  1. Good job all!!

I can see we got a lot of creative talent here at VG. Here's looking to more expression in the future.

Even though a choice has been made, I think it is a great idea to keep this thread open and let folks continue to submit ideas and concepts.

After all it is one of the many ways folks can continue to contribute to the adventure.

Once again, Congratulations to the current winner.
  2. Great work chaps. We see you are actively forging ahead successfully. Keep it up.

Can we book some time with you chaps and discuss the issues and processes that are needed to navmesh a PR BF2 COOP map succesfully.

That way some of us can probably check our skill sets to see where we can interface and be part of the collaboration.

Till then can all the known links for Navmeshing be posted in ths thread.
  3. I think we should consider making an event of the release of these maps so as to give folks time to download them for game play.

Say after 2 or 3 maps are ready we can release them as a Map Pack and run a weekend event over Fri - Sun with the new maps in the rotation.

We used to regularly do this in the hey deys of WCC with BF1942 DC. In all we had over 30 extra maps.
  4. How about considering the specialisation of Navmeshing.

After all if more folks know how to do this, then most maps can be completed and used in short order. Including BF" stock maps.

Besides, what is the point of creating a totally different mod/mini-mod if there are still a limited number of maps on offer to play?

    Just a thought.

Are thee any tutorials on Navmeshing or can we get a few sessions with an expert like Slayer?
  5. An interesting concept... I would love to try some these ideas and a few others on a well managed Multiplayer PR server where the Commander can confidently CONTROL the army and its resources.

I think in order to get the PR devs and mod teams from other games to see new ideas, a visible shake up of the existing game play needs to be addressed. It needs to be taken to another level, Just like VG has done for COOP.

I remember early in 0.7, a lot of combined team work was done on servers like 10th Community and UKWR. It also had the direct support of some of the admins who would deal swiftly with smaktards who disrupted the campaign strategy. It was glorious to see the whole army swoop in and over run the enemy positions long before they got their kits sorted.

Ahhh... One can dream... But This may be a topic for another thread all on its own...

  6. On a well managed server like VG's the locked squad rule is a true test of good team play management.

It is very easy to either tell folks to leave or utilse them in different roles. It is important from time to time for there to be back up pilot for rescue missions of downed pilots and vehIcle crews.

Security, medical and supply personnel can be members of these Specialist squads, adding additional direct action capabilities to their combat package.

How many times has an APC been hit because there is no security team watching for AT units or traps??

Also it is antisocial and not in keeping with the spirit of how PR is to be played. New and inexperienced players need option to improve their team work and enjoy the community spirit. It may even get some of them to use TS3.

  7. (Sigh. There is just no winning. I think I will go back to being a hard ass... This is what I get for trying to reason with disruptees,,,,)

Twist it however you want. the fact of the matter is from now on you are on probation. Any more infractions will get you banned.

I hope that is now very very clear.

Unless I can verify any incident you report through others or personally, I do not trust a word you say .

I have been watching you and have let a lot of things slide with regards to your continued disruption and conduct.

You are not a team player and do not ever, in my opinion, try to support or actively work with others to improve game play.

You are rather very disruptive and a chat spammer.

I always give every player a chance to show us what they bring to the mix. All I can say is that with you there has been no bright spark or confidence in your attitude or actions.

I saw you go over a clearly MARKED mine area less than a minute after your squad mate did it, with the first Bradley, after which he was kicked.

I asked you to squad with the other armored units and combine the use of the armor you refused, preferring to spam and badger me incessantly with irrelevant info, in a one man squad, for most of the round.

The rules are clearly stated and are also followed by the many good folks that regularly visit and give us their time.

I suggest in future keep a low profile, do not disrupt others and try to be a team player.
