I hear what you're saying Cobalt. I just wanted to have some guidelines to point to rather than someone thinking I've got some kind of Bonaparte complex. Whether they listen or not is entirely another matter, but at least we'll all be singing the same tune when it comes to the rules.

Is there an SOP for the server listed somewhere? If not, could we put one together? I've noticed guys who log in, join a flight without asking and aren't on comms and/or don't reply to shift-T text queries. I'm always down to fly with guys, but those who "commandeer" a flight without so much as asking or worse, not communicating, are becoming more frequent. I had two such instances this weekend, one of whom crashed the my AI F-16 wingman at take off and then asked me if I wanted to dogfight. I'm not sure he was a griefer, but it would be nice to point out to these guys that we do have an SOP for joining a flight.

Tril and I ran one after you left and this time, used the azimuth attack function. In one attack, got 49 kills/damages from my ship alone. JSOWS are death for static convoys! -

Last night, there was no red south of the DMZ, or hardly any combat units visible anywhere on the map and next to nothing regarding enemy air. Nuke reactors and war plants up through PY were also mostly at zero. I flew two missions to PY and no SAMS had tracking radars. Maybe NK is making a comeback what with the Olympics and all. Good to hear as I can go back at them later today!

Very nice. I have Track IR already, but Trackhat is a great alternative for those who don't...much cheaper and as good if not better from what I hear.

Another issue with other theatres, particularly the Balkans (which I think is the prettiest btw), is long flight times, which players may/may not want to endure in a live campaign, especially after some of the frontline units are attritted and flights become even longer to targets. Offline, one can easily 4x over the Adriatic, but not so during online campaigns.

Cobalt, I noticed last night that roughly 1/2 of the combat squadrons were set to human control last night. If I understand the campaign correctly, these squadrons were not fragging sorties, which makes it pretty hard for the allies to win.

Regarding HOTAS setups, I had a CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle/Pro Pedals set up for years. However, I had my eye on the Warthog, but shied away at the price. I caught a sale on Amazon for $339 and couldn't resist. OMG, what a difference! I used to have trouble air to air refueling (still not easy), but the first time I flew with the Warthog I connected and got a full load the first time! If you find out you love BMS, save your money and get the Warthog, I promise you won't regret it!

We saw Sandstorm for a brief time today. Do you guys ever get in the VG BMS room to form up before jumping in the sim? Trilogy and I have been doing that. We typically start flying around 19:30 GMT time (2:30pm EST). Vodka, BMS is a the epitome of a study sim, which means you have to study it to even begin to have a clue. I've ready/studied the manual, the training manual, the -1 and -34 sub manuals, which are probably close to 700-1000 pages of reading! Some people have the time and like to figure complex stuff out, others like to jump in and play. Not saying either is right, but you simply can't do the latter in BMS.

I haven't seen a lot of activity from VG players, but my buddy Trilogy and I have been playing on the VG server the last day or two and plan on sticking around for more. We normally play anytime from 2:30pm EST to 10:00pm EST almost daily and would love to turn our 2 ship into a 4 ship. We'll meet you in the VG TS to form up.

Went to fly yesterday and put up a mission, only to see it disappear before I could enter it. Put up another and went to enter and got dumped back to the debrief screen. Tried one more time and same thing. Buddy of mine flying with me had same thing happen as me.
