    So if i understand right, you start a local coop game and only neutral flags are shown but not captured one right? You had also problems with the Squadleader Bug? Can you keep an eye of this, if you get one day the SL Bug with your alterations?

    I almost always have the missing flag thing. after 2-3 rounds or if i was on the desktop in the following map. After giving the rights to read and write for everyone in the pr-folder today, I was able to play three maps without this error. Let's see what a long-term test says .... I noticed that pr ttakes after a few games 2.5 gb in the main memory. that always goes up and down a bit ... but then comes the point where it goes above 2.5 gb and then sometime comes the "memory.dll" error. I think windows adressed memory that pr can not respond. you would have to see if there is a 3. party memory management for windows where you can limit the memory usage of programs ...eventually that can help...

    I only get the disappearing flags after I play about three to five maps with always running PR as Admin and never cleaning my cache, buuuuuut, The other thing I usually get after playing three or five maps is a crash... some overflow shit if I remember correctly, not sure if that would be related to it. Gotta be a VooDoo witch doctor to figure PR problems out sometimes. Speaking of which, if you'll excuse me, I need to sacrifice a chicken to the PR gods so I can play today.

    I have been experiencing flags missing when opening a map in the game PR Coop since a long time ago, neutral flags are there but not others (bad for squad leaders). And then i have been told that i should clear shaders, so i did but it takes one or two rounds and the problem is back again. I'm posting this because i finaly found how to solve this by editing Project Reality folder security in windows and give all acces rights to all users found for that folder and sub folders (i'm the only one using my PC). I also edited the shorcut to run the game with administrave rights (Elevation). I have tested in many maps and rounds before i do this and after i did, and the result is impressive: No missing flags anymore and i dont need to clear the shaders cash anymore. Seems like the game just could not clear it's cashs every round start. I would like to hear if i'm doing right or not.

    Any idea how to move controller setting to 4.34 or do I need to do it all again. I tries transferring profile from 4.33 to 4.34 , but gets all messed up. Back from a year out and the day I come back there is an update..

      I got an Arduino kit myself, them botch standard buttons always do my head in, really uncomfortable to press xD

      The wiring on the arduino's is always a mess but yours looks shit hot, well done mate!

    It looks like a bad texture load. It probaly was read incorrectly from your hard drive. Is it overheating? Check it's SMART status. If there is evidince of failure the sooner you back it up the less data loss you will experience.

    Seems very straight forward since 4.33 can remain. Nothing needs to be done with that. 433 and 434 can be chosen to run as required. Small think but the variety of KF-16 seems reduced to just 1. Cobbled together a modified campaign based on the old one. Not the final.

    Default 4.34 Rolling fire is now running. 120TH set non HQ Also 35th & 80th at Kunsan, 36th Osan. This is just temporary but with the inevitable 4.34 visitors connecting its better to have something. Discussions will be had with the intent of re instating the customized Rolling fire or perhaps one of the new KTO campaigns. There will be server downtime but ought to be brief.
  19. Airbases, Datalink changes, IFF and more. Airbase operations An expected update, airbases now have dedicated ground, tower, and arrival/departure frequencies and menus. Airbases now handle traffic differently, both on the ground and in the air. Airbase ground control will issue better taxi instructions, and will hand you off to the tower frequency when you reach the runway. This is all handled automatically through the briefing process, using the data cartridge to assign each frequency to a predetermined preset, which you can view in the briefing window in brackets. From the manual: "#2, #3, #4 for communicating with the home airbase as you fly out #5, #6 for communicating in flight on the tactical net with AWACS for instance (with #13 if doing an AAR) #4, #3, #2 for communicating with the home airbase ATC upon your return." In addition to the chocks holding the aircraft in place, there is also an EPU ground safety pin that must be pulled before takeoff in the ground control menu. Once you take off, you will be handed off to the departure frequency where you inform them of your flights airborne status and receive departure instructions. Engine temperatures The engine starting procedure can now fail due to pilot error. Moving the throttle out off the cutoff position will cause a hot start condition with engine temperatures exceeding ~700C, requiring the engine to be shut off and allowed to cool. To cool off the engine, you can return the throttle below idle cutoff and leave the JFS running. There is also a chance that this may happen randomly, so you need to keep an eye on engine temperatures during startup. The JFS can run for 4 minutes before overheating and 8 minutes before failing. It can now be recharged by the ground crew. Engine Oil Engine oil pressure can fail to rise high enough to run the engine. If the HYD/OIL stays illuminated and the oil pressure stays below 15 psi then the engine must be shut down and allowed to cool before attempting to restart. IFF has now been added IFF is meant to determine friendly or bogey status, and has two separate parts: an interrogator that asks for IFF codes from airborne contacts, and a transponder that responds to requests from other aircraft. TL;DR Leave the knob on Norm when in flight. IFF requests are made using TMS Left when the FCR is selected. You can change mode requests on the left side of the FCR near the bottom. Options are M1, M2, M3, M4 and M+ (which requests all 4). The most useful mode will be M4. Correct responses will be green circles, incorrect responses will be yellow squares. Incorrect responses do not mean that a contact is an enemy. IFF codes will change over time. Your transponder will take care of this on its own, but to make sure you interrogate for the latest codes make sure you go to the INTG page in the DED (LIST -> RCL) and hit 9 so that the DCPL in the bottom right changes to ALL. This will couple the interrogator to your transponder. Manual time for nerds: M1 is assigned to a team. All the allies share the same code, which is changed every hour as stated in the TIME events. M2 is specific to each aircraft. All aircraft have a different M2 code, which does not change. M3 is specific to each aircraft as well but (unlike M2) rotates every hour. M4 is always assigned per team and the encryption key rotates every 24 hours. If a contact responds to interrogation correctly then a green circle with the requested mode will appear in the contacts location on the FCR and HSD. The contact does not have to be visible on radar to respond. Note that some modes listed above are per team, and others are per aircraft. A contact that you interrogate will not respond correctly to M2 or M3 requests unless you tell your interrogator to look for the response from that specific aircraft. This means that a friendly aircraft might respond to M1 and M4 requests correctly, but not M2 or M3. IFF codes change over time, you can see the full details in your briefing screen, but long story short is you don't have to worry about it: Luckily you do not have to manually input all these settings in the jet; your DTC is pre-programmed with all the briefed settings. Therefore if you do not change any IFF settings manually, the time and position criteria will be defined as per the brief and the IFF settings will change accordingly. All you have to do is turn the IFF MASTER knob to STBY at ramp and turn it to NORM upon taking off. Datalink changes mean scrubs need to git gud The -34 includes the following line in section 1.5.2: Note: IDM operates over VHF or UHF radio, so you cannot transmit on VHF or UHF and send/receive data link transmissions over the same radio at the same time. This means that you cannot rely on the continuous datalink mode available on the FCR page to do everything for you if you want to use the radio, and you will have to request datalink info manually with Comms Left. The manual says: Once powered up, LIST → ENTR will select the A-G DL page. There are now 4 selectable options on this page: COMM (UHF/VHF): this option toggles which radio A-G datalink messages will be transmitted over. Note: everyone must be on the same frequency, whichever radio is used. By default VHF is used for A-G datalink, with UHF used for A-A (INTRAFLIGHT) datalink messages. This can be toggled by moving the * * asterisks around VHF/UHF using the DCS switch and pressing a number key 1-9 on the ICP. Note: while humans can use any radio/frequency, AI are always on UHF TACTICAL (UHF PRESET 6 by default). More to come.

