  1. Here we go again. We've had this talk a million times. Without too many words it's effectively this right:

1.) Regulars/Admins should take charge and run various teams that communicate, strategize and not all sit in one super-team or play only heavy 1-man assets to get some kills.

2.) Heavy assets are there for support. Infantry squads are there to spearhead and capture flags. Heavy assets stay behind the lines in support of infantry.

3.) APC's are not offensive weapons but troop transports and fire-support.

4.) CAS should be waiting at the base and get called in for support not just blow everything up and clear the road so infantry simply walks from flag to flag without any engagements.

5.) Any form of base-raping / camping should be 'frowned upon' or punished.

    That's about it right?

Personally I can only see the fun in playing like that and teaching our blueberries/randoms to play like that. Practically I have been told a million times not gonna work, not gonna happen.

However in light with Double his recent suggestion for an weekly event day perhaps we can more or less volunteer and try it?

We can name it Saturday hard-core rules or something.

  2. I quite like this idea. In fact I was thinking of something similar recently where all heavy assets get a time-delay of about fifteen minutes making any tank, APC, Trans and CAS support literally support forces when the going gets tough. Imagine this on Muttrah. Infantry forces spearheading under heavy fire making their way till about Mosque and West City setting defensive perimeters, spec ops taking out fixed assets such as mortars and even the AA units. Perhaps a mortar crew providing support from Docks, and then when it's absolutely necessary CAS is finally up and provides targeted air support upon request. Trans finally delivers much needed supplies. Etc.

    *Dreams on...*

    Anyway I like the idea.

i think the main topic of the workshop is patience and know when to attack.

the reason we (ted sydney m8 me etc ) survive so long is solely based on patience and judgement.

Your command to push forward might be perfect but it can be ruined if not done at the correct moment.

However if this is kit training then I can only tell about HAT/LAT/Medic and French grenadier.

"Paint me like you paint your French grenadiers"

  4. So then we should consider a 2IC structure. I'm happy and confident to command (at least I think I'm a half-decent leader) but I don't want to let the guys down like if my wife needs her 'us time' or my dog needs to poop etc. Considering I'm not committing for a day or time this might get complicated. See what I mean?

Moreover this is so awesome I don't want to screw it up.

  5. Double. I think that's also a mental state as into how you want to play.

Me. But I'm kinda crazy, I like to take a team and do everything possible to win but also make it feel like it's unexpected I hit the flags work with what I got and absolutely don't want to know each bot spawn point or do a clean flow.

I hate those guys on Muttrah that steal a TOW just to get some kills from the docks.

I like taking risks and I like it when it gets hard and we have to all work together to solve - probably an easy trick - and then feel we won. It's a game right? The main point is making it fun. To me fun doesn't mean walking around knowing what will happen at each point. Does any of this make sense?

  6. I'm just going to be a grunt and follow orders. This all seems pretty complicated. Very awesome and cool but darn complicated. I will be available to lead squads and or be that annoying 2IC that questions every order and tries to better our overall performance. So effectively what I always endeavor to do. Go point. Hold the line. And push push push to win the game.

Apparently from 2005, which makes it 1 and 1/5 decade old.

And regarding bugs, driving abrams with full speed on khami, hit a gate and fly due to it some 100-150 meters up in air, only to land back on top of the head of some INF squad leader. His squad reaction trully priceless.

    I stand corrected.

    - Dropping a box safely from a Osprey flying maximum speed meters above T-shape rooftops.

    - Firing a SMAW rocket at a BTR60 and the thing only starts to sparkle like a gay vampire

    - Being deployed to the same warzones even though we secured them a million times each

    - But the best one: Playing a decade old mod made by people in their free time out of passion and still having more fun than in a AAA shooter made by companies with million dollar budgets and professional developers

I like how this thread is derailing :D

I am loving this post! But isn’t it two decades?

  9. I don’t mean to be rude but all of our admins are required to be on TeamSpeak when they are online and ‘available’. If you have problems on our servers that’s the best way to speak to us.

This website is more back-office stuff. Talk about things or something. Not to vent an immediate problem.

    So please.

If the maps are wrong or if you have some assholes on the server you really should download and install TeamSpeak and talk to us immediately.

We will always try to resolve it ASAP!

    I hope that makes sense.
