  1. Well, no. The advice given did not resolve the problem but did help in providing a solution. I logged on with my sons computer and all was good. I am no longer interested is resolving the problem with my current PC as I am convinced that it's a piece of shit and needs replacing! LOL Thanks for your help in justifying my capital expense in procuring anew PC, :)
  2. Na, did all that! I'm getting either kicked by PB for packet loss or loss of connection with the server.
  3. Of late I have been experiencing a significant increase in PB kicks. Other servers, even those with au stank ally higher pings are fine. I also seem to get a high number of disconnects as well. Ideas anyone of what the problem may be? I've updated PB re-installed it too, knish in case. No change.
  4. BLuDKLoT =VG= LAN_WROTE ... We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for shit birds! Tell us who they are and we will get rid of them. However, let's make sure we have proof of some sort whether it's witnesses, pics, vid, etc.. Hey Blud, this is where the problem sits. Getting that bit of proof is difficult when its not a single act but rather the continued and repeated fracture of rules as apposed to breaking them. As I said in my post, the player(s) in question know the rules and push them to the point of breaking but rarely snap it but I am trying to gather the proof needed to put that final nail in the coffin.
  5. Ever played with someone who doesn't do the right thing but rarely so wrong that you start a kick vote? Or maybe it was bad enough for a kick vote but the player doing the wrong thing has mates of similar character that keep the vote from reaching the goal? Of late, I have been experiencing a rise in this type of situation. A hand full of players who walk up to the line, put one foot over it, repeatedly, but are smart enough not to cross it. It makes me feel like I am being played! The prick knows how to just push enough buttons to piss me off but doesn't give me enough ammo to have the little shit banned! This is a problem for the admins of our servers. They receive complaints, over and over again but never enough evidence to ban the player and make it stick. I for one feel that the body of evidence, the volume of complaints, should be enough to discipline a player who regularly and continually does the wrong thing. The question is, how large does the body of evidence has to be before action came be taken. 5 complaints, 10, 20, 50? 5 in one week, 50 in a month? For me the answer is simple. It happens to me the other day chatting with an admin on TS. I was complaining about a player and the response I got was, "I am so sick of hearing that name." For me, if an admin has heard so many complaints about a player that they are sick of hearing the name it's cause to act and ban the asshole! No appeal, No recourse! I trust the admins here at VG. I can't see myself questioning a decision they make with respect to purging servers of players who just don't do the right thing over and over again.
  6. Thanks for the advice guys! I'm off to the computer store to see how this prices up here in Australia.
  7. I play PR exclusively and intend to start playing PR version of ARMA. This means a new PC is in order and I would like some help with it's specification. If some of you would be so kind to suggest CPU, MB, video card(s). Budget is a bit of concern but I am looking for a system that will standup for a few years before needing upgrades without going over the top. Say $2k just for the box. Thanks
  8. SemlerPDX =VG= LAN_WROTE ... You can say so much more with a picture, and you'd have no problem continuing to play, not worrying about remembering some dicks stupid ass name. We'll clear it up asap! I have tried this "screen shot" in the past and I can't seem to get it to work. It is my understanding that it is a simple thing of pressing "print screen" but it just doesn't seem to work on my PC Any advice would be great!
  9. We have a password for TS. Why not introduce a password for the server? Create a page on the forums where the user has to read and agree to some basic rules before being given the password. In this way you know the users are aware of e rules and the punishment for doing the wrong thing. Increase the degree of punishment eg switches idea and I would expect the overall game play in the server would improve while keeping the fools out. Advise people of the password in the training server directing them to the forum. It may also be wise to advise people in the coop server for a period of say a month that the password is coming! Thoughts?
  10. WHAT? There are games other than PR! LOL
  11. The issue for me is the result of the time of day. I live in Australia and as such, my play opportunities are more often when most VG admins are asleep. I'm happy to put my hand up to help patrol the server during those times. The question at hand is if the clan is happy to have me performing this task. I can assure you that I am not Interested in anything other than improving game play during those hours when other admins are sleeping. I'm convinced that the presence of what is perceived as an admin in game will help to resolve the issue. I'm happy to take on the responsibility even if access to admin resources are none existent. I believe any VG plYer familiar with me would attest to the fact that I have the integrity and maturity to fulfill such a role.
  12. It's been my experience that it is not noobs doing the wrong thing. Yes they are unsure of how PR differs from BF and is expected. Noobs pull there heads in quickly when told what they are doing wrong. I'm talking about seasoned players who know what they are doing is wrong. It happens when admins are missing from the battle field. I was prompted to make this post after my second map last night when after the last flag two squads just started TKing. In the next game I joined one of these squads only to learn that they all were aware of the rules. Melon joined the server and they all cautioned each other about their behavior. The presence of admins in game solve the issue!
  13. The server needs more in game admins! The quality of game play has degraded to BF2 public server quality. A greater presence of admins is needed!