  21. DIY Wireless TrackClip Pro
    Haven't had time to spend on this project for awhile....  Been trying to find batteries that will power these 3 LED's, and previous tests required at least 4x 1.5V AAA Batteries which is way too large for a battery pack that will sit velcro'd to my headphones.

    I just found some rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries with 3.7 Volts each in a "AAA" form-factor.  These things are great!  I tried running a single battery, but the LED's didn't illuminate in any noticeable way so I had to wire a second battery in serial, and they light up just fine.  They are 350mAh each, which is less than half the capacity of a standard rechargeable Li-ion AAA battery, but the trade-off for a higher voltage in such a small size is exactly what I need for this project.

    I left this thing plugged in overnight and it was off in the morning, I guess I'll time it to see how long it lasts.  Next step will be to rig a recharging circuit with a micro-A USB female plug-in for easy re-charging, and then cram it all in a small black box with a velcro strap to easily attach to my headset.  To start, I'm not going to cut the TrackClip Pro wire, and I'll leave the female USB connector shown below on the battery pack.  I may shorten the TrackClip wire near the end of this project, at least to remove the heavy USB pass-through dongle hanging off it.

    We'll see where this goes, I've never done anything like this before so it's a small challenge.

      Next parts are on order now --  if I ramp up the voltage from one single 3.7V battery, I can achieve 5V @ 1A for the 3 LED's on the TrackClip, and should retain a duration of more than 4 hours (overly hopeful estimate).  I'll need to do some testing, if I have to, I'll use the second 3.7V battery like in the image above just for longer time between charges.  Conversely, the new parts I ordered come in a 3 pack, so I could use one battery, and make up 3 separate powerpacks, and could have pre-charged ones sitting in reserve in the event one cuts out during use.  This would allow me to retain the very tiny form-factor which is one of my goals.

      I suppose I should note those goals moving forward:

      1. Tiny form-factor, less than 5cm long, less than 2.5cm wide & tall
      2. Can power TrackClip for between 4-8 hours continuously
      3. Tiny on-off slider switch
      4. Rechargeable via micro-A USB female plugin
      5. Output to TrackClip via USB (type A) female outlet plug (as in picture above)
      6. Encased in semi-rigid form like shrink wrap, adapted plastic case, or custom 3D printed plastic case
      7. Velcro strap to easily mount on headphones
      8. Total cost for one single powerpack unit less than $10 USD


      These will arrive in about a week for $8 USD includes 3x charging boards with protection, 3x voltage step up circuits (variable with potentiometer 2-24V in to 5-28V out) and 5x 3.7V 18650 Battery holders (though I'll still be using the much smaller AAA style 3.7V batteries and holders shown above):

    who of you dealing with video editing is perhaps interested in this: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/de/products/davinciresolve/ so far, resolve has been known for its color-editing capabilities. in the newest version there is "a bit" more. a pretty good mediabrowser, a cutting-editor that I like much more than the premiere-editor, an effects area that looks powerful like aftereffects, the well-known color editor, a audio-engine and a very simple to use render-area. the new version (16beta/no trial or timebomb) is FREE! there is a pro version for 350 €. Features such as dcp rendering (cinema), 4k editing, tracking are not included in the free version. but for normal cut, effects, color correction and rendering it should be enough. the audio section is quite powerful and you can even use vst plugins. I like this program because it has everything under one surface and you do not need like adobe 4-5 programs which also cost all the multiple of this pro-version.
