PR likely are not belong to one of them :P (my view)

 

Hipfire: Always spread while moving, stop-by and even while crouching/proning

Aiming Down Sights: Also spread, but while moving. Fires only spreads a little when crouching/proning

 

And more importantly, No Crosshairs-! (Tactical Shooter as always as it should be like)

mine too. Battlefield 1942-2148 is probably the closest but also far away.
everything listed above is more about being a shooter and having quick action ...

that's why I'm at pr. Arma and squad are similar but bf, cs, cod are not very tactical ... rainbow siege I do not know, just an older one. there you could do something tactical with the right players but no comparison to pr.

Battlefield Play 4 Free is the closest game I've seen beside the original BF2., visually that is. It used the same game engine apparently.

Close in that the buildings and maps were virtually the same, Oman, Karkand, Dragon Valley, etc. It came out in 2011 and was shutdown in 2015. More like a PvP version with 16 v 16 a side. It was fast, intense and very addictive. I was playing this game for about 3 years until it shutdown and I then discovered PR.  Before hand I tried Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3 & 4, and none of them had the same sense of fun or rush of adrenaline. In BFP4F it was possible to shoot the pilot from the Helicopter and steal it from the other side...No TKs were possible because that was turned off, each Soldier class had cool features to their kits, Engineers were the RPG, land mine and C4 specialists, Medics had MGs, awesome Defibrillators to revive team mates, (and if you got too close killed enemy), The Snipers had a huge range of rifles to choose from with special attachments, that you had to earn training points for, they also had satellite, clay-mores, bullet-drop and super long range scopes that made them a real menace. The sniper in PR is nerfed by comparison in my opinion.

The 4th class was the Assault grunt who had access to a large range of assault rifles and carried extra ammo. Every class could parachute off buildings out of jets etc, you didn't need a pilot kit, although you could get one from the store, unfortunately you looked like a dickhead running around with a white helmut if you ended up grounded.

If the devs of PR ever need some inspiration on how to modify a game so its fun just take a look at the mechanics of this game, it was awesome and had a huge following globally.

When I got to PR this mod was a whole different thing, virtually had to start from scratch and learn about real team work.

This is actually something I'd like to see in PR. I know it's not going to happen but it'd be awesome to commando in and steal enemy vehicles, choppers etc. 

Actually you used to be able to steal certain APC's and even a Shilka but these features were removed - why I am not sure. But I remember doing a run with a few guys and create a MECH sqd with OPFOR BTR's. Very cool because you had to worry about BLUFOR and OPFOR but we did good I think. Years ago... #NOSTALGIA

On the few maps the assets where neutral people simply rushed to the spawn locations and grabbed the assets.

an example of this is vadso where humans are supposed to go to the airfield but instaid they went to the enemy main to grab the BTR’s this breaks the game logic that you simply steal the assets. 

 

Currently their is one map with broken assets and that is iron ridge where technically you could steal the BMP-1 and the technicals as they spawn neutral.

however doing this is breaking the rules and this (stealing/glitching) is a bannable offence without warning “quoted melon”

Oh yeah, in that case it breaks the game logic and obviously ruins the game. I meant more like you can capture a flag and as a trofee you can get a enemy technical or BTR or the likes or if you shoot out the driver of a technical and then you can use it. This would only make sense on INF maps I think. But like I said, not going to happen and probably for good reasons.

from a development standpoint this is possible and actually no challenge to make (actual bf2 feature). 

Their is only one map that has this reward function and it is on kozalsk alt where the tank is linked to the bunker flag and only spawns if the bunker is capped. 

 

I do not think the devs are going to add this reward funtion to coop as it has to be playable in singleplayer aswell.

 

I am currently working on making a event khami version where the humans get no heavy assets at start until they capture certain keyflags. This to movivate the coordination between INF and armour.

 

If you interessted in making your own maps or asset layouts its not really hard it just takes time. and reading. xD

Oef I'd like to see that in more maps. It'd be so great if you start off with only infantry and as you progress the map you will get more and stronger assets. I can think of a bunch of maps that could work that way. 

Boat in on Vadso, capture first flag you get APC's capture second flag you get choppers etc. Or something like that. 

But like I said not going to happen because that's probably only interesting for an elite group of veteran players. Not your random blueberries who downloaded the game two weeks ago. They just wanna blow shit up.

well jersans you have to make it yourself xD its not hard like i said.

maybe we should give classes on how to modify PR for people who are interested. (ted loves the editor xD and could teach people the ways xD)

Sorry Double, I'm a moron with this stuff. As you very well know. But what is possible is to see if there can be like a test server or something where people who do know how to make maps can upload them and we can make like a amateur event thingy or something. I know we tested some of Fastjack his maps a while ago that was good fun. But then again only about 10 or so people showed up. So probably not worth the effort.

well the test of fastjacks maps was suddenly and we only managed to get the people on that where on at that time.

 

I think in the next weeks orso  fastjack might be ready for another coop ins test event but thats up for him to decide.
I have already started making new layers/plans for some of the maps and they do include the reward system. (they entirely based on it actually) 

However the main issue is that the map designing and areas possible to go is very limited so i end up with making new navmeshes (areas where bots can walk) to reach those places.
and this takes time and requires me to learn 3dsmax and bla bla bla (more sidequests)
