Guest Guest Chaz Posted February 7, 2011 at 06:00 PM Guest Report Share Posted February 7, 2011 at 06:00 PM I just learned of this game recently. Basically, it's the movie Red Dawn brought to modern PC gaming. If anything, I'll get it for the storyline, but it looks promising for multiplayer as well:The multiplayer component of Homefront is focused on large-scale vehicle based combat reminiscent of Kaos' first title, Frontlines: Fuel of War. The defining innovation of Homefront MP is its battle points system, which is an in-game currency that allows player to purchase weapons, gear and vehicles. Players earn points by taking objectives and getting kills and are forced to choose between many small purchases versus larger big ticket items like helicopters and tanks. It has been confirmed that the multi-player will support up to 32 players in one match, with 16 players on each team.Official websiteSTEAM link $49.99 || 15 MARCH, 2011[yt=640,385]56hvLvk48mM[/yt]
Guest Guest DTRON Posted February 7, 2011 at 06:52 PM Guest Report Share Posted February 7, 2011 at 06:52 PM Kaos studios are remnants of the guys that worked on the Desert Combat mod for BF1942. They were then hired to work on BF2 and fired before launch. Anyone respecting the BF series should know these guys.*Kaos studios was formed by the core members of Trauma studios (DC)
Guest Guest Chaz Posted February 17, 2011 at 03:58 PM Guest Report Share Posted February 17, 2011 at 03:58 PM Homefront's PC version has been outsourced to Digital Extremes, a Canadian developer responsible for numerous Unreal Tournament games and Bioshock ports. Frank Delise, the executive producer of the PC version has stated that the PC version of the game will feature exclusive content and dedicated servers. Additional exclusive features include clan support, DirectX 11 graphics, and first person vehicle cockpits. It has also been confirmed that Homefront will be released on Steam. Also, spectator mode and demorecording will be included along with a dedicated server executable, server tools and RCON.Read more: http://pc.gamezone.com/editorials/item/homefront_interview_pc_gamers_wont_be_left_behind/ and http://www.computerandvideogames.com/260160/news/pc-homefront-gets-dedicated-servers-exclusive-content/

Guest Guest Chaz Posted March 18, 2011 at 04:10 PM Guest Report Share Posted March 18, 2011 at 04:10 PM Outlanders LAN_WROTE ...@Chaz, what do you think of Homefront, do you like it?It's not a "Battlefield-killer", but it is still fun and unique. It offers a fresh plot/premise and set of new weapons and gadgets. The weapon upgrade menu is different as you have to earn battlepoints to use vehicles, UAVs, mortar strikes, etc. They are not 'always' available, minimizing vehicle whoring and promoting more gun fights. Some multiplayer I captured yesterday

Magnum50 Posted March 20, 2011 at 01:00 PM Report Share Posted March 20, 2011 at 01:00 PM The biggest problems with MP... IMO... is the "spawn in anywhere", 3 out of 5 times I'll spawn in next to an enemy only to be shot almost immediately. Then theirs the fact that due to getting points for kills to buy more equiptment... half the players, both friend and foe, rather run to a camping/sniper spot instead of capturing objectives, and then finally... due to the point system then buy all those cool toys, by half time of the game almost everyone has some form of advance air weapon like a helicopter, hellfire missile or whatever... so moving out in the open is impossible... so the only ones that lose are the ones who try and capture objectives or play the game.I usually leave in disgust... thou the potential for the game is/was there.again IMO.
