Jager Posted September 15, 2011 at 09:09 PM Report Share Posted September 15, 2011 at 09:09 PM So I finally ripped the last parts off the old rig and got my new one up and running, my GPU is now my weakest link.Part of me wants to flesh out for a 590GTX but that's like 900usd over here and I'm studying at the University so I'll have limited time to play on this rig.Any decent suggestions for a card or cards that will hold me 3-4 years, might even buy one now and just add the same on later on as I need more power. Jager Posted September 16, 2011 at 05:52 AM Author Report Share Posted September 16, 2011 at 05:52 AM Well a HD6990 is too loud, have been playing with the idea of watercooling the CPU & GPU but for now I will have to put those plans on hold so HD6990 is a no go.590 is the only high end option I have on my plate but still 900usd is too steep for my economy right now. =VG= SemlerPDX Posted September 16, 2011 at 06:56 PM Report Share Posted September 16, 2011 at 06:56 PM I'm loving my HD6770, and if I was to upgrade, I'd just get more of them. It alone handles ArmA at Highest vid settings and gets 45FPS in the shit. If I turn back terrain and textures just a bit, I get 75FPS steady.2 of these would only require a 750W PSU upgrade from my 600W. So, for price and crossfire ability, I'd say grab a few of these babies, or something similar. 2x HD6870's maybe?

PITN Posted October 6, 2011 at 05:14 AM Report Share Posted October 6, 2011 at 05:14 AM Prob cuz u can't. They were hard to come by for a minute until they pulled them from store shelves because they were catching on fire.IMHO stay away from any used Vid Card unless you trust the source.Choose a video card that compliments your motherboards chipset.
