I think they care more about fucking us in the USA before they worry about Outlanders, not our 0utlanders, but you know what I mean. People like you der hey up der in Canada hey, you'll be last. It will be sites like ours that get shut down first so all the big boys don't have any more competition. Makes me sick to be an American to see shit like this happening in my very own country. It's making me militant where are my pills......

basically they can shut down sites for posting audio/video, including game pics, vids, etc.. then sue the owners for everything they own so they only place people can go to get their info is directly from the source itself like EA, Sony, etc.. all the major retailers benefit greatly from this. Even tho EA and others say they're against SOPA, they're members of the ESA so they're trying to trick us into believing they don't support it, but really they do..or so it would seem. I'm still reading about it myself but it's like Kryptonite for gaming sites, communities, etc.

Maybe someone else can add more to this?

It's scary is what it is

"SOPA and PIPA are the effective equivalent of blowing up every road, bridge, and tunnel in New York to keep people from getting to one DVD bootleg stand in Union Square ? but leaving the stand itself alone."

"Because US copyright holders generally can't drag a foreign web site into US courts to get them to stop stealing and distributing their work, SOPA allows them to go after the ISPs, ad networks, and payment processors that are in the United States. It is a law borne of the blind logic of revenge: the movie studios can't punish the real pirates, so they are attacking the network instead."

The best part is their solution is to 'poison' or change the DNS entries for websites that are 'infringing'. Cute.. but anyone with any IT knowledge knows that the DNS name is just a friendly way of punching in an IP address to access the website. So for example if VG gets tagged as an infringing website and it's DNS entries are removed or re-directed one can simply enter the IP address to access the website.

VG's IP is:

184.173.1.201

If you copy/paste that into your browser it will take you to the VG website. YOU ARE NOW CONSIDERED A HACKER AND A COMMUNIST ANTI-PATRIOTIC CRIMINAL!!!

This happens if an other country doesn't follow the us law: http://torrentfreak.com/us-threatened-to-blacklist-spain-for-not-implementing-site-blocking-law-120105/

And I thought Obama was finally able to restore the relationships between the US and the rest of the world...

Btw, I think Germany already has a similar law for some years now and I heard sites were sued for multiple thousend dollars because of the picture a forum member used as avatar.
