=VG= poffadder (Inactive Duty) Posted March 27, 2011 at 12:38 PM Report Share Posted March 27, 2011 at 12:38 PM Well it seems a Project reality mod for BF3 is going to be unlikly since Dice is not releasing mod tools with the games release. They claim this is due to the Frostbite engine being too complicated and that they want to develope a good core game before they move onto mod tools and DLC. So while the possibility of a PR BF3 is looks bleak there is still a chance for it as Dice said they are still considering the release of mod tools a few months after release but again they state that they will not deliver mod tools in the way that they delivered them for Battlefield 2.Resource
=VG= CCCode Posted March 27, 2011 at 12:56 PM Report Share Posted March 27, 2011 at 12:56 PM The PR devs wont make a PR BF3 anyway, they're busy with PR:V, PR:BF2 and PR:AA2.. They've said it themselves

=VG= CCCode Posted March 27, 2011 at 01:23 PM Report Share Posted March 27, 2011 at 01:23 PM Well, if they release modding tools for BF3, nothing can stop us from making it more PR-ish

=VG= CCCode Posted September 6, 2011 at 02:23 PM Report Share Posted September 6, 2011 at 02:23 PM The thing with Crytek's CryEngine is that it's so easy to work with. Crytek has worked their asses off to give FarCry (1), Crysis, Crysis Wars and Crysis 2 full modding support. Also, CryEngine 3 is 100% realtime, you don't have to bake shadows, indirect lighting, ambient occlusion and all that.. Also, DICE made the Frostbite 2 engine in a way THEY can work easily with it.Modding support for BF3:

=VG= Solar Posted September 7, 2011 at 01:45 AM Report Share Posted September 7, 2011 at 01:45 AM Even from a business stand point, not releasing mod tools is a major set back for their game.Bf2 was a good game, but lets be honest... The reason it's still alive today is because of the excellet mod support it had. Had BF2 not had any mod support it would have died years ago. It's a fun game, but theres only so much nade spam you can tollerate...Dice wont release mod tools for bf3? Cool, I'll go play something else when BF3 gets boring then, rather than a mod of BF3 ;)

Why is it still around, well because in it's own right it is a fantastic game, sure it has some flaws that players abuse but what game out there doesn't? -WCC-B0zZz3 Posted September 7, 2011 at 05:40 PM Report Share Posted September 7, 2011 at 05:40 PM BF3 is a arcade game, just take it for what it is. If you look for the PR experience buy a game like ARMA 3... Worst you can do is walking around hoping for the PR devs to do something good, just see what they have done with the COOP.
