Mankind has done evil deeds since the dawn of time. They will continue to do so till the end of time. Some people are just fucked up. :/

Reply to thisabsolutely true.
its not the video-games making people do such things as running amok - its society.
although i think its definitely wrong to run amok, i can understand some people who have been treated worst by society (mobbing in school) just someday snap and go berserk.

My favorite quote on this back in the day:

"If Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music"

I'll stick with the "already mental" thing, because it all comes down with how these people are able to cope with the violence, and to determine what is real from fake...hell, I was playing GTA at 11 and I'm not shooting up schools/malls/theaters...

"You don't blame the fork and spoon for making someone fat" - and you can't blame any form of input if the vast majority of people have no problem with it. One in fifty sticks of PC RAM are faulty - I'm sure there's a statistic like that for people too. No sense punishing the herd over one bad steer.

If those bleeding hearts had their way, it would be illegal to sell a coffee table that wasn't built out of padded orange foam.

(by the way, that way MY local mall - Clackamas Town Center is right across the street from the Pizza Hut I used to run!)

I've been listening to heavy metal since 6th grade, have been playing violent video games for as long as they've existed, love horror movies, serial killers and just about any macabre... AND I'VE NEVER FELT LIKE GOING ON A MURDER SPREE! Arm yourselves before it's too late.

More guns will result in many more people dead. You don't solve a problem caused by guns by allowing more guns to flow. No civilian should be allowed to own any type of automatic guns imho.

It is true, spoons and forks are not responsible for making people fat and the same can be said about guns. It's the people using them is where the problem is. I have never heard of anyone walking into a mall or school armed with spoons and forks that killed people though. So the comparison is just silly, as silly as thinking that gun restrictions wouldn't have a positive effect on reducing the number of people gunned down.
The recent suggestion by the NRA to put armed guards in schools has to be the silliest of them all.
I recently chatted with Blub on FB where he suggested that disarming the public is kin to slavery. It took me a while to pick myself up of the floor from laughing so hard.
It is this kind of mentality that is enslaving the American public to a gun culture where by you are enslaving yourselves to the degree that armed security forces will be needed on every street corner. What a charming life that would be.
I have owned several guns in my life. A 44, 9mm, 10mm, several rifles and a couple shot guns. I was an avid hunter and target shooter. My hand guns were kept at the range under strict security while my rifles were kept in a safe, trigger locks installed, ammunition in a different safe and the keys keep in yet another safe. I felt it my responsibility to ensure my guns would never be in anyone else's hands but my own. My premises where regularly inspected by law enforcement and they were made aware of every weapon in my home. It's just the right thing to do! Diligence with respect to gun control is the responsibility of every gun owner.
If you keep yours in a dresser drawer then you are part of the problem.
Ban military weapons, large magazines and end concealed weapons on the street.
I think everyone should be permitted to own weapons for the purpose of sport and hunting. No one needs a machine gun at home.
Pvt. Pirate 31 Dec : 03:52
Reply to thisi think the same about military guns/rifles (automatic).
about disarming the public in general, i think a lot different:
if you ever got robbed by two guys with a gun and knives, you get to see how much it helps that you cant get a gun license that easy.
if noone is allowed to even carry a knife, then everyone will be an easy victim to robbery or worse, because criminals do get weapons no matter how much you try to restrict that.
if they know that everyone else is unarmed, they will have an easier game.
since the day i've been robbed, i carry a folding knive, which i can open within milliseconds on my belt.
and i do so, although that is forbidden in germany.
i hope they dont begin banning pepperspray and other selfdefense "weapons".

Come on, a stricter gun control means less guns. Sure the hardcore criminals will always be able to get guns, but that 18 year old kid in a messed up place might have real difficulties getting one.

Instead of going into the nearest 7/11 and buying a gun.

I'd also be careful about pulling a knife on an armed robber. It doesn't improve your odds of coming out of it in one piece.

Weapons don't solve problems, they cause them.
Pvt. Pirate 03 Jan : 04:50
Reply to thissure, pulling a knife when the attacker is holding a gun is stupid, but i'd have pulled a gun, if i would have had one.
in germany, you cant just go into a gunstore and get even a small calibre gun.
you have to a department and fill out forms and you might get a permission to buy a small calibre gun.
and they arent making that easy. reasons they might approve is that you're a shopowner and want the gun in case you get robbed.
if you want a bigger calibre - like 9mm you need to prove that you need it first, which is even more unlikely.
easiest way is to buy a gaspistol, but even that you're allowed to have only at home - not in public. if you want to carry that one in public, you need to get a permission first, which also costs you money.

i hope you see what i mean.
also anyone who is willing to just straight ahead rob someone wont have trouble getting hands on a gun (illegal of course), but everyone who wants to be safe from those cant get one easy and safe and without doing something illegal.

That's my point. You shouldn't be able to go into a 7/11 and buy a gun. It should be strictly controlled and you should have a very good reason to own one.

I would very much like to see you pull out your gun faster than a robber can stab you in the throat. Are you really willing to take that gamble with your life? Then you're a bigger gambler than I am.

Imagine someone has had a few too many drinks and gets into a fight with some guy, but because of the moronic weapons laws and his "rights" to carry firearms in public, he pulls out the gun and shoots the other guy.

Guns will take more lives than they will save.
Pvt. Pirate 07 Jan : 11:01
Reply to thiswell, the question is, if its useful, if weapons are restricted the way its in germany.
i think our laws are a little bit too strict, while other countries are allowing their people to buy weapons freely and everyone could arm himself like special forces, which definitely isn't good either.

regarding selfdefense i know that you cant ever be prepared for such a situation, except if you're having some selfdefense training.
