman pls, if I can make it and won't afk for 2 hours, 2 minutes after joining, I'll see if I can lead when noone takes it
-
Welcome aboard Blitz, hope to see you in-game.
-
lonestar kit pls, if anyone wants to take demolition expert please do since I'm not too sure if I can attend

Another (slightly less) lackluster PR event
=VG= Sphee replied to =VG= Sphee's topic in PR Cooperative
Thank you for attending, it's been a pleasure making these layers (except Al Sbeneh STD made by Zee that I broke), I had fun seeing what new thing I broke and hadn't caught in testing. Apologies for any issues you faced like yet again, slow bot respawn rates, and some maps of questionable quality. Please provide any feedback you have for anything relating to this event in this thread, or DM me personally about it as I'd love to hear what you think. I'll lock this post likely in around 10 days. -
This poll mostly tells me what kind of events you would be fine with, I'm obviously still gonna put attention and care into maps I'm editing and won't half-ass (probably) them like last event, now that thanks to Zeee I can somewhat use the editor to tune maps and balance them out, and even add fun surprises. Please also let me know of any feedback you have by replying in this thread with your thoughts, this helps me mark down certain issues to fix, and makes me look like I actually care about feedback.

Another (slightly less) lackluster PR event
=VG= Sphee replied to =VG= Sphee's topic in PR Cooperative
Yes, that's why I made every vehicle 1 man, and added at least 7 logi trucks on each map so that people can camp with vehicles AND tows on the hills. -
Thank you for coming! See you in the next (mediocre) one! Hello again! Here's another event of slightly less questionable quality than the last one, this time with the Singleplayer map pack generously provided by Sir.Helpman as always, however with my added twist on them, I've spent the last 10 or so days editing existing layers and gradually changing them, you'll notice some layers probably suck, those are likely the ones I made at the start of the week, but I've taken care of each layer I made, and did my best to make them fun (you have stuff to shoot) but challenging (stuff shoots at you) This event will include the maps from the last event (i.e Bijar, Archer, Jabal, Ghost Train) AND the PR Singleplayer Map Pack, which includes 13 maps! although I've decided to exclude a few as they kinda suck gameplay wise and bots get stuck on certain parts of them. To clarify, I have not touched Archer, Bijar or Jabal, only adding some extra bot spawns on Bijar alt, fixing issues with Jabal alt and adding a lower dam flag whilst moving up the original flag to the top. Thanks to @=VG= XOR, the issue with bots respawning too slowly will be rectified Hosted At: VETERANS-GAMING | Event Server Download Link (Click to download) Date: 08/02/2026 - Sunday @ 6:00 PM GMT+0 - Until midnight (or late at night) Password: crash Instructions to download the maps: Step 1: Download the files from the Download Link button Step 2: Extract the .zip into your Project Reality > mods folder, like this, that's it! I'm still too lazy to make any proper pictures, but basically don't trust any of the asset lists before loading in, I've changed 90% of the assets, and flag capture order on most layers like nightshift, all the flags except the far right are already capped by the Russians. cool pics that are unrelated to layers above Please thank @=VG= Zeee for making Al Sbeneh Region Std! Thank you X0R & TED, and whoever else I forgot to mention that helped me greatly in putting this event together, and providing me with very valuable information to map editing. Please remember that this is the first ever event I've done with my own idea of balancing layers, even though I've spent the last week and some more editing layers, trying to be careful to not make things too hard, but also give you a challenge for the asset you're playing, and still make it fun like adding a joke vehicle here and there, I'm still not a PR dev with years of experience making layers, so you'll very likely see anomalies like a vehicle not meant for you in the assets list, bots shooting beyond the view distance etc. I've tried my best to rigorously test all the layers I changed, but I'm not perfect so expect discrepancies here and there.

