  1. Mike Force mission edited to ACE with new Vehicles and weapons added.
    This is the required mod list for the Mike Force mission and likely the Vietnam Insurgency mission when its done.

  2. In the process of adding Aircraft from the Unsung mod, trying to get them to play nice with the current mission scripts, but we may just have to rework some older scripts in to work for them.

    Next we're going to try and work in the insurgency Halo drop feature as well as vehicle rearm scripts if possible.

  3. The mission is done and running on the TBF Arma server.

    Current edit tasks:
    Rework restricted arsenal - Found the file, murdering it\ Edited, all weapons and equipment unlocked. - Done
    Adding QOI mods: Remove stamina, Remove weapon sway, CH View distance, Enhanced Movement, DUI Squad radar, Enemy Tagging system. - Done
    Rework or remove food system - have not been able to disable, but can edit and make it a passing thought. - Done
    Fiddle with FOB decay rate - Not Done

    with that being said, are there any other features people would like to see added or removed?

    Seriously though, if you don't mind my constructive criticism, random IED's in video games are often invisible or damn near and can be detrimental to playability if not used with caution by the game designer - unless you want players to drive at 5MPH everywhere.  A2 INS SOAR never had them.  There is a reason MRAP's exist and realistically one might assume that whatever army BLUFOR is part of would send stealth helicopters to an MHQ would also provide IED survivable MRAP-style vehicles when IED's are a known threat in an AO.

    The IEDs in arma are actual place able explosives and are not invisible unless scripted that way, as well as only having a handful of variations, to the point that after a week of playing you can spot them a mile away. On top of that, the DUKES on the MRAPs and hummvees do work and the MRAPS do survive IEDs depending on the size. You can also use mine sweepers that will mark IEDs as mines and the Unmanned drone from the contact DLC will detect IEDs that you can then deal with from the drone.

    RHS I believe is the mod that has the DUKE mounted vehicles however.

  5. Let's get peoples opinion on two mods we currently have on the required list: 6 x 6 All Terrain Vehicle and the Boeing/SOAR MH-47E Chinook

    So the 6x6 first,
        I've heard concerns about the usefulness of its fuel economy being rather low, and another concern being that its rather slow and defenseless. While the positives being that it can carry ALOT of shit and that it does give us a nice little 60mm mortar with WP rounds. So far, I've noticed people have started ignoring the vehicles themselves and the 60mm being used sparingly.

    Now the Boeing/SOAR MH-47E Chinook
        It's a mod that was created in ARMA 2 and worked very well there, and once Arma 3 came out, it was ported over. However, this creates issues on that it does not fully behave like similar helicopters that were created in and for Arma 3, and it will not get a rework anytime soon. We currently have another MH-47 from another mod that was created in A3 and works a bit better then this mod.

    So I'd like to get some feedback on these mods, does anyone actually use them often, or are these mods that can be trimmed from the required mod list.

    The next list we have are the optional client side mods that some of our players use, the list was made optional to help those who do not have the hard drive space to spare after the required mods.
    Most of the mods on this list are cosmetic with some sound mods with jsrs and weapons, the items will not appear to those who do not have the mods loaded, but all mods will work client side.

  7. So if its possible in some way, what about requiring the helicopter have two crates still in its inventory and requiring it be landed with in a FOB envelop? It would better then just landing on top of a tank in the field to rearm it, and would require more teamwork as well as still force assets to break contact back to a safe area to repair and rearm. As well if there is a way to limit the amount of supplies the aircraft can rearm so as to force it to RTB at some point so it cant just sit at a fob all game.

    It would make it a bit more realistic and useful for the team, and hopefully some what appease those that would have a grip about it.

  9. find yourself a digital or physical mixer. (Physical over Digital for obvious reasons)

    Golden and I both use mixers and I plug my phone into it, That allows me to pause and adjust the volume as needed.

    One thing I do is always have the volume of the music higher going into my headset then into the output, so it will always be louder for me then anyone around me, keeps me from accidentally washing people out. You can play back the output to your headset so you can check the volume yourself and then turn off the playback when your satisfied.

    Music in PR is a great thing, but as with everything, there is a time and a place for it. several of us that fly Trans or CAS always play music without causing communication issues for squads or to the pilot.

    funny enough, I also have a glitch that causes the local chat to be farther and farther back depending on the speed of the vehicle, so I always need to be landed or have them squad leader chat to me, Music or not, I cant really hear anybody from the back in flight unless I slow down... hasn't caused issues yet.

    Just play around with it until you find your groove with you being able to hear everyone and them hear you.

  10. Man, I feel your pain... Even before 1.6 people had issues with target identification...

    Out of a squad of people moving to a point, I would be the one shot by friendlies, or get lit up by skittish fuckers around a corner.

    I've taken to  !kill commanding people that have blatant issues with PID, or for people that feel like using bullets to communicate "I need a ride" is better then their words...

    Its a .22 and you can get any suppressor with a $200 federal tax stamp which are easy to get. It's the same tax stamp you would need for an automatic weapon, but this all depends on the state you live in.

    In Arizona, where I am, I can own pretty much anything from automatics to "destructive devices" and Suppressors, however, California, which is right next door, can't even own 30 round Stanags or an AR15 with a normal pistol grip....

    A Soldier got arrested for having a 30 Stanag in his car when he left fort drum in New York, so it can get a bit confusing with gun laws here if you start crossing state lines.
