Only you can prevent baserape

System

Recommended Posts

Time and time again I've seen it happen, and yet no one from the admin team except a very small, very experienced handful enforce this rule - some even go as far as to break it and then unknowingly spread it to other regular players who then repeat the same patterns of play;

7. Baserape

Baserape is the act of assaulting flags in an incorrect order. Including:

  • Skipping more than one flag as infantry
  • Skipping any flags while in an asset
  • Attacking the enemy main base before cappable/attacking uncappable main
  • Destroying enemy reinforcement routes (Bridges/Razorwire).
  • Laying mines at enemy vehicle spawns.
  • Attacking enemy supply lines or attacking beyond the current flag as CAS or other assets

Skipping 1 flag while playing infantry is allowed for strategical purposes. If no progress is being made you will be ordered to fall back. Examples include:

  • Preparing to capture during a fast paced game
  • Setting up FOBs
  • Destroying forward emplacements  (not allowed to skip beyond next capable flag to destroy emplacements)

Skipping a flag must not overrule the no camping enemy main rule
AA and AAVs are the exception to the rule, and may be destroyed at such a time they pose a threat.

On these examples specifically, Stinger AA on Muttrah does not pose a threat until East City, there is 0 reason to attack it at game start - quads don't pose a threat until South City... This is not Pavlovsk where most AA can actually see 90% of flags where ever you go, and it makes perfect sense to take them out so that trans can do its job.

Imagine every time I had the opportunity that I took a screenshot - I would have more than 50 pictures for the past 2 months alone...
Please enforce these rules, as no one wants to sit 5 minutes on empty flags just capping.
There are of course exceptions that one can clearly identify based on map terrain, flag positions, enemy reinforcement routes, map difficulty, etc. Use your brain to see and determine if something is detrimental to your team. Would it be fun if you were placed in that position?

Sometimes I like when they too engrossed with baserape & flag skipping, somehow some enemy asset manage to get passed them & capped quite some flags, yet still never bother to assist in getting back the lost flag.

Best players ever. Sad thing is that some of them do play plenty of times in VG server.

Same baserape problem all time at Kashan Desert CAS squad passing bunkers area and attack enemy vehicle hill route and mainbase we need more realistic roleplay and operation and organization in game.

That's people's issue for playing Kashan in the first place 😂

I know exactly what System is talking about because I've unfortunately seen this happening a lot lately, I think the issue is that the message of "Don't flag skip across 3 kilometers from the attackable flags to kill AA that isn't, or won't be a threat yet" isn't demonstrated clearly and sternly enough for it to be a thing that people avoid doing, I've seen some people that've wired themselves to that kind of behavior on most notably Muttrah, and it becomes their regular route. An example of a Muttrah round dumbed down would go something like:

> Map starts, asset hogs spawn in

> CAS flies to the fortress, kills the fortress emplacements, camps the ramp, kills all vehicles coming out with the excuse of "we're killing the emplacements, because the server allows you to flag skip to do it!"

> APC and infantry take 10-15 minutes to cap docks and north, then start approaching/capping west city.

> CAS (if you're lucky) goes around the attackable/defendable flags for a bit to clear them out.

> CAS come back to the fortress after around 10-20 minutes of emplacements dying, to rinse and repeat, leaving no vehicles and equally no fun for other players.

> They start going back and forth from the attackable flags to the fortress, and just by SOME luck, killing all the vehicles and barely any emplacements if counted.

I will admit to being like this at some point a while ago, before obtaining a handful of extra braincells to not suck the fun from other players, now I just don't even join so people can have maximum fun!

Personally I'll make sure to keep a keen eye on this issue and try to stop it from being practiced, because even though I do warn people for this exact move at the start of a Muttrah round, it's still somewhat common especially when there's no admins on.
