      VG Servers are Back Up! *UPDATED AGAIN* TS3 Server is back; PR and Mumble are online, Arma 3 Servers are online but still need VG specific missions and configurations, should be done before end of week...   04/15/2017

      UPDATE Sunday April 23rd:
      Most everything is back online now.  The PR Server is running, and Mumble is working.  We have not yet made PR Updates available in TCAdmin, but several more people have access to update the PR Server (including me) and there should be little to no server downtime from future PR Updates.

      I've installed a second PR Server and still need to expand the VG PR License for it - it can be used for whatever, but I called it "PR EVENT SERVER" to start.  I figured we might also want a development server for things like FastJack's PR COOP Insurgency Mission testing, and we will take care of that this coming week as well, if able.

      The Arma 3 Servers have been reinstalled, and they are running basic versions of their former missions.  They still need to be configured, but they will remain online until this happens during the week (when PITN gets time).  I've set up A3 Servers with a Steam Update button in TCAdmin, any Arma Admin can now update to the latest Arma version much faster and easier, and without needing to wait for a Head Admin.    -Sem

      Sunday April 16th 2017:
      I've just received an email from the Server Host in Germany.  They host the server that runs our TS3 and various game servers here including Project Reality, and Arma 2 & 3.  Apparently, there has been a fault with our server host, possibly a hardware failure or such, but all servers in one part of their data center were affected including ours. We do not have further details at this time, but unfortunately this means VG Servers will be down until we can regain access to our server.  We were not given a time frame estimate or specific details of what damage was incurred, and we do not know if we have lost any data that was on the server.  We've been with this host for many, many years, and we've had nothing but great connections and fast servers.  Clearly this is a rare occurrence and we need to be patient as we weather this storm. I feel particularly bad for our loyal Project Reality players who were very patient waiting for our server to get it's most recent update, and I wish I could do something immediately to fix this.  It's a sad truth that it is out of our hands for the time being as we await contact from our host, and get a detailed damage report and estimate of how long until we are online again.  Of course, I've contacted the other head administrators at VG and apprised them of the situation.  We will update you all as we get information. Thank you all for your patience and understanding!

Is this the 3rd morning in a row it's crashed?  Restarted to last autosave - Day 14.  Looks like BLUFOR pushed the FLOT above the 88th - keep an eye out for the end of the war.  I'm wondering where these crashes are coming from...

Campaign must be over or something.  I restarted it to Day 1.

I saved the autosaves in another folder in case you all disagree and want me to try to restart from them - I hate making unilateral decisions about a campaign you all play in, but I think after 3 crashes so close, it's necessary.

yeah im not sure whats going on with all these crashes i hope im not doing anything on my end that making this happen

I dont have any objections to it being restarted over to day 1, tho if it continues to crash would you be able to put it back to where it was?

It did not crash last night.  I saw that Brain had some IVC issues, but other flights after that had no IVC issues that I could see, so I assume the problem resolved itself.  I'd be happy to change it back to the Day 14 save files we left off on, to see if there is a problem with the save file causing crashes, or if they are just a string of coincidental crashes that gave us that impression.  I'll be saving the save files from yesterday/today in the event that a Day 14 test just keeps crashing again, so that I can just restart from where the campaign is right now and not Day 1 beginning.

I'm home all day today and I'll be keeping an eye on it as it goes to watch for crashes - but if it does crash mid-day for no apparent reason, I feel we must abandon the save and start fresh *(by which I mean going back to the save files we've been playing since last night, currently on Day 2).

On my last flight a few days ago I was flying with CobaltUK and both had issues with the game. My flight plan had a few extra steerpoints in it that were not supposed to be there, his flight plan was different than what was planned and resembled the flight plan generated by the AI when you first add a package. The coordinate system in his case was totally off as he was getting wrong distances from the steerpoints. On my screen a memory usage warning message appeared a few times ( BMS using 98% of allocated memory, have never seen that before. I restart the game after each flight to prevent memory leak so I doubt it was a problem on my side) 

Problem with the process running on the server(memory leak or memory hogging sort of thing)? Corrupted save file?

I'm hoping we'll find out soon.  I went ahead and restarted the campaign from the Day 14 save file, and it seemed to be running fine all day.  Just now I noticed it had crashed, but it had progressed and created several more autosave files since, so I restarted it from the latest one.

If you guys notice any more issues like Kaos described above, please let me know.  If the game seems fouled up, I'd be happy to scrap the save files and continue from the beginning of the war with different saves - but I need input for that.

hey Sem, Derk and I can join the server but as soon as we try to load the campaign it gets almost done then BMS stops working. not 100% if its the server or not

Not sure what was up - the server looked just fine on it's side.  There was someone (callsign Viper, so not sure who) about to takeoff - told him to wait for a quick restart.  Saved, so it's restarted to whatever time it was right now.  Hope it works better now.
