FH2 SP improvements minimod + new maps

hello,

I think the FH2 server needs this minimod + new maps installed to keep the fun.

2 files to download, 5 new maps, plus more intelligent bots

beware that the bots become really smart (for example, they fire HE shells from tanks, they fire mortars at you...) that they might be kicking your ass!

this two minimods are server side that anyone with fresh FH2.26 could join the server, so no worries about people can't join!

I think the goodwood crash problem might be that when the PaK40 explode after being destroyed, a known crashbug (The dev team didn't fixed this in 2.26)

the server have to install Drawde's SP minimod that fixed the crashbugs. Or the server needs to remove the PaK 40 guns from the maps.


Another crashbug for goodwood is the PIAT crashbug, I think is also fixed by Drawde.

Have you tried disabling the AI for the PIAT? (set strength vs. all target types to 0.0). That's the other cause of the Goodwood CTD; it doesn't crop up when playing without my AI mod, as the default PIAT AI min/max range values make it nearly impossible for bots to use it. I'm going to try and fix this before the next AI mod release, but don't guarantee it (if I can't fix it soon enough, I'll just disable the PIAT AI as a temporary fix)



a list of bugfixes: (Not all)

- Modified the AI "armour class" system. Bots can now recognise static guns, unarmoured, light, medium and heavy armoured vehicles as separate target types, allowing them to select weapon types + shells more intelligently.
- Bots can now exit from or switch vehicle crew positions (e.g.: if you exit a tank with a bot hull gunner, they'll switch to the driver's seat).
- Bots can aim and fire mortars effectively at targets within visual range.
- AI maximum range for Bofors AA gun now matches the maximum range of the shells (no attempting to fire at ground targets out of range).
- Bots are more likely to use the MG34/42 Lafette gun positions.
- Bots can now fire the Nebelwerfer.
- Bots can now aim + fire the Sherman and Cromwell hull MGs.
- Bomber aircraft will now strafe infantry rather than bombing them.
- Reduced AI range of infantry anti-tank rocket weapons.
- Revised AI "StrategicStrength" priority values for all vehicle types.
- Fixed vision port shield movement on halftracks (US and German) and Kubelwagen.
- Fixed a CTD when the Pak 40 static version was destroyed.
- Fixed CTDs associated with the US Composition B explosive charge and British PIAT anti-tank launcher.
- Bots will no longer drop explosive charges at friendly CPs (bug caused by the AI C4 usage code)
- More minor tweaks to vehicle and infantry weapon AI data.

Both dman and I where on the server when it crashed on Goodwood. We had left the top left german held cap alone and capped the right top place. Worked fine, then someone that came on the server and did not know what we where doing capped the left top german cap and the server crashed.

Not sure if this helps. The maop did not crash when we played german, now that it is allied, it crashes. :)

Drawde's fix worked and many SP die-hards have reported that they see no crashings on goodwood anymore. (Goodwood is known to crash quite frequent)

Did you destroy any static PaK40? It'd crash the server.

I really hope the server apply Drawde's fixes, it at least do no harm, if not enhancing the COOP experience.

(A FH2 dev said that the goodwood fix would be in for the next patch, but not now...)
