Self serving shameless promotion here, as I'm the one who transcribed this copy several years ago - but this is a 100% accurate reproduction of the English translation by Lionel Giles from 1910. It's a great reference to the ways of ancient warfare and in many ways it applies closely to modern warfare as well. Lectures and motivational speeches have often referenced the materials here with great success as compared to many topics from sales and marketing to self improvement. The poetic prose is still close to the original, where the sky and it's weather patterns are referred to as "Heaven" (translated of course), and concepts should be read at times ambiguously when applying them to modern situations, and other times literally as they were meant by Sun Tzu in the way his world appeared to him, and the way his ancient world functioned.
When Armies marched on their feet for thousands of miles, the actual battle was only the small, final portion of the entire scope of the Art of War from food supply to gear to troop morale and discipline to espionage and recon. Anyone who leads a team in a game of any kind can benefit at least in some small way from the time proven knowledge in this short work of writing. Give it a read - force yourself through it if you must - you will not regret it!
