=VG= BLuDKLoT Posted May 9, 2011 at 08:22 PM Report Share Posted May 9, 2011 at 08:22 PM Hey guys, I want to put a XP Partition on my new win7 install. I've never done this before and could use a life line in case I pork something. Has anyone tried this and what do you recommend? Thanks.
=VG= SavageCDN (Inactive Duty) Posted May 9, 2011 at 09:03 PM Report Share Posted May 9, 2011 at 09:03 PM I have not tried it myself but if you install XP after Win7, XP will break the Win7 boot loader. You will need to have a Win7 CD/DVD handy and do a repair after installing XP.From what I have read the best way is to install XP first, then 7 but if you've already got 7 installed then this is not an option. Anyone else tried this before?

=VG= BLuDKLoT Posted May 9, 2011 at 11:55 PM Author Report Share Posted May 9, 2011 at 11:55 PM ok, so my XP CD Key doesn't work anymore, so I called Microsoft and they're sending me a new copy of XP Pro.Basically, the process requires XP be installed first, like you mentioned, then Win7 after that.I'm not going to reinstall all my stuff just yet, but I did get Combined Ops Installed so I can play something!I have like 20 games I can't play with 7, so this is kind of exciting. Hope it all works out as planned. Woot!