[Project Reality Event] Rare Case of Nostalgia
=VG= Sphee replied to =VG= Sphee's topic in PR Cooperative
Thank you all so much for attending! I'm quite satisfied with how this event turned out, obviously the amount of maps/layers could've been better as you likely would've noticed us playing the same maps for the day, and the issues with bots were very clear, but thankfully that issue was rectified although later on. I'll be planning to add more maps for the next event. and hopefully changing some of the existing ones. Thank you again Helpman for providing us with Bijar, Archer and Jabal, and Polish for providing us with Ghost Train, this event wouldn't have been possible without you, M8, Semler and Melon. -
[Project Reality Event] Rare Case of Nostalgia
=VG= Sphee replied to =VG= Sphee's topic in PR Cooperative
Date is set, everything works as intended (thank you so much Semler, M8 and Melon!), I unfortunately have to announce that Operation Archer Inf sadly does not work and will be scrapped from the event, however we do have another removed map in it's place, the (arguably) beloved and infamous Operation Ghost Train! -
Hello! You may remember the Retro Maps Event I made almost 2 years ago featuring very, VERY old maps like Gulf of Oman, Battle for Qinling, and Daqing Oilfields. This was meant to be a follow-up event with more maps from the same pack, and the difficulty of maps increased exponentially due to the increased reports of easy and unchallenging maps. However, after some deeper insight, we thought that it would be more suitable to improve the maps from the retro pack first, before hosting another event with them, and potentially giving people a lackluster experience with much to desire. So instead, I've opted to host an event consisting of a 6-12 hours rotation (potentially 24 hour event) of Bijar Canyons, Operation Archer, Jabal Al Burj and additionally Operation Ghost Train, with all their layers, except Operation Archer INF. Thank you for attending! Hosted At: VETERANS-GAMING CO-OP Event Server Download Link Date: Saturday - Starts @ 20th December 2 PM GMT - 20/12/2025 Password: beejar Additional Map: Operation Ghost Train (INF) Bijar Canyons (LRG/STD/ALT/INF) Operation Archer (STD) Jabal Al Burj (LRG/STD/ALT/INF) Thank you Sir.Helpman for providing the maps, this event wouldn't be possible without you Thank you Polish for providing the map file for Operation Ghost Train! Please keep in mind that server crashes and balancing discrepancies (some layers easy, others hard) are expected due to the layers being completely untouched over the years they were removed. I am planning in the near future to revisit these maps, make additions, change factions, and hopefully include more playable maps in later events from the Retro map pack, but only time will tell.

hello giv slot pls thanks
-
I was on at the time, I personally saw nothing wrong with this, as the mortar did pose a genuine threat to vehicles at residential and nearby, same with the quads but they were down for most of the round.
-
Operator pls, if I can attend then I'll take 2IC if noone else signs up for it

I know exactly what System is talking about because I've unfortunately seen this happening a lot lately, I think the issue is that the message of "Don't flag skip across 3 kilometers from the attackable flags to kill AA that isn't, or won't be a threat yet" isn't demonstrated clearly and sternly enough for it to be a thing that people avoid doing, I've seen some people that've wired themselves to that kind of behavior on most notably Muttrah, and it becomes their regular route. An example of a Muttrah round dumbed down would go something like: > Map starts, asset hogs spawn in > CAS flies to the fortress, kills the fortress emplacements, camps the ramp, kills all vehicles coming out with the excuse of "we're killing the emplacements, because the server allows you to flag skip to do it!" > APC and infantry take 10-15 minutes to cap docks and north, then start approaching/capping west city. > CAS (if you're lucky) goes around the attackable/defendable flags for a bit to clear them out. > CAS come back to the fortress after around 10-20 minutes of emplacements dying, to rinse and repeat, leaving no vehicles and equally no fun for other players. > They start going back and forth from the attackable flags to the fortress, and just by SOME luck, killing all the vehicles and barely any emplacements if counted. I will admit to being like this at some point a while ago, before obtaining a handful of extra braincells to not suck the fun from other players, now I just don't even join so people can have maximum fun! Personally I'll make sure to keep a keen eye on this issue and try to stop it from being practiced, because even though I do warn people for this exact move at the start of a Muttrah round, it's still somewhat common especially when there's no admins on.
