Terremer Posted December 3, 2011 at 12:23 AM Report Share Posted December 3, 2011 at 12:23 AM im pretty sure mumble overlay kicks in PR, so id assume TS overlay would as well, haven't tried though. you'll start to learn people after playing with them a while though, dont worry about it
Spectre_ATA Posted December 3, 2011 at 12:44 AM Author Report Share Posted December 3, 2011 at 12:44 AM what exactly is mumble ? Is that the Voice over IP advice or is it something else like TS3 ?
suomikeizari Posted December 3, 2011 at 12:59 AM Report Share Posted December 3, 2011 at 12:59 AM its a kinda voice over program, it makes possible for ''speaking'' on the server, meaning that if you speak on mumble the sound will gradually lower while moving away from you, just like in real life! Spectre_ATA Posted December 3, 2011 at 01:30 AM Author Report Share Posted December 3, 2011 at 01:30 AM ok. I have to run that at the same time as the game ?Will it affect TS3 ?
Terremer Posted December 3, 2011 at 01:38 AM Report Share Posted December 3, 2011 at 01:38 AM yeah what he said, its used heavily in online PR (Deployment) and its really awesome. we dont really use on coop though, its not as necessary since most people are in ts anywayswe dont use on coop server because 1) i dont think you can make an empty mumble channel for PR, theres channels for the main online servers though and 2) most people dont use it on coop and most people are all in TS anyways
=VG= CCCode Posted December 5, 2011 at 12:02 AM Report Share Posted December 5, 2011 at 12:02 AM Basically what Terremer and Soumi said. It is a VOIP program much like TS3, but it has positional audio meaning it's like talking IRL. The latest version of PRMumble also allows players to speak to certain SLs or the commander without positional audio so it's like talking to the SL/Cmdr over TS3.It's good in Deployment, but in Coop i don't think we'll need it when we have TS3.If you want to know even more about mumble you can ask on the PR forum. Spectre_ATA Posted December 5, 2011 at 12:11 AM Author Report Share Posted December 5, 2011 at 12:11 AM thanks everyone.I think I'll try to get a new Headset so my VOIP will work.Still doesn't help my voice identification problem but oh well....I'll just have to hang arround TS and not be playing at the same time so I can see who is speaking and what he sounds like ;)
=VG= SavageCDN (Inactive Duty) Posted December 5, 2011 at 02:23 PM Report Share Posted December 5, 2011 at 02:23 PM Don't worry too much about it.. just ask 'who was that' if you're not sure... it will take a few weeks to get used to everyone's voice
